This worked for me:
Find your hosts file here: C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts
Copy/paste the hosts file to your desktop.
Rename the file so it becomes “hosts.txt”
Now open the file with notepad. (you need to run as admin if you have that option)
Add this line at the bottom:
174.35.56.164 assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com
Save the file.
Now rename the file again to delete the .txt so it has no file extension anymore and is just “hosts” again.
Now go replace your old hosts file with this new edited one on your desktop.
If you have the GW2 launcher already open, restart it.
This was someone else’s fix, but it worked for me when the Google DNS didn’t work right away.
Worked for me as well. Restarted DL client and was dling at over 2MB/s… thanks!
This is a good idea. The “nuts and bolts” of the idea needs some work but I like this way better than the current implementation.
I’ll be playing more. I intend to buy an additional character slot so I can level a new character.
A lot of people on the forums are all doom and gloom and cry about every little change. I like the patch …good job arena net !

I dont think you know what pay-to-win means. JoeVmt is correct prices on the AH will react accordingly.
With the new update I’ve noticed subtle enhancements to the UI. I’m a sucker for aesthetics, and the subtle UI changes look great. Keep up the great work ANet!
I received mine in the mail along with a quaggan backpack…..why are we getting these things from arenanet ?

Anet, can’t you afford security professionals? I sent you $20 USD just a couple days ago.
ddosing isn’t hacking (cracking)….there’s nothing you can really do to avoid it. Kudos to arenanet for restoring services quickly though.
Lets assume OP’s statement is correct to some degree in that GW2 is infact “pay to win”, this still shouldn’t bother people. Besides PvP, you aren’t competing with anyone so why should you care how someone else chooses to play the game? It’s their loss if they choose to use XP boosters to skip over content that they have paid for. Additionally, anything that could give you an advantage in PvP like the stat boosters and revive orbs are disabled when PvPing.
Great use of the API. I see a lot of potential for a tool like this, keep up the good work!

Obviously everyone has AoE smart guy, we all roll in AoE’s here on Rangers…..oh wait..

Yes, with Ranger’s large plethora of AoE weapon skills among which includes Barrage and… uhh…. GS autoattack…. and umm….. yep that’s all.
…..both the GS and sword have large attack radii that we can SPAM, what more could you ask for when trying to find a stealthed thief. Do you want to blow valuable CDs and have a chance of completely missing?

It was like this at release too. Eternal and your home map has the longest wait. Start in one of the others, then when in, que home or eternal if that’s what you were aiming for. Still a long wait, but at least you can do something while you wait… after you wait.
Otherwise play more on weekdays or off hours. Friday starts the match and is usually loaded at peak.
Negative. There isn’t one other MMO that you have to wait like this. ANET needs to make multiple instances or figure something else out. The wait is ridiculous and ANYONE that apologizes for ANET is crazy. Simply make 2 instances of this map and be done with it. There should be minimal wait. Period. I cannot believe that players actually stand up for ANET in this matter. It’s crazy.
It’s easier said then done. How will the scoring work in these overflow WvWvW maps ?
It easy to come up with random ideas, but actually implementing them is a different story.
