In my personal opinion, while i find Inspired Virtue an amazing trait and a must have, blind justice just isn’t as good.
It boost only one virtue and while area blind is ok against waves of mobs, blind is still the weakest form of damage mitigation: it can be removed, some targets are immune (dredges and turrets comes to mind) and every boss you would really want to use it against will have Unshakable thus making blind pointless.

In my opinion Blind justice becomes good only if you have traited 15 points of radiance, then it is awesome; otherwise is pretty much lackluster compared to several other options.

There is value in this analysis, however there are a couple of important points that I feel were omitted:

- A low healt cap is also a cap on the ability to actual receive healing: while during the heat of battle a Warrior will hardly hit his healt cap after using an healing skill/being healed by a party member a Guardian does actually suffer from an hard cap to HPs if he bring a lot of healing skills and do not rise his base vitality a lot. Sometimes he will go in overheal wasting healing power or he will not use healing skills as soon as they are avaible, wasting cooldown timers.

- High healing is irrelevant if an enemy can deplete your healt faster than you can heal.
This is especially evident against dungeon bosses: when a guardian makes a mistake there is an evident bigger chance of being bursted to death than a Warrior with comparable equip/traits.

A character usually do not exist in a vacuum and there is an old saying in RPGs that no matter how much healing you can use having a bigger HP pool is always a good thing, so…

Can a guardian tank enemies and take hits even with his lower healt poll? Yes, it is obviously true.
Can a lone Guardian with lots of healing skills tank better than your averange lone warrior? Yes, I think this is also true.
However, while playing together in a party, will a guardian with lots of healing skills tank better than said averange warrior? No, this is false: most of those healing skills will be party heals affecting also the Warrior that due to the bigger healt pool will benefit more from all that healing power.

People asked (in this thread no less) for PvE and PvP skill separation, they also noted repeatedly the Leap of Faith bug.

The current patch is obviously trying in giving concrete form to some of our requests, however I still think the direction they took does not conform to the real needs of the community (number 1 in list the uttelry boring gamplay that now afflicts the GS).
Mostly due to a total absence of communication between Arenanet and its guardian fans.

Can people try to see the bigger picture and stop whining please. One buff and one nerf.

I find somewhat pointless to discuss if you are just going to ignore 90% of my argumentation with a snip, anyway…

No I totally disagree with your opinion: a fix is made to a skill not working as intended, the game is balanced by the supposition that skills are working as intended; hence a fix is required and has nothing to do with game balance.

Can people try to see the bigger picture and stop whining please. One buff and one nerf.

While I find the renewed focus buff amazing, every else is either lackluster or a bad sign from the developer.

The fix to leap of faith is, as you said, a fix: something mandatory to have a skill working as intended: not a buff.
The +10% damage to the SoW is a joke, honestly, that is going to have a minimal effect due to the horrible downtime that is affecting the Symbol, even once traited.

None of the two is also going to help the playstyle of the GS. I am not going to explain the problem in detail (it has been repeated ad nauseam), but the previous patch was a loss in dynamic (and fun) gameplay.

The nerf to Save Yourself… I don’t really understand how to read it.
Honestly this is not going to affect my build, however there is a strong, justificable, suspect that the skill has been nerfed in PvP because it grants the retaliation boon.
While the it would be a good sign to split skills in PvE and PvP versions, the fact that a nerf intended to retaliation skills hit the overall effectivenes of the skill instead of just reworking the boon or lowering its duration whould be very very bad news (and it would be the second time happening, confirming a trend).

Overall the real problem of the Guardian forum is the total lack of comunication from the developers, not the community in itself.
The Guardian Community is just confused and frustrated that no sort of official response is given from the developers regarding the actual future of guardian skills that grant that doomed retailation boon.

I can’t really understand what they were thinking: +10% damage to the SoW? Who ever care?

So: the positive aspect is that they are actually reading the forum, since it is obvious they have recognized the overall nerf to GS Symbol Builds.
The bad point is that they are not going to explain us anything and they are not goint to stay in contact with the Guardian community, i really hope this is going to change.

Well, no gems from me during this Halloween event for sure; one must voice his feedback somehow.

Do you people actually believe that Anet didn’t consider all those things? Do you really think that the internal tests that Anet is doing (in their own words, it takes up to a week or more to test all and any changes) didn’t discover that they are affecting more than just retaliation builds?
Do you seriously belive that you, just you were the FIRST one to discover all these combinations?
Please…

You could be right, however Anet explained certain reasons for this fix in the patch notes and those reasons seem misplaced and/or contradictory if you take the above in consideration.
Hence the question, we are paying costumers after all: there is no harm in asking.

To Greatsword Skill Bar Haters

Also, please stop clicking and keybind your abilities. Dragging a mouse around the UI is slow and won’t do you any good in competitive pvp.

Your suggestion would be appreciated if this game keybinding were better.
The current keybinding system affects every single weapon bar, including your other weapon set and underwather weapon sets.
So you are actually unable to keybind all your weapon skills as you wish unless you play using a single weapon set.
An example: before this patch both the greatsword and the mace (the two weapons heavily based on their symbols and so commonly paired in any symbol build) had their symbol skills as their 2nd weapon skill.
This was very helpful and user-friendly, because when recasting a symbol you just had to press wichever keybind you had set for the “2” skill redgardless of wich weapon was currently equipped.

Now the symbol on the mace is still the 2nd skill, but the greatsword one is the 4th.
Since keybinding affecta all your weapons at the same time, it is impossible to recreate that intuitive simplicity (swapping the keybindings for the greatsword would mess up the keybindgs of your mace).

The whole issue could be avoided with an improvement of the binding UI or the ability to customize the weapon skill bar.
If you would care to read the main topic from the beginning you would notice that it’s one of the most common request the community has made in response of the whole greatsword issue.

You can change binds it to the keys you want and you will have to get used to new CD’s eventually.
Well letting players put skills in order they want seems reasonable, but later you wander what for? You can bind it manually so skill order only shows CD and they are in that order not other because of highter number = highter CD.

Good sir, you are horribly wrong.
What you are going to keybind this way is not the skills of one weapon, but the skills of all your weapons; including your second weapon set and both your underwater weapons.

So to keep consistance in your greatsword gameplay you lose it with three other weapon sets.
Not to mention skill #2 was the simbol skill of both greatsword and mace before the last patch: any symbol based build is going to have messed up commands wichever keybinding is going to use.

The point is… who cares about retaliation? They could entirely strip the retaliation effect from the symbol of wrath and I wouldn’t care about that, but with the current change they totally messed up my gameplay.

I am (was?) a big symbols & combo fields user; not only my symbol’s downtime is now badly hampered; now I also have to relearn button placement from scratch on my main weapon.

Seriously, a big NO.
Anet is free to change and balance skills as much as they feel is required, but do not mess up the order of the weapon skill bars without giving us the ability to rearrange them.
