- 3 maps, one for each modes
- One class
- One new weapon by class
- Guilds hall
- Useless masteries system outside the new map

3 years to devellop that. They really were doing nothing since launch. Such a shame.

They didnt say 3 maps, they said 3 biomes. in Gw2 currently we have like 5 maps per biome

they also didnt say the new masteries are only usuable in the new maps, the lore ones probably yes but glinding can be useful everywhere.

there are also new skills, the specializations, precursor crafting, new WvW map with new mechanics, New PvP mode.

And we just know the overview, we need to know the details before we can judge something like this.

I agree with Simzani and some with you. If player base have to wait 2 years-3 years for expansion; it should have more. 2 years-3 years wait expansion should be more. I read guild war 1 expansion; Eye of North and it had more than guild wars 2 expansion in 2 years. See> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guild_Wars:_Eye_of_the_North

Galen; may have more detail for new expansion before release date??

Let them have their fun, this is still a “tiny expansion” but an expansion none the less at least its on the right direction but it has taken too long and i doubt majority of the vets that have left will come back. I know many GW vets felt betrayed and now anet wants that group back from the looks of it.
Ill probably play it when its out and its on sale but i wont be hyping or telling my friends to get it like at the release of GW2, i don’t want to get burned again and make my friends play a game they wont enjoy again.
Wonder how much content they will also add to the gemshop taking resources from the actual expansion.

Time to refocus and clarify GW2's goals?

The game has great potential but people are upset that the Devs are not communicating and keep dodging questions. People would like to know if the Devs actually have a roadmap on content they are planning/creating/working on. YES the Living Story is new content no one is debating that(Gaile), many players want to know if the game still has a future for them.
People don’t want LS spoilers they want some insight on the rest of the games content PvP/WvW/Fractals. To me it looks like the Gem Shop gets the most attention, I buy stuff from it from time to time. Some of the gem shop items should have been added to the LS or to the main story looking at the new mini and Pact weapons.
For many people the game has become stale, this is because anet now only cares about the “new” players since everything now a days revolves around them.
One person already posted the amount of content difference between 2013 and 2014, that just makes GW2 look pitiful.
Hopefully the devs will come around and speak to the gamers/supporters but i wont hold my breath. Any word on first person view?
In the meantime GW2 actually forced me to resub to another game since they have new content coming out and communicate with their player base.

Is boycott the answer?

There are many problems with the game but boycotting might not do anything unless its done in mass. Many people wont stop playing so there has to be a better way to get the Devs to respond and actually do their work.
KarlaGrey posted many links about problems and potential fixes but no word from them. We will probably never get any word on fixes since if it doesn’t affect their Gem Shop they wont do anything about it. Even then they messed with the gem conversion and said “we will take a look” but we haven’t heard anything from them and that’s because other sites started to write about what they did. There’s new items in the shop and the gem conversion has not been fixed.
Also IPhyton and others don’t fall for the trolls that just want to kitten you off. Its always the same people defending Anet/Devs in these threads. If there’s a thread stating valid concerns and problems you will always see the same people coming in to defend, don’t know if they are placed here by the mod/devs to show that people support them or what.
CDIs are useless just look at WvW, so many then the devs ask for more opinions when they havent even looked at the first one.
I would like to know where Anet test their updates, who the people that cant handle 10 skills on their bar so they released the September Pack to dumb down the game and hold peoples hands.

Lets talk about the new Gem conversion [Merged]

1.)So no response from anyone.
2.)Care to enlighten us who Anet tests their new content on? For example the people that found 10 skills to hard to handle so you had to roll out the September update?
3.)Please stop replying to obvious trolls guys (its always the same people defending Anet when there’s a complaint, I wont name people since then they will use this as an excuse to close this down)
4.)Everyone knows this was just a money grab, so come clean I would respect you more for your honesty.
5.)Revert to the old system or add an extra tab and price chart

Hey there,

Here are a few tidbits from the team:

  • A lot of newer players had trouble with the interface. That doesn’t apply to you, you’re veterans who have been around the conversion block a time or two. But newer players will benefit from the updated system.
  • The goal was to make the Gem Store more like other shopping experiences, and if you think about it, there is more of that feel to it now.
  • You may be surprised to know this (I know I was) but very few people bought gems at smaller denominations than the first one offered in the new system. That’s not to say they never did, nor that there wouldn’t be the desire to do so. But overall, the current options were selected based on player purchases in the past.
  • The team is going to listen to your feedback and, if and when it’s practical and desirable, they can look towards adjusting the new system to better meet your needs.

So please keep your thoughts coming on the new system. Feel free to make suggestions but please, keeping them constructive would be very much appreciated.

And yet in the history of this forum there has never been a post saying “the gem exchange interface is confusing me as a new player” or anything similar.

Really? You’re 100% certain there’s never been such a post? Good for you, then!

Concerns of this nature come in via tickets, when someone takes the wrong step, buys too many times, isn’t able to process the acquistion or exchange, etc. By the time someone’s on the forums, they’re usually comfortable with the systems.

I have kept quiet for so long with all these updates and the living story hoping that something nice might one day come out well, since I loved GW1 so much. But this is too much, you are saying people could not figure out the gem store but somehow figured out the travesty that is the ticket system?

How can the player base trust the devs if they wont say anything about changes that are coming instead of always saying well its easier for the new players, all the veterans can deal with it and suck it up. Who are you testing all the new content on that cant follow simple instructions or take the time to learn?

There are great suggestions in the thread already like adding the extra functions in a tab. Hopefully it wont turn out like the commander pin fiasco where they “listened to the players” but probably already had it planned out from the beginning not to charge extra for the colors to get good publicity.

I will continue playing the game but GW2 has forced my hand to resub SWTOR since they at least are adding content, help their player base and have TEST SERVERS.
