We need to look at who is the cause of this problem, perhaps? (Numerous little issues all along, & often problems with Trader not working until restarting GW2, now not working no matter what.)
{BTW GW2 trader works fine on Bootcamp win 7. On this same computer/Mac.)
I looked into the ‘Package’, found an interesting text file: THIRDPARTYSOFTWAREREADME.rtf
After checking online, found that Cider ported GW2 to the Mac at the beginning.
They called it Beta, and still do. Meaning they never finished it.
below is a small part of the T&Conditions… showing many companies involved in Cider, the software used to port it over.
So, who is going to be responsible? The problem is likely a can of worms.
Interesting that Arenanet was implying THEY did this port: http://www.macrumors.com/2012/09/18/guild-wars-2-arrives-on-mac-with-beta-client-release/
saying “Bringing Guild Wars 2 to the Mac is huge for us, …”

and this following response reminds us that we don’t all have the time or the playing style for this huge game change dumped on us: (changed from being a true NO GRIND game, to one of the worst grinding games now out. )

[quote … Another thing, you DO NOT need to complete it every single day if you can only play 30 minutes…
end quote.
This is probably one of the dumbest posts I’ve ever read. I really hate when people say, play the game normally and your daily will be complete. Here is how my version of a daily would go and it wouldn’t involve crafting, gathering, rezzing dead npc’s, or event camping:
-Score 6 Kegs in a Single Round in Keg Brawl
-Kill 10 People in WvWvW without Dying
-Buy 10 Items from the Trading Post and Sell those 10 Items on the trading post for a profit
-Complete the Eternal Battlegrounds or Southsun Cove Jumping Puzzle without the use of a Mesmer Portal
-Solo a Mini Dungeon
Does that sound like a Daily you’d complete normally? Well it is for some of us and the current Daily’s we have to go out of our way to complete. The reason we do it? We want to stay on an even playing field as our peers in PvE and WvW [end quote]

I have not played this game since a day after I posted this. that’s about 2 weeks ago. And I don’t miss it one bit.
It WAS a fun game to play. Partly due to NO GRINDING.
This response says it better than I did:

I don’t like the current implemation of the daily achievment and laurels. Guild Wars 2 was a game that I didn’t feel like I had to log into every day. I could play when I wanted for as little or as long as I wanted. Now I feel required to log in every day to finish the daily achievment. Every day that I miss the achievment I miss out on a laurel which puts me one day farther from top stat gear. I often only have a limited amount of time in the day to play video games and it’s upsetting that in this “grindless game” I find myself grinding a daily every single day in order to keep up with gear in this game where “you dont have to grind for gear”. If Arena.net wants to implement currency like laurels they could learn from Blizzards implementation of the model. Blizzard gives you the entire week to grind your 7 days worth of dungeon points. You can do it all in one day or spread it out as you see fit. I just don’t want to be forced to log in every day to grind for top stat gear in my grindless mmo where you don’t have to grind for gear.

I just want to thank everyone for responding.

It looks like I’m not the only one that has a problem with the new dailies.

and, of course I understand there will be childish answers because there are children playing.

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR THOUGHTS AND SOLUTIONS.

I’d like to hear from others who also noticed problems since the last patch.

If I want Laurels, which to me is important since the ‘fluff’ gear is better than I have.
If I chose to skip Daily’s I’d miss out on that, and we’d get karma before, right?
I’ve only succeeded in completing ONE daily since the patch. then I stopped playing this game the day I posted this thread.
Daily’s seem geared for hardcore players.
and the change has taken away part of the fun of the game.
and taken away the rewards.
As for dying more, that’s since the patch and happens more often when my high level chars go to low level areas. Yes, I know they changed that.
But bottom line is:
To me the game is discouraging now. So, I’m not playing it.

2/2/2013; The recent changes are nice.
However, the daily changes are a big problem for me.
I love this game, consider it the best I’ve ever played. and I’ve played MANY.

Some of the things I love about it: Just fun to play! People work together! No ninja looters allowed! The game is rare in that it is set up so that people help each other! Not compete with each other and bring out the nasty aspects of human nature! PVP does that.
My problem is: I often need to be a casual player. Log in when I have time and just have fun. That is gone now.
1. Now, I die a lot more.
2. and Now, it’s all about COMPLETING THE DAILY!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND the daily is way too complicated for casual playing! OR EVEN REGULAR PLAYING! Some days I can play for hours, but when I’m busy I can only play a half hour, or an hour or so, and do I want to spend all that time doing the DAILY? NO, I DO NOT!
I find myself no longer able to go where I want to, do what I want. Instead I have to try to find an area or technique to try to fulfill of the items on the dam DAILY!
(yesterday I brought MOBS to a miner, logged out so they’d attack and kill him, logged back in to rez him so I could get the 10 I needed. no time to hunt around for an area that had npc’s needing rez.: THIS IS BORING.)
BEFORE the changes, I just did what I wanted and the daily was usually done. I checked before I logged out and did one more thing if there was something undone.
SO SAD!!
