I actually think they’ve ruined Tequatl. There is no feeling of achievement if you beat a big boss in a huge zerg especially one that relies so much on 6 people knowing what they’re doing in the turrets with enough good people protecting said turrets. No matter how you use your skills in the teq fight if you’re in the right place at the right time with the right people he can be done easily it’s not hard and for most in the zerg it’s just a case of doing as much damage as possible while he’s vulnerable. One of the best fights I had in the game was taking down Claw of Jormag with two friends. We had to be careful and the fight took a while, fortunately it was before the stupid timer was brought in, but it felt good to beat him with so few. Much better a fight like that than what we’ve got with Teq now. The best i’ve been able to do is get him to 51 or 52%. We weren’t doing anything wrong there just wasn’t enough of us to beat the stupid timer. I love challenging content but this is not that, We’d have taking him down if we’d had more time. The fight wasn’t exciting though it was just frustrating. If they must have a boss like this put him in an instance or make him a guild challenge and bring back the old Teq with just a few tweaks but do-able with a small party. I love GW2 and enjoy playing all 8 of my lvl 80 characters. However, if they do the same to the other bosses I will cut my losses and stop playing because the fun of taking down a tough boss with a few players will be gone. I have given up on Teq I haven’t got the time to hang around for ages hoping I get in a server with the right team to do a fight that is not fun. if nothing else bin the timers on the bosses and make failure purely to do with not being able to protect the cannon power generators, cannon itself or say 3 out of the 6 turrets. Also reduce the number of people required to between 15 and 30 with scaling upwards above that number. Leave the other bosses alone except Balthazar, the approach is really annoying and get rid of the exploding chickens introduced at Lyssa, you can’t dodge what you can’t see in a crowd.
the chief problem i have with preventing waypointing reviving in combat is the boredom factor of laying dead when no one can revive you because of the position you’ve ended up. I have never res rushed as it is called as i really grudge paying for armour repairs but like everybody who is truthful i occasionally get downed in a inaccessible place to other players. here is an example. In AC i got knocked off the parapet by the troll and instead of landing in the water I hit a ledge which killed me. I’m then punished for my misfortune by being stuck there for several minutes. This was something Anet said wouldn’t happen in GW2. Just because a group of people res rush doesn’t mean everybody else should be punished. I also disagree with the invulnerabilty on enemies when you attack from a safe place. Attacking from a safe place is just showing intelligence when it happened early on in the game in the open world i thought that was the bug! Please rethink this and at least allow limited combat death waypointing and also allow a full share of loot from corpses of enemies that a dead player has made a significant amount of damage to before dying. i say again please do not make me lie dead as the boredom will drive people like me away from the game.
Removing being able to use waypoints when killed and other players are still in combat is a ridiculous and stupid idea. I can think of nothing worse or more boring than lying dead while the rest of your party can’t revive you because they’re too busy fighting an often ridiculously overpowered enemy. Porting to a wp and getting back into the fight is essential if nobody can revive you. I also cannot believe that enemy invulnerability when you attack from a good safe place has been reinstated. Fighting from cover and safe places shows initiative (and is also a legitimate military tactic) and should not be penalised by making the enemy invulnerable. I have just started to enjoy the standard dungeons despite the rather poor levels of loot and this will most likely stop me playing dungeons altogether and even possibly drive me away from the game altogether. Think again about this. Gaming is supposed to be fun this takes that fun away. Stop listening to only the elitist players and think of the majority of players who want things to be do-able but challenging for ordinary players.
I don’t like the idea of this ascended gear rubbish at all. I didn’t buy the game to spend hours grinding through dungeons against ridiculously over-powered enemies i bought it to enjoy the open world environment, join in events, explore and generally have fun. Add new areas of the map for us to explore by all means but not a new even more evil type of dungeon with added agony just so people can show off how much tedium they can put up with!
