I currently have 55 laurels. One of my guildies has around 70.
So, following your statement, my guildie damaged me by 75s + 90s he can get by selling mystic coins.
Oh wait, i can do 30 minutes of CoF Path1 and get more than 1,65g.
Oh, but he has 15 more Jugs of Karma than me!
But wait, i have 2+ stacks of Drops of Karma earned with dungeons, plus 100k karma done without even noticing it.
Srsly, i LOL’d
Trade your gold for gems, then use the gems to buy the mini. I spent $10 on gems at launch and have been using gold to buy gem stuff ever since.
350 gems (the price for the plush griffon) is at the time of this post 6g 50s. And that sounds like about what I would think folks who paid money just to flip them for gold would charge in some other game as well.
Just pugging dungeons you can get about a gold a run. Thats 6 dungeon runs and maybe a bit of selling old crafting mats you don’t need to get that. A really dedicated player could get that in a day. A more reasonable one could probably get it in 3 or 4 days.
Disagree.
Your complaint has nothing to do with account bound because you can craft them and you can buy them for gems.
Your complaint is that you think they are too expensive to buy with gold converted to gems.
LOL @ people still not understanding which minis we’re talking about…after 1.5 weeks of forum threads!
Agree with the unbound!
I get your point, and i agree with you.
But since 1 week of Wintersday has gone, and people spent an insane amount of real money in those Boxes, it would be a real scam to make nearly everyone able to get the minis for free.
Removing the account bound thing, imho, would make nearly everyone happy. The new players, if they REALLY want all the minipets, would know that earning enough money (1 month of farm farm farm will get you 100g, i think) would provide them the minipets.
The disturbing fact in this Mystery Boxes thing, imho, it’s just that you really don’t know if even spending 1000$ you’d get all the minis.
I’m not in that 10%, and i was able to buy all the 3 Lost Shore’s minis. They weren’t that high during the 5-6 days after the end of the Event. Now the mini Karka is about 90g.
It’s just a matter of being quick and get the stuff you want when the price is low. And i think everyone who wants the 4 minis would be quick, for sure.
Option #4: make the minis tradable. There are tons of double minis around, since people spent even 120$ on the Boxes. The prices won’t be very high for the first weeks. Everyone with a bit of money would have a chance of getting all the 4 minis and people would be happy.
OP, while I don’t agree with anet making this RNG, I can’t believe you’re saying they are greedy because of your fail. If anything, it’s your fault for gambling your week’s wage. Don’t blame it on anet, it’s just asinine! No sympathy for you.
The only thing they said about those Mystery Boxes was “uncommon chance to get one of the three minipets, and a very rare chance to get the Foostivoo”.
Is 1% an “uncommon chance”? Srsly? Isn’t it being greedy?
If they clearly stated “1% chance”, i bet they’d get less then half the incomes from the Gemstore.
i’ll just leave this here.
http://www.gw2db.com/items/73113-miniature-wintersday-trioOnly one response can do that justice. I am pleased.
GW2DB shows a Trio-Box for the Lost Shore’s event too.
I bet it was in the GW2 .dat and so GW2DB got it, but was never released.
So don’t be sure about it, it might just be a string in the code that will never show ingame.
