One simple question i can't understand

Why is ranger the only class that is punished for their F1 ability?

No other class lost damage because of the F1 ability, it is a class perk, it defines and adds to the flavor of each, yet we loose damage compared to all other classes because of ours? On top of that, 35-45% of our damage is assigned to our pet?

Is it really any more damage or utility than others?

I honestly think the damage/utility of our F1 ability vs other is about on par when you consider all of its downfalls(easy to kite, killable w/ long recast, F2 has long cool-down, travel time until damage, cc can effect it, it gets aoe’d like a chump, HORRIBLE AI, again…HORRIBLE AI). Possibly take away the ability to change between two in combat, but i do not see this need to be punished for having a pet.

(P.S. I don’t think all classes are balanced well and rangers are kitteny, i think a couple classes really got the shaft, and some far outshine the others, but this is the ranger forums)

Sword Changes.

The one and only thing sword needs it for #1 to be breakable for evade, heal, utilitys, elites, and whatever else, just like every single other attack in the game is.

The root on #1 is even fine, if you havnt figured it out yet, it is easy mode, no one can escape your auto attack, its sick, constant dmg/snare/bleed.

2 is a bit lackluster but i use it to get the %$^# out and into ranged combat.

3 is freaking great, i have circled ppl up to 3 times before when they move certain ways, and im sure its a bug but it totally messes with them.

It definitely looks better with the change, though i still believe a lot of the issue is that the camera is centered on the toons lower back, and not its head like most other games.

Black lion chests

i bought 5 keys

opened i think like 6-7 chests

got nothing, garbage boosters, thank god i got one black lion salvage kit to almost make it not a total waste

have no desire to ever bother with anything involving those chests unless the key is free.

I lived in Vegas for 7 years, i have no desire to gamble, let alone on FAKE ITEMS.

Downed State - A constructive assessment

I dont think downed state itself is a problem, the problem i see is the couple of very very powerful downed abilitys.

Mesmer, illusion Mesmer especially being he can teleport around, make fake downed ppl(yes i know the arrow) and to top it off the whole time his clones are beating on you.

Thief, the port skill itself isn’t that powerful, the ability to recast it so quickly is powerful.

Ranger(my main), lets be honest, the ability to use pet abilitys, switch pets, have pets attack ppl, while you are downs is way to strong, all pets for all classes should die when someone is downed. The actual ranger downed ability is fine and in line with the weakest of them.

Warrior i think is borderline, yes you get back up, but shortly after you die completely.

Necro is single target fear, who cares, and Guardian has a huge cd on the knock back, plenty of time to stomp both.

Elementalist, uh i dont even know what they get in downed state, im gonna guess its garbage?

Although i am still enjoying the game, for me its not that its only 5 attacks total, its that they are preset and you cant customize them at all, i half expect to see the ability to do this in an expansion though.

Example: Greatsword has 5 attack buttons, but 15 attacks to choose from for each of those buttons.

The amount of buttons to push is fine, anymore and it would be annoying, just like alot of older games are with skills. More buttons does not equal variety.

P.S. (Edit) oh and the quality over quantity argument only works when a bunch of skills aren’t garbage.
