A warrior shouldn’t have to play ranged to stay alive. Why have the class at all if it is pointless in dungeons.
Yes, you can play ranged…yes, this game is different than “insert game”…yes, I could learn the mechanics and adapt.
But, I want a hard hitting melee fighter and that is all I want. Why would any moron lug around a giant 2 handed hammer, just so he could shoot people when the action got tough?
i dont know what level you’re at, but you can try getting your hands on some armor with toughness. i usually run with knight’s armor (str/prec/tough), and I have no problems at all with melee (outside of dungeons).
use signet of the dolyak it will give you passive damage reduction and get you out of stun if you use it.i can handle several mobs of my level with ease (lvl 75-80 area now), it definitely shouldnt be a problem before that.
maybe you’re underleveled for the zone? then do something else and come back when you’re above it.

for dungeons you’ll want to run ranged exclusively or utility builds.

for wvw i can recommend longbow/rifle. its not good 1 vs 1, but they’re pretty good at taking people out at range, while staying relatively safe.and for huge events you should definitely use some ranged weapon along with your melee. take a few hits and then dodge away to let someone else take damage.
and this is my problem as a warrior…i want to play a warrior…I would be a RANGEr…if i wanted to use bows or guns…why should it be mandatory to be ranged
It always seemed to me that the monsters were pretty stupid to be so easily tricked into focusing the tank. Good riddence.
They aren’t easily tricked. Being a good tank was a very very challenging job, as you usually did less damage than dps but had to keep the threat up with taunts and shouts or something similar.
I have enjoyed this game very much and since its free will come back to it again over and over, but I have to agree with OP the dungeons are not fun for me currently.
I fully respect your opinion and the manner in which you delivered it…kudos.
I have a few issues myself such as the difficulty of dungeons and a feeling of repetitiveness. It is different than WoW, which I have no problem whatsoever admitting I played the crap out of, and it is similar in some respects.
I haven’t yet felt pulled in to the world and lore as I had hoped I would, but can sincerely appreciate the effort involved to create the game.
Fun, very large, well worth the admission price. But probably won’t keep my attention to much longer.

The user reviews on metacritic are actually more accurate than you may believe.
They are not there to provide in depth reporting on each and every thing they love or hate but rather to give the general public an idea of current opinion.
It works flawlessy for that very reason. A “0” or “10” score is perfectly acceptable if you understand the the underlying motivation. I like it or I dont like it. Makes no difference what number you put down as a rating as it still serves as a scale for what is liked or not.
Looking at individual scores and comments is not the way it is intended to work, but with thousands it paints a good picture.
First I’ll say that I have no information whatsoever of good or bad news.
Second, It seems rather premature for one person on one server in one part of the world, to suggest a pattern or problem when all they see is what is happening at their play time.
