Guild Wars 2

I’ve currently got several level 80 characters 2 of them fully kitted to the Meta (DPS staff ele and Condi Necro) but I’ve found myself getting bored.

So recently I started up another ele class and for this one I’m doing everything my own way. No crafting until I am level 80, no use of tomes of knowledge, no buying anything on TP (except bags for storage cause I loathe when my inventory is full) and my goals are to get to full exotic with the stats and runes I want to use and find a friendly bunch who want to do dungeons and such without caring about what people use (I’m aware awards are apparently rubbish atm I just haven’t done them yet. Lastly full world completion for the rewards so I can get Bifrost when I FINALLY get The Legend.

So, do you guys have any house rules or anything like what I’ve said?

People not being happy with their class does not mean it’s to do with DPS.
Currently the two best DPS classes are ele and engie

What is the name you’re after? Maybe try messaging them and find out if it’s a char they don’t use any more

Hey, this sounds like the kind of guild I’d like to join, it’s not too late is it? I’d message you in game as requested but currently BT (internet provider) is having issues I think due to the weather so I’m using my phone for internet.

I am also working so I’d be on probably between 4pm-8pm GMT +0 and have both serious characters (ele and necro) and a few mess about characters

Hi, I am looking to join a small active guild for PvE and I don’t mind playing WvW either as for PvP though I suck ankitten ot really looking to play it that much.
I am looking for a guild that plays more for fun so for example if we were to try a dungeon and fail they don’t get all kitteny and start blaming each other instead it’d be a case of “well we tried, it was fun at least!” that kind of mentality.

WvW server is Seafarers Rest though I don’t mind swapping to another if I do enjoy the guild.

I’d say currently we see complaining more because there’s nothing major and new added lately (past month) why does this mean more complaints? Well there are patches the have come etc.
some fixes/ balances will mess with people’s current playstyles/builds so they complain about that and patching can also cause new bugs for people to complain about whereas if you fix a boss and it’s now great you’ll get one maybe two threads starting up to say yay great etc that’s all whereas balancing causes a lot of negative ones to crop up because it affects many things so there are many things to complain about.

We are all used to the current content so we don’t open new threads to discuss the content whereas when the game was first released loads of people will be saying things like oh wow I found this!, this game is awesome!, first superior rune!, found this world boss here, wonder when he’ll be back etc etc there’s nothing new to discuss, builds are more or less set since they can’t realistically balance it so many many different builds are all equal value so what’s the point in discussing those (plus those are mostly in the class subforums) Basically there’s little to discuss except what to improve, balance etc.

I’d like this, atm I search for worlds that are 50%+ finished as I only have the time to complete it maybe twice a day (if I find 50%+ completed) or only once if less than that but I’d be happy to do it from 10% if it means I get more rewards or rewards equal to completing it twice from 50%+

I do play the way I want to play, otherwise I wouldn’t have fun! I have yet to do a dungeon and when I want to I will be searching for a group that doesn’t require me to do a specific playstyle

I honestly don’t have the experience to comment but you need to take into account that ele does more direct damage than Condi, and you aren’t taking into account skills + weapons you use as they’ll be different in your jack of all trades build to a pure dps build so I think you are losing out on more damage than you think

I have a couple of requests

1) The Legend, you know, that super cheap Staff pre-cursor :P

2) any of the shadow dyes or midnight dyes, they look awesome

Necro is great fun to use, I like being king of the minions and go for a minion build though I am looking at starting my own condition damage build necro (I have a necro as my secondary character just for fun so i cant help you when it comes to dungeons etc as I havent a clue) but it has a mechanic where you go into a death shroud which gives you other abilities and something like a new healthbar which gives you even more durability (necro is in lowest armour pool but largest health pool)

Elementalist is my primary class and it is both awful and fantastic. It is in the lowest health pool and armour pool which makes it the most fragile however i think I am right in saying it is the class that deals the most DPS if you go berserker build and staff.
Elementalist can switch between fire, water, earth and air attunements meaning in a fight it essentially has 20 weapon abilities instead of just 5. However, whilst fightiing they cant swap the weapons out like other classes (but still that means we have 20 weapon abilities vs other classes 10) Elementalist is great fun but until you are used to it you will die… a lot

So after looking in the Wiki it seems there are only 3 possible stat combos involving expertise;

Vigilant: major: Power, toughness. Minor: Concentration, expertise

Vipers: major: Power, condition damage. Minor: Precision, expertise

Trailblazers: major: Toughness, Condition damage. Minor: Vitality, expertise

Am I right in saying this is all? I was wanting to try making a Condi Necro of my own (second character that’s just for fun, please no discussion on how its pointless or anything like that) that would be

Major: Condition Damage, Expertise. Minor: Vitality, Precision/Power

Or am I blind/miss informed and there are more available

Personally (though I am far far from being an expert at this game) I am saving up to buy ascended accessories etc from a laurel merchant to increase my stats further. I’ll probably now get told there is a better way to get these than to spend my precious laurels on them but this is my 2 cents

So these aren’t working, they’re just directing me to the BLTC to buy boosts using gems even though I have all of those boosts in my inventory??

I’d happily stay but I don’t get on often and when I do there’s never a zerg rush so it’s always me on my own :/

Hi sorry if this has already been asked but I couldn’t find any threads

I’m looking to move to a world that has the serf rushes happening fairly often but not the top worlds, I’d like it to be somewhat competitive.

I’m currently in ruins of surmia but unfortunately it’s very underpopulated any good suggestions? I’m in the EU and probably won’t be able to join US as I’m on copper wire (yay for the countryside!)

Ok so I decided to grab full exotic gear (armour I mean) and went for berserker with the superior runes of the Ogre (I wanted strength but they cost 11g each) as for my staff I got 2 things (I forget their names) but basically I gain strength on crit hits (with my precision at 52% this is insanely useful) and something that replenished my dodges on a kill and oh my God the improvement was insane I’m dishing out a ton of damage plus due to the dodges I get on kills I last so much longer!

Thanks for the replies everyone! I’ll have a look at the video for the Condi ele when I can though from the sound of things it is generally better to just go for the max DPS, I plan to have a good play around with things anyway so I’ll try most things suggested when I hit ascended armour.

Am I right in saying ascended items can swap out their stats and runes?

I mostly use fire for damage then air for the CC and water for healing + slowing enemies so what would be best for that?

I’ve yet to get enough skill points to get far into tempest, is the only way left once you hit 80 the skill points on the map?

I wanted the title to be “Viability of condition damage Ele and basic ele questions” but it was too long.

Hi guys, I’ve had the game for about 6 months and played a fair bit. Messed around with half the classes and found Ele to be the most fun due to having the 4 elements to switch between and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t like the storm I can bring down on enemies (meteor storm >icebow attack 5 > glyph of storms then the flaming greatsword attack 5)
I’m trying mostly for a high DPS build

So since I main an ele I quite like the sheer amount of burn I can inflict on the enemy (I play almost exclusively PvE) so my first question is is it possible to have a good condition damage ele, I was thinking stats being Condi, power and precision on armour and weapons. Also what would be the best rune to use in armour and weapons for this build

I apologize in advance I don’t know the names of some of these off by heart!!! Just warning you
I also read somewhere arguably the best build is berserker (power, precision, ferocity) staff, arcane brilliance (I think it’s that, it’s the splash damage blast finisher heal spell), glyph of storms, the precision passive effect skill which burns on use, ice bow and the elite skill being elemental. Is this true, arguably one of the best, ok or wrong? Please explain how thanks!

What’s the best set of masteries to use? I’ve been going flame air and arcane is this good?
I’ve heard a lot of people saying the tempest one is great to use is this true and why?
Also I’ve yet to try out the D/D why does this work well? I thought we eles had little survivability.

What runes etc are best to use in an eles armour/weapon?

P.S. I don’t know a lot of the lingo used in these forums except basics like tank, glass cannon etc
