The option to toggle between the current combat mode and this combat mode.
I still want an official version of this so kitten bad.
It’s literally the only thing keeping me from playing more.
If it’s awkward to do content you’ve already done, you could try playing in some other race’s starting area. That might get expensive though, if you travel back and forth for story quests.
I heard that Anet actually considered implementing something similar but decided not to. Hopefully they change their minds, because trying out the mod only reveals that the original interface is horribly awkward for my playstyle.
All the functionality for an action game playstyle is already there, it’s just the interface that gets in the way.
Honestly I always thought the lack of these options in the game was a glaring oversight. Why have gameplay focused on movement and then force us to use keyboard hotkeys for most abilities? Why have such an advanced auto-target system and not put in a simple mouse-look toggle?
Any advantage this mod gives just reveals how awkward the original interface is.
Agreed! It’s cold in Hoelbrak and my warrior would like to wear a nice medium armor coat.
Here’s an update to the original video giving a lot more information.
This looks amazing!
As someone who likes playing a warrior and is disappointed by the appearance of heavy armor, I’d be all for this; unfortunately combining different armor pieces can result in some buggy textures and clipping issues. Fixing it would take a lot of effort.
Yeah, because of the slower backpedaling speed playing like this would put you at a disadvantage while kiting. I’m totally okay with that, though.
Ha, I made a thread suggesting this exact thing. Guess I should have looked around more first.
I’m definitely of the opinion that Guild Wars 2 + Tera controls = best game ever. Please put this in!
Big A** Monsters from Tera would be a nice addition too
This is a pretty simple request, all the mechanics are already in the game, we just need a bit more UI support.
Basically I just want to toggle mouse-look (rather than hold the right mouse button down all the time) and have an aiming reticle on the screen. The game already targets whatever you aim at automatically and the projectiles behave like real projectiles. I’m a big fan of the combat in Tera Online and Guild Wars 2 could be played almost identically to it with these small tweaks.
No more tab targeting or clicking! just aim and let loose!
