Precursor Armor - Now with bigger butt capes

That’s not even my biggest issue, or anywhere near it. Can anyone explain why this is necessary?

Even if my charr had breasts to hide, which she doesn’t, they wouldn’t be that low down on her body.

I’m all for variety in armour, and I understand that ‘scantily clad’ is the only setting female characters get with new armour releases, but on a charr? Why?

I’m fine with dresses, even if my female charr would never wear a dress. To each their own. More power to the sparklecats. But a bra? Bramour? ON A CHARR?

Urgh. I mean, I didn’t like medium armour anyway because of the face on the back, but this problem isn’t limited to the medium weight class:

I’m not going to go into some big long rant about gender, diversity, and tolerance. I’m not gonna spit the dummy and say I’ll never buy gems again. I’m just gonna say I don’t like this shift towards more feminine female charrmour. I want charr-bras and charr-dresses to be the rarity, not the norm, if we really must go in this direction.

Sure, the option is great to have for those who want to take it, but some of us don’t play Charrbies or glamkitties or sparklecats, and we’d like new armour options that reflect that.

Update: Symbolic Avenger Trait

I guess this isn’t the place to ask, but as the world boss exploits were probably reason for these emergency measures, are the HP buffs Tequatl and Triple Trouble received going to be rethought? The other world bosses are simply slow now, but surely it can’t be intended for the failure rate to be so high. And it’s going to be even higher without guardian damage to compensate.

I can’t believe this guy is actually for real.

You’re aware that handicapping your team by forcing them to 4-man from the start is a recipe for a loss for them in most cases? You’re aware that because you don’t want your time wasted, you’re instead forcing four other players to have theirs wasted on an almost guaranteed loss? Your time is somehow more valuable than theirs, is it?

As for practice mode not being ‘viable’ for you, you clearly haven’t even tried it. Your assessment of it is completely wrong. So I’ll give you this for free: It’s easy to game Practice matches for your daily. On average, you can get it done in five minutes or less if you know what you’re doing.

- Enter practice match
- See which team has the highest number of players/highest score
- Watch them, make sure they have people capping and are generally winning fights
- Join them
- Cap/defend/win as needed

If you can’t get on a favourable map, leave and enter practice mode again until you find one. Ideally, you want to find a match that’s just starting with 2 – 2 players on either team. Whichever you join will often outnumber the other at least for 60 seconds – enough to get a massive lead on the opposing team.

It’s cheap and dirty as tactics go, but that doesn’t sound like it’ll be an issue for you. Plus, you won’t be kitten ing four innocent strangers in unranked to a slanted match. If you truly believe this system is Anet’s fault, at least don’t punish your fellow players for it. Have that much courtesy.

What were you expecting? It’s a wooden sword. Talk about bringing a knife to a gunfight.

BROKEN: Emote Double Name & Range

I don’t really mind the range of emotes. It’s things like /dance and /wave that the range could be shortened on. It makes sense that you would be able to see an action despite not being able to hear spoken words, so /say and /me are fine as they are if you ask me.

But the double name thing is a really annoying bug and I hope it’s fixed soon. People with long names take up half the chat panel with their names pasted there twice per emote. Who’d think that was a good or even slightly intuitive idea?

Prediction: Why Rytlock Failed

in Living World

Snaff was the first member of Destiny’s Edge to die, actually.

There’s nothing strange about the location of the ritual. Rytlock (cheekily) doesn’t mention what he learnt from his studies, but I suspect the site was chosen for this reason:

Duke Barradin was brother to King Adelbern’s predecessor to the throne and should have been crowned instead of Adelbern, but did not press his claim. Adelbern and Rurik were not the rightful heirs to the throne. Barradin was. Barradin’s the one who’d need to take possession of Rytlock to complete the ritual. He’s no stranger to possession, if you think back to charr character creation! But would he be willing to end the Foefire curse? That’s the question that needs to be asked.

North America vs Europe PUGs

Tales of someone with extensive experience PUGing the easy dungeons in both regions!

Regarding AC: The NA stacking spot for Kholer drives me nuts. You can only see what’s going on if your camera stays at one specific angle, and he can fear you into the water if he gets behind the party. Take heed, NA friends: Stack in the 90° corner of the right hand pillar and you’ll be fine.

And while I can sort of understand skipping Kholer for certain paths, my P1 experiences with NA have been hilariously horrific.

One PUG I was in rushed south, and we wiped during the burrow event, forcing us to run back from the spawn WP. Okay, I guess we should’ve just not wiped, right? Lesson learnt. We completed the event, and then people started running up through the fire-breathing staircase. Oh my goodness, why? One went down. Another went to save him and they both died. Someone walked up there to rez the first two and died himself. They ran back aaall the way from the spawn WP. I should have dropped group at this point, but no. I was determined to see it through. What was our next move? Why, we went to kill Kholer, of course! Naturally, we wiped there too, twice, but hey, I had come that far. But apparently the opener had enough by then, because he nope’d out of the party with a rage-filled farewell, and I was left mourning the loss of the last forty minutes of my life.

I’m not even going to talk about the time I opened CoF P2 and had four people from the same guild join and ask me to teach them the path. I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. At certain points, I did both.

If you’re interested, I run an EA warrior and a might-stacking ele for dungeons.

Female Maguuma Centaurs?

in Living World

Where’re the females? I’ve been listening to a few of the centaur NPCs talking, and some of them sound vaguely feminine, but it’s kind of hard to tell. Did these guys simply not develop the gender dimorphism of their Krytan kin, or are they all male?

Does anyone know?

For reference, male and female centaurs side by side: https://d3b4yo2b5lbfy.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/55cda01-Living-World-Centaur.jpg
