Have to say nice balanced reset and saturday so far!
Also nice try on reset on our (RoF) garrison, i arrived to late at hills to stop your “sneaky” golem, but garrison was a different story, is Warp’s “property” ;P
All in all had lot of fun so that when i went to sleep was… 6am!

“ehi look at me i ran so many dungeons i can afford that commander thingy!”
“oh look this tower is nice, i want to claim it”

There should be NO way to unclaim something claimed by someone else, not until the commander badges r handled differently (and not just paid for)

This is my POV, from a guild that always claims, always upgrade (not just her tower), always take care of the tower/fort/keep , and run yaks if need be… there r too many noob commanders around to give’em such power

GS warrior is a nice class to play in WvW, unless u want to go around solo (which isn’t the point of WvW).
I like my longbow to open up and then charge in with GS, have a couple of other friends with ya and u’ll do wonders.
Hope you got the answer u were searching for, and yes i’m not an elite player, still usually avoid zergs and get plenty of kills

Honestly must be painfull to play in US T8 server, is not like T9 in EU is different, heck even T8 (where my server is) in EU ain’t perfect…
But have to agree with others, no solution to it, unless the bottom servers get “disbanded” and splitted in the ones right above, but i doubt any of you guys will gladly leave your own server, you’ve been fighting for it for months…
Kudos to all bottom tier servers that still show up and play! (and nope not being sarcastic)

It’s where u play with and against other players, which for me is the reason to play a MMO, if it’s for the story i play a single player game, if it’s just for some rifraf pvp i play a shooter.

Of course if you plan to make gold WvW ain’t a viable option in this game, at least way less than dungeoning, but again i prefer to beat a team of players with my team of firends, rather than beat a team of scripted pixels.

1st: That video totally blew me out, MJ + EVE online + Morricone’s music? great video
2nd: If u never tried EVE, and you like the “sandboxy” elements of GW you should definitively try it (spent almost 6 years there, till they decided cash shop+subscription was the way to go)
3rd: as long as i agree with the OP, i still think is pointless hoping to get a (real) sandbox experience out of GW2, wasn’t designed that way and will never become such, they will have to change too many mechanics, which will in the end affect also the PvE side “ruining” their product.

And Lavath EVE is still runing, and as far as i know kicking, 1 single server 200kish active players, all fighting for the same (and huge) space, just be prepared to set your alarm at weird times to save your base/POS from someone in a diff timezone, a base that maybe took your corp months (If not ages) to build ;P

Ok just wanted to say thank you to all my guildies for tonight event, and of course thanks also to BT for defending their BL like lions!
Had loads of fun (and badges) took lake tower, got spanked on the camp, tried hills and got spanked, took bay, and tried garrison, then our last golem went to search its soulmate on the wrong gate ;P
Tonight has been fun, first really fun night i had in weeks, pls keep fighting and gl to every server!

So looks like we might have another unbalanced week ahead of us, honestly hope not, but atm both Arborstone and Blacktide look heavily outnumbered, this ain’t better than being stomped by GH or RoS numbers (just making examples).
Managed to get couple of nice fights on reset and also yesterday, hope u guys can field more numbers, i like the fights to be hard (not impossible) and fun, GL!

p.s. on a side note, even if outnumbered (as a server) abusing the invulnerability spot at camps ain’t very cool, xpecially if the fight is not heavily unbalanced, i’m talking to ECG guys of arborstone, yr mesmers were good enugh to try and avoid that glitch :P

Warp would like to thank all guys, friends or foes that joined our lil event on Blacktide’s BL.
Started as a suicide run (no retreat, no ress no wp untill everyone is dead or enemy defeated), beated XT once then got beated by them couple of times (badly…), captured all lowlands, gettin into inner Hills, capturing Bay (when the rest of RoF guilds joined the fun) and helped capturing garrison.
All in all had a lot of fun so, thanks everyone involved!

A bit sad you had to step forward to brag about your guild numbers and proper abuse of a game technical issue, which is the only gamestyle you guys use (except some random guys who usually dies badly as everyone else), a bit sad ’cause like i said earlier we had a lot of fun in this matchup.

Coming from several years of EVE i can just say that the only reason zergs r so popular in this game is: no real penalty for deaths.
I’m talking about zergs (so mindless lemmings) not huge groups of organized players, which r a completely different stuff and should be allowed in a WvW map.

Maybe the maps are too small and with few objectives (maybe), takes too few to a zerg to get across a map, but maybe the problem is that we shouldn’t be allowed to insta know where our enemies are hitting just by pressing “m”.

What i wouldn’t like is WvW to become the home of solo duels for ego maniacs (i.e. camping ppl out of spawn areas with their broken stealth thief) , there’s sPvP for that (and yes is not that good either), WvW should allow tactical play for small/medium/large groups.

In the end the real problem is not the game (with all its issues and limitations), is the people, humans tend to flock up ‘cause they feel safer, and to do that they prefer someone else to take the lead so they can turn off their brains and be good lemmings, xpecially if they know they’r gonna loose nothing (some silvers for repairs…pff).

Agree with others, you can outsmart a zerg ALWAYS, if you actually know what you’r goin to face, so culling IS a big issue.

That’s one of the reasons i always try to stay clear of “real” leadership roles, i simply can’t stand cheaters (or arrogant morons) so i generally kick’em: 1 warning, still doin it? go somewhere else, that’s the door.

Anyway still good fights, thou culling is worse (in 8-10 tryin to attack Bay and couldn’t see the ones manning the rams, with no enemy visible), and future reset made lot of ppl disappear from all servers leaving just some big organized guilds (XT above all, have to admit they can “abuse” culling very well, guess experience from higher pop servers) which on their own are a zerg.

Now if u consider that u have more players than us (at least better distributed over the clock?) i stil wonder y at times (not always) i see you guys working togheter, and i don’t mean both attacking RoF (that’s normal) i mean something like standing on the same SM wall shooting RoF players tryin to get in

Warp event went good, then ICON’s (bigger one) kicked in and we got your Garrison, in the while on EB SM turned blue…

Have to admit after 2 weeks with the same rivals is good to have new (but old) ones around.
More than the simple amount of ppl (RoS should have some more than us and UW, but u never know) guess it’s their coverage of the clock that is impressive.
Logged on for reset (1am my time) and went to sleep at 7am except for the last hour RoS was always around (and not just 3-4 guys), we managed to upgrade all our BL but 2 hours later we were sleeping while RoS guys were not…
Oh well have to admit is fun fighting you guys, so please don’t drag in some new mammoth guild to make it uneven and waste the fun.

RoF is a nice WvW server, and the guilds listed above are the biggest ones but no the only ones.
Some small/medium guilds (like mine) are not in the alliance, for various reasons. (After all we are Shadows In The Warp ;P ), but held regular events etc…
Why i say that? To let you guys know RoF has more than just big guilds.

hmm smells like a troll tbh but still, in WvW u can team up with your friends (like PvE), HAVE to use different strategies ‘cause enemies are other players not scripted AIs (unlike PvE), you can choose either to be a sheep and follow the zerg (then it becomes similar to PvE) or just go roaming with yr lil group of friends (and gettin tons of fun), after a while you start actually knowing some new people (not just your friends and/or guild), you can use siege (and can be fun) and wonder what? you can even do some PvE (sadly).
Personally i never play a MMO which doesn’t have some kind of “large scale” pvp, so GW2 WvW is good, but if you don’t like it, just avoid WvW or find another game without it.

Still agree with someone above me, a zerg that big shouldn’t have been stopped by such a small force, but that’s the problem of all mindless zergs.
And again, coming from a game where when u die you loose stuff (EVE) i still can’t figure out y ppl is so afraid of pushing into the enemies, xpecially in situations like this.

You read what i wrote on my previous (and first) post? you guys r not that good at all, we aren’t either, the 1st week numbers were equal and u guys handled it better , kudos (thou u were whining on our superior numbers).
The second week you were already outnumbering us , in the prime times, not by far agree, and guess that was thanks to your “recruiting PvErs” policy.
You were in a hurry to get out of this tier, so u “hired” at least 1 big guild and 1-2 other small ones for the 3rd week.

GL to you all, and i’m not sarcastic, loved to fight some of your guys.

1. If i want to play with my friends, y in the first place i choose another server? Is not like there’s no way to get in touch outside of a MMO :P
2. Highly doubt any of the servers is in such a dire condition that players are not able to find someone to party/dungoen with. Just requires the will to ask/type in chat instead of waiting passively for an invite (my server isn’t a big one btw).

Server change, imo, was a mistake (like in every game), a free one was even worse (xpecially considering the game has a server Vs server PvP feature), and i agree with this thread, announcing it ahead of time was even worse, at least from a WvW point of view.

RoF player here (tall norn dreadlock girl member of Warp, that usually charges mindlessly and dies horribly hehe)

Ok it is 2:1 “only” during reset time (and w-end prime time) while in the morning numbers r even (or slightly on our side), now u see where i’m heading?
When “everyone” is online GH outnumbers us and capture SM, upgrade towers etc, when no one is around RoF (but same goes for WSR) struggles to take back what was lost.(and then, with some exceptions, forget to upgrade…sigh).

That said i personally am having a lot of fun playing with my guildmates, just know our limits (as a server) and know that there’s gonna be no way for us to win this matchup, we’r too outnumbered for our server game style.

Kudos to everyone on the field, xpecially to WSR who held it’s ground badly outnumbered till now, luckily u guys got couple of new guilds (those WAR fielded something like 20 guys on our BL).
