It’ll either be a big nerf to the drop rates or rewards from champ circuits (hopefully just by some form of DR on champs), or something to soak up all that extra cash. If it’s the latter, that’ll just further screw all the people who didn’t farm the events hard by mindlessly grinding them when they were highly profitable. Already hit by the inflation through preferring to enjoy the game rather than endlessly repeat actions in a mindless zerg, I hope we don’t get hit with a second disadvantage in trying to rectify all that gold sloshing about suddenly

Why am I fine with most 50+ character zergs in WvW, or 40+ characters spamming attacks on a world event boss, yet a lot of the time I even start a pvp instance like Dragon Bash, Keg Brawl, or sPVP matches there is instant crippling lag, rubberbanding, freezing for long periods, and even complete disconnects? Then when I leave those specifically pvp-related instances I’m back to having no lag problems at all?

Please don’t feed me the ‘ISP’ line or suggest I turn my computer off and then on again. It’s specific to small pvp instances, and as such it means dailies and Dragon Bash achievements are massively difficult to struggle through, penalising whichever team I join and usually cause to lose because of my restricted participation.

The problem isn’t farming per se, it’s the disparity between the new char deletion method and regular chars.

1) The daily chest restriction was obviously put in for a reason

2) In allowing create/delete to bypass the restrictions, Anet are implicitely saying, ‘The effort of creating a new char and running through the intro is sufficient to justify the reward of new chests’

3) There is no such additional effort an established character can go to in order to get extra chests.

Why have a ‘once per day per character’ restriction at all if it can be bypassed by new characters but there’s no way to bypass it for established characters?

If the ‘time spent’ creating a new char and speedrunning through the intro is considered sufficient to unlock all the daily chest restrictions for a newly created character, why isn’t there a simlar option for established characters?

The whole game is centered around creating an attatchment to characters and dressing them up in fancy outfits, then whenever non-level-locked content comes out is suddenly becomes considerably more beneficial to mothball the characters you’ve spent so long pimping out, in favour of faceless L1 clones who are exempt from the restrictions put in (presumably) to prevent farming.

Why repeatedly put in ‘once per day per character’ restrictions but allow such a simple way to bypass them? If I can do SAB chests 20 times in a row on a series of L1 clones, why can’t I do it on my main character by completing a ‘reset chests’ task of simlar length to the char creation and intro process?

Just make chests for all events which are subject to the ‘1 per day per character’ coding limitation, also unavailable to guesting characters.

It makes absolutely no sense that I can’t get a reward while adventuring on my home server with a friend or guildie when a boss appears in the area because I happened to have killed it this morning, but someone can surf servers alone with different characters cherry-picking dragon chests events to their heart’s content.

If guesting is meant to facilitate friends on different servers playing together, restricting the highly contested open world event chests will have negligable impact. They can still do dungeons, fractals, zone completions, achievement grinding, explorations, and everything else. All it would stop is leaping about from server to server when dragons are due to spawn.

If guesting isn’t causing the chest event overflows, then implementing this wouldn’t negatively effect anyone. The coding also should be viable (add a check for ‘guesting’ tag along with the ‘first chest of the day’ check)

Best fun I’ve had in the game to date.

1st run: My group and I didn’t have much of a clue and wiped during the second 3rd wave. I’d figured out the building was key, and a few hurried suggestions were thrown around before the next run

2nd run: We built a lot more. One unfortunate miniboss spawn wiped out two of our donkeys in one swoop. We survived all 10 rounds, but it was hectic right to the last

3rd run: By the 7th wave, our base was a sight to behold. Inner keep was fully walled, and had a secondary outer keep of basic walls encasing the base, as well as chole points on every entrance to the dias. Balistas and Catapults everywhere, and a few out in the field to delay and distract. For the final two waves, nothing even got close. We could’ve survived another 10 I think lol.

The one suggestion I’d make is to award for building and not just killshots

It’ll be a shame if you reduced the full 5 donkey requirement. I’m hardly ‘elite skilled’, but found it enjoyable, tactical and gave a great sense of accomplishment when we got the achievement. If I’d got the achievement with just 1 donkey, I wouldn’t of bothered going again, refining the strategy and eventually overcoming the event.

It’s not rocket science. Do something once, you’re not exploiting. Do something 10 times, you’re probably not exploiting. Sit there for hours on end doing the same mundane task with no risk and high reward from something that was only implemented a few hours previously, and you’re almost certainly exploiting.

If it is (a) quickly repeatable and (b) exponentially more profitable than anything you’ve come across while adventuring, then it’s almost certainly an exploit. You’re more than welcome to try to take advantage of it in case it isn’t discovered, but don’t whine when the inevitable happens and you get caught with your hands in the cookie jar.

So it’s a great plan to be releasing it at 5pm, right at probably the highest possible concurrent user time (just before euros log off), and right as the majority of on-site employees head home for the night, right as the customer support lines close…?

I can understand the idea of simultaneous global launches (otherwise everyone would just move servers to the first regions to get it, and then move back at the most profitable time to gain an extra day, along with all the people from the original first regions).

But 5pm PST launches mean PST get to play all evening, EST get later evening, and the rest of the world gets nothing pretty much… I know the old, ’It’s a ‘merkin game y’all, YEEHAW!!!’ redneck mantra, but still… If it was, say, 8am PST they get it all day, then EST get it at lunchtime, all of Europe gets a decent amount of evening play, lessening the further east you go. It’s not until you get to the far east and Australisia that people start missing out – a much smaller percentage of the whole gaming base.
