You have to accept you will lose sometimes. I know you are probably the biggest rager i have seen in any game, but you just have to accept it.

It is just pathetic how you can duo q with pro league ele/necro at 4am and you cant even win a game cause your teammates literally block any chance of winning.

I want to be rewarded for playing better than my opponents. The matchmaking is not reliable at all. The balancing is not made for duo q either.

Neither you or Posi are qualified to ever be considered PRO LEAGUE players in the first place. The only reason you ever reached anywhere considerably close to competing at live events is either by being carried by a team and later getting kicked due to incompetence (Zapdos) or cheating your way into a competitive spot for an event by ddosing your opponents or having other (better) players participating on your account for you. The only live event Posi attended was the one mine and Helseths team was disqualified from and Paradigm who actually took first place in qualifier also ended up being disqualified from due to nationalities not aligning with the rules. Maybe you should just accept that on an actual gameplay level your mechanics is average and you do not deserve to be anywhere close to top 10 on EU leaderboard.

On the topic of Warrior.

Berserker Stance, what breaks the skill is the duration, it wasnt used much pre buff for a reason. I would say you nerf it to 4 seconds, 5 seconds with stance duration. For it to still be a good choice, the fundamentals of condi application in the game need to be changed. At the moment main amount of condis are applied through aoe skills, it is hard to predict aoe skills hence why a 8 or 10 second immunity is good. If condis were applied through single target skills, a 4 second window would still be worth because it woudlnt be impossible to make great use of it. if you could predict the condi applications and not just got aoe flucked in a teamfight.

On the topic of Elementalist.

- Meteor shower, what made it broken is that they buffed the radius of each individual meteor hit. The nerf should be to the radius of the individual meteor zones and not the area of the storm itself.

I just wanted to thank Josh and everyone at Anet who took the time to do some post release polish in response to the feedback. I can’t wait to try it out, although our guild already got a group through 2-2. We still have some people who haven’t.

I am sorry but this patch just ruined SAB Tribulation mode, if you couldnt make it before patch you did not deserve to.

Hello,

I go by the name of Denshee and I play for Denial Esports/The Civilized Gentlemen.

For the past couple of months I have put a lot of time into this game, not only because I enjoy the gameplay but because I believed this game could go places in terms of Esports. I commited my time first into Idle and now into Denial/TCG and by a lot of time I mean about 4-5 h of team practice 6 days a week. Outside of that I played the game with friends or alone for fun. For a while i have been doing this while working 8am-5pm (a lot of people do this nothing special about it), but I have dedicated all of my free time in preparation of the tournaments coming up. Just this week I took two days off work to “learn” s/d thief in case it was of need for my team in the tournament.

This applies to every single member of our team, Helseth espeically. Even Battosai who stepped in as our fifth when Vanish was not eligible to participate due to his age, have spent numerous hours into making it work. In all honesty we were one of the top contenders to win this tournament.

Now with this said I hope you can understand that the ban one day ahead of when the qualifiers start comes as quite the shock. I cant defend Helseths actions nor do I intend to but I can voice my concern that I think you (Arenanet) have handled this case without any respect to the other parties involved. Would I be out of my mind if I propose you let Helseth act as our fifth through the qualifiers and then we replace him if we earn a place at PAX?

At this time this is all I have to say, looking forward to a response.

Analysis of Cantrips Eles

I would like to add my two cents about elementalist.

The main issue I have with the cantrip (clerics) elementalist is the mix of tankyness with healing, most eles do not even use this anywhere near it’s full extent. When you have the high toughness and not to speak of protection uptime, the heals that basicly work as effective HP for the elementalist (due to low hp pool and armor) can 90% of the time be used to heal other members of the team.

From a teamplay aspect this is great, but due to the high tankyness of the ele and if you run Ether Renewal, healing only partymembers rarely even put you in a sacrificial position. You can nerf the healing of the ele and that will be good but it feels like you instead can nerf the tankyness and keep the heals, forcing the ele to choose between healing him-/herself or party members. The main issue here lies in the attributes/stats of amulets, toughness and healing power, as these two stats scale the best off each other. Instead I would love to see amulets that maybe give vitality and healing or even a minor nerf to the vitality and add a forth stat. This way the ele would lose the tankyness but keep the healing forcing them to choose how to use it. It would also give enemies the opportunity to burst them down in between healing rotations.

Another way to hit the tanky attributes of the ele would be to nerf the uptime of protection from “Elemental Attunement” or/together with a nerf to “Armor of Earth”.
Either you nerf the protection uptime given by the cantrip “Armor of Earth” this might make it quite useless as a utility but would be a way to fix the issue or you make it so that the utility and the passive proc from the Earth traitline share cooldown so that you will have to choose which one to get, hence nerfing the uptime of protection.

This is just some “minor” ideas of how you could tone down the bunker ele without breaking the other builds too much.

Please make conjure weapons instant cast time and maybe increase the cooldown or something, so that they are actually usable.

Tcbear, I would just like to add that I actually got my rank 1 partly due to soloq. I did soloq for about 4 weeks because at that time we all expected a reset, the reset never came and my winratio is what it is.

The point about all the high ranks playing during nighttime is not true at all because I never did it and on the EU servers I know players that did. They ended up alot further down on the ranking status probably because beating soloq players at night gave less rating.

Elementalist Changes

Hello,

This thread will be addressing some changes that could be made to the Elementalist, mainly focusing on weapon skills.

We all know that the Scepter Dagger set is very strong and has been abused for a long time especially in the form of bunker with out of this world sustain. The hit to Evasive arcana was a step towards less healing but did not hit the main skill Water Trident.

Water Trident should be nerfed healing wise, a 20 second cooldown heal (traited 16 seconds) is what makes the scepter the go to weapon for any bunker, together with the blinds and Rock Barrier.

Following I will address some changes that can be made to scepter but especially the focus offhand to make it more viable.

- Water Trident (Scepter): nerf the healing.
- Shatterstone (Scepter): make it do something outside of a two second cast time, bring down the cast-time or make the cast time worth it.
- Ride the lightning (Dagger offhand):personally 20 seconds is decent but 25 seconds would make it more a skill to think when to use. A higher cooldown then 25 could be possible.
- Flamewall (Focus): Reduce the cast time 1/2 or 1/3 of a second would make it more useful, 1 second cast to create a fire field that applies one stack of burning and does a small amount of damage compared the the same slot skill on dagger offhand: Ring of fire that does instant damage of about 900 in tooltip compared to 200 for Flamewall. Ring of fire also applies 5 seconds of burning every time someone enters / leaves the ring. Ring of fire has 15 seconds cooldown compared to Flamewalls 20 seconds.
Would suggest you make some other change to this skill as well, increase the dmg or increase the burning applied for each tick.
- Gale (Focus): 50 seconds of cooldown, it is great that it is ranged but compared to Updraft (40 secodns cooldown) to aoe knockback/down apply 10 seconds of swiftness and make you evade attacks. At least bring down the cooldown of Gale to balance the tradeoff, possibly add some damage to.
-Freezing Gust (Focus): A 25 second range 3 second chill, this is what you get instead of frost aura: 10% damage reduction for 7 seconds + apply 2 seconds of chill every one second when stricken. Make it instant cast time and increase the damage of it since focus overall lacks damage abilities.

And please erase the cast time of conjure weapons, maybe with a small increase in cooldown. I would love to make builds around them or just incorporate the skill combinations. The same could be said about Glyphs, if for example Glyph of Elemental power had no cast time I can make it work in numerous builds.
Right now Cantrips and Arcane spells just dominate the other utilities.

Alot more can be talked about when it comes to Elementalist but I stop here for now.

"Solo" Que

I would like to describe my soloque experience.

I got quite high rating really fast, by playing solo or with a friend or two. I think I won about 20-30 games while I lost maybe 2-3.
After that my rating was so high that I would sit in roster for 10 minutes before I would be matched with a team and end up vs teams like Curse, NN or Chieftain Ninjas. Interesting part here is that the poor players that ended up on my team were in between rank 1-15. So these players just trying to do some soloque end up vs these high end teams because my rating is high and i can not get matched up against anything els. This is because the team gets an average rating instead of matching me up with players on an equal rating.
For the teams i end up against it is no fun experience either, if you queue with your full team you want to play vs another full team. A coordinated team will not get a challenge out of a sologroup even though it might be top end players, communication is key in this game.

I should also note that this is no bug (the long queues I am experiencing), I ended up 2 games in a row with Phantaram and Klikacz. After we won those two games they continued to get queue pops while I sat 20+ minutes in roster without any succes.

Your form of a soloque works for lowrating players, where they will get instant queue but once you get a decent rating you will only be matched up against teams and pugs, so what is the point of this soloque? last 10 games i have played solo have been vs pugs/teams I have been asking at the start of the matches to be sure.

It is extremely annoying and frustrating to try and play as a solo player when you are matched up against teams on a form of teamspeak. It is by no means only me feeling this way, as stated earlier in this thread.

The single round free is by far the most popular so why will you not make a second one instead of the three round (three round free should be the daily, monthly and so on tournament setting otherwise it is nothing special with the daily one if you can do it anytime you want). One of the two single round frees should be dedicated to soloqueue and possible even duoqueue if you can work that out.

My two cents.

Solo queue: 3 round map
Team queue: 1 round map

I thought about it as well but if the 3 round map will be the soloq it will turn out as a afk party. Where the first map will be played and second map will come down to who has the team of 5.

While the proposal is a good one, I still don’t see how going back to a 3-round tournament is even considered by Anet, when they actually moved away from it so that queue pops would be more frequent in the first place.

If we split it in solo and group queues, we’ll see the same issues we saw before, except that there are probably going to be even less pops.

It is a possibility yes, would be great if anet just brought us two 1 round queues. One for soloq and one for teamq. But as it is not in the patch we might as well try catch their attention for a soloq with the community making its own one. This will hopefully show them the importance of it.

Unofficial Soloq

Hello everyone,

I would like to propose the idea of making the coming Single Round Free Tournaments the unofficial soloq/duoq. Since Arenanet at this point has not provided us with one, we will have to gather up and create one ourselves.

Basicly this is made possible due to the fact that it has its own rating apart from the 3 Round Free, so teams will not be affected in their overall rating by queuing in the soloq.
We make it the unspoken rule that you queue up as one or two players as in most soloq environments in other games.

The only downside I see to this is at the start teams might possibly suffer from longer queues due to the 8 team requirement but in the end soloq will bring forth numerous new teams and that way it will no longer be an issue.

Edit- This should probably be underlined:
Instead, we’ll have 1-round Free Tournaments and 3-round Free Tournaments. Both of these tournament types will use a separate rating for the purposes of matchmaking.

Any other suggestions are appreciated.

The low-down on the "Solo-Queue" Fiasco

Alot about why soloqueue should be added to the game has been said and I stand behind it completely.

Soloqueue attracts new players to the game and may in many cases bring back old players that had no chance to commit themselves to a team or felt that the game was missing out on key infrastructure like a matchmaking system.

Pure reason I ever played LoL was to climb the ladder.

Why did I go back to CS 1.6?
Because Playnation opened and there was a ladder to compete on, I even played 1v1 because it had some form of stakes.

Saying to players that there is a chance to be matched against a full team turns them off, even though it might be slim. Not everyone is on equal terms in such a system.
