Points for strawmanning an ad hominem, but hijacking your own thread takes art.
I also think it is too difficult to predict how and where the changes will take place.
GW1 used MM in PvP. Just needed a teammate to sac out (kill themselves with Blood is Power or other skill) over and over while waiting for match to start.
If you are still leveling don’t worry too much, unless you die a lot. Use https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/mesmer/Guide-Kai-s-Complete-PvE-Compendium/ to get you going and play around. Still try to use shatters for final burst and some interrupt/defense. You’ll want those skills later.
Mainhand focus! Dual fans and 1 year of confusing Winds of Chaos (staff) with Winds of Chaos (focus).
Joking aside, maybe a 900 range axe would work. I’d be ok with an axe/focus, sw/sw build. Or fix scepter. Just let go of clone on auto and put it on 2or 3.
(I really just wanted to say my joke, but tried to be a little constructive.)

The bread and butter for Illusionists IRL is to make stuff disappear. Like the Statue of Liberty, audience volunteers, and even themselves; only to reappear in an unexpected place. Illusion is making you see what isn’t there and believe it is (clones) and not see what is actually there (misdirection, stealth). Seems pretty in line to Mesmer to me.
Ha! If everyone read Pyro as an Asuran, I bet fewer people would complain about tone and demeanor!
I understand the concern, but I think it works. A large group should be able to waste one or two guys charging in before they can pick up and strangle their Asuran Engineer. For me, the large GTS area feels more like two large groups in grand scale fighting. Like I just poked the hornets nest
For clashing as a group, build siege if it makes sense. Try to flank or have a Mesmer blink and port to the other side of the GTS. I feel the same pain, but it feels the same as if I got feared off a cliff. It just means things didn’t go my way that time.
Maybe your class will get taunts? Won’t that be funny, two turtling zergs and then one guy from the other zerg Leroys out and gets picked off.
This is a known and much talked about issue in WvW. You are just the first one to put it in the right forum.

Please add video card info to reported issues. On another thread a guild had mentioned that it seemed to be nVidia card users experiencing this problem. This should probably move to bug forum. If there isn’t a post already, then you could be the hero that saves WvW!
They fixed the reflection lasting longer than the animation.
It doesn’t seem like a bad idea if it started that way from the beginning. Perhaps they could remove the commander tag on the update and revert it back to the Commander’s Compendium. Then make the Compendiums tradable for a compendium of a different color.
Or just make you choose a color when you first use it after the update.
Hmmm. Gw1 had a degen/regen system. Bleed gives 2 points of degen, burning gives 4, regen gives 3 points the other way for total degen of 3. They also had a max degen level.
This isn’t a full solution. Maybe max the degen at 25 points and rework cond. Would lose condition damage as a stat though. What could replace it or work I. That kind of system?
Another option might be to just stop checking stats once condi applied. Set it and forget it. That might decrease server load and allow for newer dynamics. Isn’t condi more of a I set you on fire and you burn for a bit while I kite anyhow? If I get might later it’s not like I retroactively set a better fire. Direct damage, if I get a boon before I hit you I do hit you harder. If I get a boon later , well, I already hit you.
Edit: back to degen ticks, maybe give world bosses more than 25.

I was just tired of people saying only L2P or taking pot shots at posters without saying anything constructive. Glad you appreciated it.
Here are some great threads and vids with a staff ele in pvp and also against thieves. This is where I went first to “L2P” myself.
Human
Male
Mesmer
Town Clothes (Default)
Devil Horns from the Halloween event do not dye completely, dyes the ascot/tie in town clothes, and creates a see through square gap in the town clothes vest.
For most condition builds you use clones to apply conditions and you don’t shatter them. This is especially true if you pick the clone death traits. So, they neither shatter nor use phantasms.
The bug is that armor on clones uses default stats to prevent Runes from your armor also applying to clones. Dungeon or named sets have “default” Runes, so the on hit effects stay even though you have replaced them. Works with Khilbron’s, my clones spawn jagged horrors on hit about 5% of time.
I prefer to maintain phantasms, but shatter whenever mobs/players move away from warden (unless I am using him as a regen and safe base). Descent into Madness was mainly for WvW. When defending I love throwing Warden and Feedback on rams, jumping down for storm, then popping clones as I roll back into the tower/keep.
I have zerker and cele armor in my bank, so I’ll dust off the zerker and give a 10/20/20/20/0 and 0/30/20/20/0 a try.
Asking for some guidance here to improve my damage output. I’m not tied to condi, but I do want to use the staff and traited focus. I use this mostly for PvE and small group roaming in WvW. Some dungeons.
Basically I am running a 0/20/20/20/0. I miss the extra bounce on staff, but figure I shouldn’t optimize my build around an auto-attack. Mostly Rabid gear and was trying Perplexity instead of Undead for a bit.
Dueling – I and X (If I swap in my zerk Sword/Sup Sigil of Fire I use IV instead of I)
Chaos – V and X currently running this at 30 for more condi dmg and to play with other Chaos traits like II and IV
Inspiration – II and VIII (will swap Glamour cd for Medic’s Feedback when useful)ies
Skills: Ether Feast, Feedback, Null Field, Blink, Mistfire Wolf (I frequently sub in TW, Portal, and others based on situation.)
This is me moving away from my previous condi build and I really like the traited focus. When I play, I feel smooth and it fits my playstyle. I swap frequently between staff and MH/Focus. However, actual results-wise, I feel like I am halfway between my old build and where I should be. Any advice or gear suggestions?
Even though the game may say you completed the Borderlands, you have to do all three. It is just because they all have the same name. Check all 3 and make sure you zoom in to the points/vistas to be sure.
Thanks guys. I do indeed use Midnight Ice for my “black”. (I found it my first week when I was clicking everything I found to see what it did.) I use Shy Violet for the metal effects.
I kept trying to change dyes inside a Chaos Storm for accent color to see what matches but just am not that talented at quickly changing dyes. I think I’ll give Phlox and Pride a go. In all likelihood this will just become another thing I tweak endlessly, like my build. Just trying to nail it because I finally got a full set if Khilbron’s and suddenly Care very deeply about my armor.
I’m basically looking for a dye that I can trim “black” armor with that will match most mesmer effects.
