Win a League Game then lose points?

A friend and myself just que’d together for a League PVP match and we won about 500-360 and it was 4v5 in the enemy teams favor for about 3 minutes of the game due to someone disconnecting. Though once the game was over we lost points… I almost feel as though winning 4v5 we should have been awarded double points not losing points.. Is this a bug or is there a reason for this?

This really puts my necro play to shame I just wish that the Staff wasnt a huge part of this build. Nothing against the staff… It just seems like it is the only viable weapon for a necromancer.

I disagree with bhawb. They did this marvelous thing in GW1 where they toned down skills for pvp. What they could do is entirely ignore the corpse factor and just make your minnions stronger and more of them for PVE play. Because in PVE minnion master builds are useless and in PVP they are a little hard to deal with.

The main reason for this, is in PVE you really need to focus fire and well you cant command your minnions they do w/e they want. While in PVP there is usually only 1 or 2 targets for the minnions to go after so it isnt neccesary to command them. They get the job done.

I would really like to see PVP downgrades to minnions and PVE upgrades rather than bringing back the old system where you had to use corpses.

Just a thought.

A leap or two would be nice. A dual dagger rework would also be nice. I like the way daggers look but refuse to use them due to being total crap.. Sitting at close range with a light armor to deal low damage have no leap and small healing and other deffensive capabilities is unreasonable when you can just kite with a ranged weapon.

I’m not saying pick either hammer or g-sword necro. Im saying that all weapons should be release on all classes. This is just the one Im most enthusiastic about. as for saying its too close to the anime style you hate… don’t play an ANIMATED video game then. That is the most ridiculous comment I’ve ever read. I would love to play more unique builds with a larger variety of weapons and I know a lot of other people would too. So I’m currently working on concept art for the build I’ve written and I’ll post a more accurate build again soon.

To further elaborate on my distress of not being allowed to build in similar ways to the first game. Someone tried to mock my idea of a greatsword necromancer by mentioning a staff theif. Now… anyone who played guildwars will tell you staff “assassins” were possibly the most infamous and abused class around. I think they are more well known as perma-sins. I would actually love to see that build brought into guild wars 2 for the theif if only to mock the old build. Obviously with a massive change to the invincibility factor.

I could teleport, life steal, use a sword, sprint, lay down heavy (non condition) dps as well as condition dps. I could also command my own kittening army. Minnions in anything other than PVP are pathetic… In Guild Wars a minnion master was almost essential. It was highly desired, but in Guild Wars 2 dare I say it is useless?

To be honest eventually I would like to see every weapon open up for every class. because that was the way Guild Wars was, and to see the Sequel have less variation than the first game is a bit of a let down. I understand that there was no skills based on having a sword for a necromancer. However that wasn’t the point. Being able to play the necromancer with the “Dead Sword” Skin was bad kitten . I would love to play a necromancer in Guild Wars 2 that didn’t feel ultimately… lame. I have a sick set of gear but my play-style and skill build is nothing in comparison to what I had in Guild Wars.

I don’t understand the statement you just made. I just play a number of other pc games where I bind my attack to my mouse1 and guild wars is the only game I know that doesn’t allow this.

This is a simple post;

In an upcoming patch, or two, or three, I would love to see mouse bindings implemented. Currently the only thing the mouse does is camera pan. I would like be able to bind my mouse1 (left click) to my skill 1 but it isn’t an option. So I have bound mouse3 to skill 1 but I would like to be using mouse3 as my interact. Then I would still have mouse2 available for the camera pan.

Please take some serious consideration into making mouse buttons bindable.

A lot of people have the same problem. I have a large list of fixes for you that do not work so that you know you won’t have to try them.
- cmd command “netsh winsock reset”, “ipconfig/ flushdns”
- opening ports 80,443,6112,and 6600 on your router
- reinstalling the game
- running command lines in game properties “-diag, -verify, -repair”
- shutting down windows firewall setting exceptions etc none of it works
- removing antivirus software
- downloading new nividia drivers
- removing programs like microsoft silverlight

Something I noticed today is I have recieved multiple emails saying my account has been banned due to buying gold or something. Which I haven’t except through the guildwars legal BLTP. I have looked up these emails and learned they are “phishing” but is there a possibility that someone could have tampered with my account even if I didnt select the links in these emails?

Not to further harass but I’m experiencing similar problems as GrayFox. I haven’t been able to play for 3 weeks now I only submitted one ticket and well 10 days later I’m still waiting for a response. Because I didn’t get one at all.

Phising + Error 42

I have recieved multiple “phising” emails I have not selected any of the links inside but now when trying to access my account I am getting error 42. If I get passed this error and into the game I am booted when I try to change areas via waypoint VerifyAccess failed or denied access with 0×80070716 – 1. I have tried every fix posted on the guildwars support page.

Does this mean my account has been taken? Or is it that my account has actually been suspended and that it wasnt a “phishing” email? It has been 3 weeks since I have been able to play.

I am from Canada, I have deleted all antivirus software I have done multiple searches for any remaining antivirus software after running uninstall tools and manually removing any left over files. I did not mention but I also re-installed the game completely.

I am experiencing an error:
The game client is unable to gain access to the log-in server at this time. This is most commonly caused by firewall or router settings security applications or connecting through a campus network. For addition support, please visit http://support.guildwars2.com.

I have submitted a tag on your support page with a little description of this problem but that was several days ago with no reply. I have tried everything on your list of possibilities and probabilities for this issue; with no success. I have opened ports in my router which already has no security settings, I have deactivated my already low setting firewall that had Guild Wars 2 as an exception. I have downloaded a new Video Driver. I have used CMD commands such as ipconfig/flushdns and netsh winsock reset. I have deleted and removed any and all software that has been said to cause trouble with Guild Wars 2 (Maybe I have another program that wasn’t on the list?) I have removed my already not in use antivirus software. I had it disabled but now its gone completely. I really don’t know what is left to do…

Please… any relevant feed back would be appreciated.
(Between guild wars (the original) and guild wars 2; I have spent over 500$ on your games. I would really like to be able to play again. I have been unable to play for two weeks now.)

Incorrect fix! I have 64bit windows and I have the same error.

The only fix is to reinstall Windows with the 64bit version you are using the 32bit version that has a 3.5g memory limit that is causing your OOM error

I have a very similar crash but it is occuring whenever I try to load a new area. I would appreciate any feedback on fixes because my firewall is not in use and that is the only hint I have gotten as to what could be wrong.

Art Scaling of Weapons

To further contrast players and add more diversity to the customization in guild wars 2 I think ALL weapons should be put on a player decided scaling system. Allowing any race to have there weapons scaled to the size they wish. For example Charr have massive weapons and while standing beside a Charr with my Sylvari I’m always like… kitten I wish my sword was that big. If you, A.net were to implement a scaling system where the weapons all sit at the 100% mark or “average” weapon size then let the player choose to scale the weapon between 150% and 50%. So Having every race choose from the same scale allowing all races to use ridiculously sized weapons! I think this would be a highly effective customization mechanic for GW2 especially since it has not been added into other games that I’m aware of. (The major flaw to this Idea is Asurans being midgets.)
