Ohhh that why
I was training my S/P build against an enemy thief playing D/P, and he have almost always vigor and fury, so I guessing his build was something with 30 in trickery
With the 10 : the trait who give fury might and swiftness, the 20 the trait who steal buff and give vigor and ofc the daze for the 30
But also when I dodged his steal he get vigor and fury…
It could be nice if in the option of the game we can add a little tool, on the right or left of the screen for see the timer of your passive skills
Like a little image and the name of the passive skill with next to it a timer in red like -3sec
and when the CD is ready the skill would be wxritted in green, so you know when your passive will proc etc…
for exemple for last refuge, if we can see the CD we should make less mistake!
Im not agree with a range bound targetable, it should be only for ranger
but yes they need a rework, a thief who play traps have to be like a predator, and put his traps first then waiting his victim, he have to play clever for force his enemy to go in his traps
the idea about make a special debuff on them can be nice, like Dagins said something like the impale of warrior or something like the debuff you get in Lyssa, I don’t remember how it called but when you walk that put on you bleed stack

Im agree with you muscarine, I mean when people see something new and look strong, they dont try to find a strategy or the weak point of the class/build and start to complain and beg for a nerf
Im a D/D thief and for try something new I decided (2 days ago) to switch a S/P thief in WvW
so im usualy in the obsidian JP because its fun, and my build work great! I have almost no experience with S/P but I can kill easier some class I have trouble with my D/D (like zerk guard)
But I have also some problem with mobile class with condi (like ranger with shortbow, he put me lot of condi and always move so its hard to pistol whip him)
I need more training but I did some awsome kill and I was almost sure that some people was crying about S/P lol
I met lot of thieves all was D/D or D/P and I had 0 problems to kill them lol, and from today, 3 of this thief I met and beat with S/P (because we often met the same people in that JP :p) started to play the same weapon set ! normaly its extremly rare to see thieves play this weapons in WvW, I mean I think I encounter maybe 10+ in WvW and I play GW since the begin
So im sure if lot of thieves start to play S/P in WvW lot of people will find something new to complain about thieves because S/P dont use stealth

It could be good to implant a new boon for counter condition damage, like something who work like protection but for condition
a buff who reduces conditions damages, and maybe change some traits or skill who normaly cleanse to that new boon that would put more variety in the game
and I saw a thread about make control condition different to condition who does damage, its a good idea too for more variety and gameplay !
So funny… a thief who spam 2 is a free target
Ill help you, you don’t need any invuln, you don’t need any mist form protection block teleport etc… just imobilize him and he will waste all his initiative
If he push only one button (spam 2) you just have to push 1 button too : a skill for root him!
or if you don’t have an immobilize skill then maybe a slow, he will touch you only 1 time instead of 3 or 4 and if you also dodge he will never touch you
No problem for the tips
when people don’t complain about the perma stealth, people find something else to complain about thieves
Its normal if you are low hp that he hit you that much, if you was not low hp that mean he should be with zerk gear ! so just an immobilisation and 2 or 3 skill would kill him
Yeah maybe add an international CD in my proposition
Otherwise I forget to say about the 3 of the bow (cluster bomb?) make it back to 1200 range .. we don’t have weapons with 1200 range and the projectile is enough slow for let it too 1200
When I see a poor enginer with just hand grenades have a better range than a bow thats just weird
this is facultativ:
a little boost for scorpion whire, add poison for 5sec because its “scorpion” whire !
or maybe 2 stack of torment for 5sec, because when you whire a person to you generaly the person dont want to be in melee, so he will have the choice to stay in melee and eat your attacks or run away and eat the torment :p
Someone explained fine how it should broke the thief class if we get revelead by miss an attack from stealth his pseudo start by a O.. can’t remember
“Block on invisibility does not break stealth. The problem arises that even if you could predict the backstab and block, evade etc. It doesn’t matter as if the thief misses or fails "
Of course it matter!! if you block its writted ’block" near your character, if you evade "it writed “evade” near you character and same for blind
It matter that YOU KNOW THE THIEF IS NEAR YOU, and you can be free for AA, melee skill etc that while hurt him ….
I have some Ideas
One : We can add a trait in acrobatic that give you Protection and regen for X time when you succeful a dodge, that mean in combat when you dode the attack of an enemy and its writed “dodged” on your character you gain the bonus
or maybe gain +700 hp when you do a succeful dodge, that would be an alternativ at shadow rejuveneration
second: change the trait hard to catch by gain +25% speed (im a bit bored of that shadow signet) and maybe something else like give stabi when you get a fear, stuck, stun , daze etc…
or add a stun breaker to shadow infiltrator skill with an internal CD like 15-20sec
Also put something that regen initiative in the Lethal strike traits, its the only traits without anything for regen ini
And finaly reduce the CD of Roll of Initiative to 50sec from 60sec
A trickery skill :
All people who have you on target lost the target and you can’t be targeted for 5sec
But you are not invulnerable
So its not OP if you are a melee thief, because AA, melee attack and AoE can still hit you
But better if you are a distance thief P/X or bow thief, because you kite enemy so you are not in melee, and all skills shot, ranged attack or jump attack who need a target can’t affect you, you should be only vulnerable to ranged AoE
In PvE don’t know how it woud be work, maybe mobs ignore you like you are in stealth ?

I try to stay close to them when they do the combo blackpower and HS for know approximativly where hes and CnD then I stab
If I miss I use one of my utility
Generaly I have always the advantage vs them on the begin of the fight as a D/D but if they are not dead they will run away and regen with them combo … so I just do the same by go out of combat with bow (5) since I cant cnd, then I swap an utility for get scorpion whire and trick them before he do his combo if Im not blind, then CnD stab and Heartseeker!
so yes basilik and whire if you arent blind is good vs them
They should change the critical RATE! its too easy to get 50% critical rate (thats mean approximativly 1/2 critique
but don’t nerf the critical damage!
Since a thief is in paper, you just have to 100 blades, or any other attacks and he will die in second….

Im agree with that nobody will take a gear who the ferocity is the principal stats
They should nerf a bit the effect of power on critical attack and i dont know the formule but maybe up the formule of ferocity for it make a real difference when you crit
Then people will have to choose if they want a strong critical attack or a strong normal attack, and this will depends of the critical rate you have (and maybe nerf a bit the critical rate, because if you can get 50% critical rate too easy all people will take ferocity)
I forget, they should also add a trait in lethal strike who regen initiative, its the only archetype without ini regen
Its a teleport right ? not a jump ?
So why I get stuned when I try to escape from that ligthing AoE of elem (staff or the conjured hammer)
If I teleport myself that mean I can’t be touched by that ligthing wall

The problem with that is lot of class can make build for spam aegis, blind etc…
for exemple a guard, its already really hard to kill, if you get revelead coz of his aegis, then you can’t really dps him for 4sec, because auto attack will not hurt him so much but he will attack you… so then after 4sec you decide to go back stealth and stab again, if he have another aegis on, then you are again revelead and can do nothing for 4sec
after guard can dodge, get invulnerability etc… you will never be apt to kill one
or exemple a D/D thief vs a D/P, the DD thief just CnD so hes stealth and ready for stab, the
P will spam his blind AoE and wait… so if you decide to attack you get revelead, if you decide to wait you are not revelead ok, then the DP thief do his combo hes stealth and will stab you, then the DD use his heal, the D/p use again his blind AoE etc…
Sorry in advance, im sure my text will be hard to read, but I mean if you get too much revelead a thief cant really DPS, his auto attack will never been enough and you will take too much damage
so that mean you fail your big damage (backstab or the 1 for P/D condi thief) and class who can have lot of blind, block, inlvuln is already hard to kill… if he can also stuck you in revelead mode you cant do anything that mean a invuln of 5sec (guard skill, warr, block shield etc…) + a semi invuln because of revelead and we have only auto attack for do some damage
because dagger thieves, heartseeker its useless if the guy is more than 25% HP all other skill do small damage
a Pistol thief (P/d) have also nothing, well maybe the 3 for get some tourment…)
a double pistol dont really need stealth so still the 3 spam
sword user dont really need to go stealth for make some damage

Because I made some test about putting +30 Power and lose -3% critical damage
Or keep 3% critical damage and lose 30 Power
I have 100% critical damage, I did the test on dolyak lv 80 and the critical hit was similar, I don’t know if there a cap or when you reach the 100% crit. damage, the % is less effectiv
But if the ferocity don’t add more than power on a critical hit it would be useless to privilege the ferocity at the power, because power work on normal hit
Travlane, you didnt understand what I mean, yes they will never get back the 10% of damage
But if people had a mix of zerk and for exemple knight with the patch they will lose dps right ?
So they will be slower than before in pve for kill a mobs /boss, so what they will change ? they will change the knight armor they have for get berzerk and try to get some DPS back
So they will be full zerk instead of knight and zerk mix
zerk meta is stupid, can’t wait until it’s gone
What makes you think it’s going anywhere? Zerk, even after nerf, will still be the best damage option. Until they change it so doing the most damage is the most efficient path then nothing will change.
Yes that why I don’t understand
Zerk will still be the best option to DPS, so if some people was almost full zerk and have like 2 or 3 armor pièces for defensif (like soldier for axtra thoughness and vita)
and with the -10% less damage, they will automaticly change it to zerk for get back that -10% or anyways get more DPS…
and if its not zerk the best option with the new update, people will take the other set that the more offensif

I made a video “pvp” for show how it can be fun in the JP
So the first fight are not especially impressive (especially with the guard and warr from the begin I fail too much time :p )
but near the end there some fun moments
So first of all, I have no skill for make a video lol, I jsut put all the video in the movie maker and tried to make something good… and that took me so many time >< I can’t imagine how people use time for make video with effects etc…
Its also an old video I made it long time ago before I stop GW 2 (Now im back from some weeks) and if you guys like Ill can try to make another one again about the fun in the JP (I started to prepare one before I leave GW, but not enough fraps moment)
Now there by moment alot of people in so ill can for sure try to catch some moments

I know its a graphic bug, it happens to me sometimes too ! but I find the animation better than the original that why I would like if anet put this animation, because tis better than the stupid “toupie” animation of the original :p

And I have a suggestion, at 8.56 we can see a graphic bug with the other thief
He using the elite daggerstorm and I like that bug I mean the animeation look better than the stupid “toupie”
I would like if Anet change the animation of a guy turn on himself for the dagger storm elite with this one, I mean the same effect, like the dagger turn around you, but YOU you dont turn , you just run “slowly” it look better in my opinion
Ok here an old video against a good ranger, that was the first time I saw a ranger resist so much so I was surpised
Now when I look the video I can see all that many errors I did, especially how I use my thieves guild lol… but was my reals first time in pvp
(Btw I was using traps on another platform and that female thief whire me 2 times that why the video start in combat)
