I guess you didn’t read my post. Anyway, I think they are doing something about it, I’ve seen gold spam e-mail/chat go away. Many botters which camped in one spot have disappeared.

Most likely they have moved on to more human like bots. Which they had lined up from the beginning.

These companies do it for a living 24/7 and have experience with botting on 100s of MMOs and all their attempts to stop them.

GW2 had many protections in place originally against hacking but I don’t think anyone expected that these companies had the EXACT password and login of people stolen from other sites. just waiting for GW2 launch,

Unless you know something I don’t, I bet you your so called saving will become a massive loss when all your soulbound items get lost when they track you down and permaban you. There is a trail, it is just that they probably have a big stack of illegal buyers they need to track down.

The reason bots have been gone lately is due to all the patches and needing to update their offsets for the current patch. So don’t read too much into that one.

The gold selling spam is still in full effect. Just more of a loss for them because it is alot easier to report.

If I had bought gold then yes, it would a bummer to lose it, but that is what AMEX charge backs are for. They are good for that and that is why I use AMEX solely for online purchases.

Supporting gold sellers doesn’t just damage the game, it supports an industry that lives off of stealing from gamers and ruining communities.

I totally 100% agree with you. Which is why I am dumbfounded that nothing is being done about the botters. I know they made a post blah blah.. but the truth is a month later… the bots are still there.

So if it is hurting ANet so much.. why isn’t anything being done about it.. if nothing is going to be done.. why has Anet not adjusted their prices to undercut the competition?

I feel for you guys I do. I have a great appreciation for this game and the company who designed it, I just can not fathom why I am now forced to make the decision to either buy gold so I can afford my legendary or give up entirely. 300g for a legendary is sickening. I am at 600k Karma and 40gold. I doubt I am going to get to 10x that when I finally hit 1mill karma.

This leaves me at an impass where I have to buy gold. Whether I buy from Arena Net Gems and convert or save 75% and buy from the cheaters. This is a pretty easy debate in my mind. Spend 400 bucks or spend 100 bucks.. Well times are tough laddy, some times decisions need to be made that are not the best, but they do the job.

While I do not advocate buying gold.. it is really hard to over look the 75% discount I would get from it. What we need to see is either make gold worth less in item terms… or crack down on bots… or ANET gold prices come into line with the competition.

Personally I rather support the company and the game I enjoy.. but not at a 400% increase in price. Especially not if they do not want to police their own game. Why pay money for something where they seem to not even care about the things going on in their game.

75% of the people on this earth are “morons”. People who buy from gold sellers are the same people around you. Statistics are the same, but some of the people are smart enough to get the 75% discount.

If you are not one of those who is getting the discount.. then you are one of the 75%.

If they are depending on legitimate income for their work, why are they not doing more to stop people from stealing it?

I don’t buy this excuse my friend. I rather buy from Arena Net to support the game. Hard to look past the 75% cost reduction for going around them though. I also have a hard time supporting someone who doesn’t care to take care of themselves.

So still I pose the question.. What is going to be done about the economy?

Gold Sellers Sell Gold at: 40cents Per 1 gold.
Arena Net Sells Gems at 4000 for 50.00

Gem Conversion is Currently: 10gold for 1200 Gems.

Simple Math

40gold = 16 dollars

4800 Gems from Arena Net is 60+ dollars.
4800 Gems if you buy gold from an illicit site is 16 dollars

Watching Prices on Pre Legendary go up 400% in 3 weeks is absurd from any economist point of view. You could say Supply and Demand.. but the truth is that inflation on a major scale is happening.

This is not a botting question because I already know you are doing nothing but stall tactics to drive off angry customers…..

This is a question asking what is being done to curb inflation to keep prices in line?

btw, There is no such thing as mf hack, tele hacks yes, speed hack doubtful (checked sources but to no avail), they also use the tele hack to go underground and glitch places, but other than that…Bot, Teleport…Thats it. Dont spread crap like this please

Stop babbling about nothing you know about. There is a TON of stuff going on that you have no clue of. There is even a bot that reads gthe AH and does the math on items priced above the 15% difference.. buys them and resells them for profit. This bot can do thousands of transactions a day.

It amazing how little people know.. Especially when Google is right there.

The botting is out of control, I’m seeing it everywhere. Various PVE areas (certain bots with familiar names have been around for WEEKS) and even in WvW areas (skritt, underwater areas).

These bots are ruining the economy and causing gold inflation to explode. I pity legitimate players who will be forking over a fortune to afford inflated items within 6 months. Base exotic weapons like Dawn have increased in price four-fold in two months. Going from 75ish gold to over 300. In 6 months, it’ll be 900.

Bots are raking in gold and everyone else is paying the price.

I already had to buy gold and I wont be buying anymore. It is flat out stupid I have to spend MORE money outof pocket to try to keep up with cheaters. At this point, I am just going to quit and ask for a refund for my digital store purchases (110.00) if this keeps up.

They can keep the collectors edition price as I feel I got the worth out of it.. but the gems I bought I want a refund on if they can not get their shiv together.

If you had to sit and report them in game… you wouldnt actually have enough time to play due to the sheer number of bots. Their method is flawed. It isn’t our job to police their game. It is their job to police their game.

If they cared.. they would have hired a team by now. It doesnt take 1.5+ months to hire a team of 5-10 people. The bots run the same paths (automated ftw). Just go to the spots the players report and start banning. Then you do that spot on all the servers and ban. In under an hour you have 100+ bots banned for that one spot across all servers. Do this and you can be banning 800 bots per day.

But they don’t, which means they do not care.

They dont care. Incoming lock your post to hide how bad their game has gotten.

They don’t care.. Just stop reporting and stop buying from the cash shop. Save the money to buy a game where they actually do care.

At this point if I try to start reporting bots.. all I will be doing is reporting bots. There is literally no kidding you 25 bots running in circles and 10 other bots at penitent camp in cursed shore. There are 7 more circle bots and 5 more event bots at Noose Camp. There is actually so many bots there.. I can’t even complete the event. That is the worst part of it all. I CANT PLAY A GAME I PAID FOR DUE TO THERE BEING TOO MANY BOTS.

Why should I care enough and take time out of my day to report them if you do not care enough to take time out of your day to ban them?

With a bot making 5-10 gold per day, it only takes 10 days to recoup their loss. So if you do not ban an account in less than 10 days you have lost the war. If you can’t find bots in less than 10 days then everything you are doing is ineffectual and the person who is making the decisions on this one should be removed.

This it takes time line of crap is just AKA we are so concerned about our bottom line we will feed you what ever line we can to get you to shut up and keep paying. This game HAS THE WORST infestation of bots I have ever seen. That is saying a lot considering WoW is still around.

Until that topic says we are allocating 500k+ per year for anti bot staffing alone, you have lost the war and might as well take down the “What we are doing about bots” post.

Don’t feed me that condescending line about we wont report what we are doing every minute. We all know what you AREN’T doing every minute. So up your game, spend some money on some actual people to police the bot spots and field player reports or just give up and make us a bot we can use to keep up with the botters.

If something is not going to be done soon I am going to ask for a refund for my purchases from your cash shop and will encourage others to do the same. The game was worth my 60 dollars.. but it will not be worth the extra money I spent on my character if I deem the service itself long term is worthless.

Build / Gear / Stats?

In 11 days 1 bot can make enough to purchase 8 more bots. So in that 11 days they have let the bots fester.. they lost the game 8 times over.

It has literally gotten to the point at those 2 spots that normal players cant even do events. It is pretty freaking sad.

Welp 3 weeks of the same bots, at the same spot, doing the same 20×20 donuts.

You are not doing anything. Stop lying to us and tell us the truth.

Stop blowing smoke up our behinds and do something. It is either that or say everyone can bot… because at this rate inflation is going to set in and any normal player will have to cheat or buy gold to get anything.

I think prot warrior might be generous. It is like playing the ret paladin in Vanilla with out the survivability.

But that being said..

Elementalist is lack luster in any capacity other than support. We need 2 different weapon sets and 2 different armor sets to do anything effectively..

Power / Crit / Prec for dual wield
Power / Condition / Toughness or Vit for Staff

Dual Wield is good for PVE solo ro sPvP
Staff is good for WvW and grouping.

The problem with all of that.. is even with those sets.. we are still semi sub par damage wise. We are decent support but die quicker than you can say “die”. We also have an agro problem. Yes it is true this game has agro tables, but no tank or healer class (WHAAA?).

What they need to do is to up the damage on alot of our spells. and take away some of the cool downs. There are too many cool downs through out the attunements and we have to GUESS which ones are on cool downs on other attunements because we have no way to monitor them (WHAAA?).

My main grief is that we have to work twice as hard to get 75% of the results. The last nerfs they did in beta were terrible. In Alpha we were great.. and they slowly jacked us into a support roll.

With our lack of decent defensives on decent timers and the necessity of kiting on a Staff or “Burst or Die” mentality of D/D, S/D. It just doesn’t make sense why we do not do more damage or have quicker CD’s.

After playing my friends thief, I can tell you that this elementalist (100% world explore, 400k karma, personal story done that was completed with thief buddy 100% amd tons of hours into it) is lack luster at best in comparison. I am almost to my legendary and I honestly just wan to quit due to being so pathetic in comparison to other classes.

My Direct Damage spells hit like a level 40, my aoe’s are so easy to move out of it is ridiculous, my support role is limited, and I take a hit like Tyson vs. Sphynx.

The only thing worth a smidge is our AOE’s, but other classes do more damage in less time with their aoe’s. If our AOE’s are going to be so telegraphed.. they need to do twice the damage. Pretty much they need to take every coefficient we have and double it to make us worth playing.

Those are MB’ers… they are botters. MB’ers will have one lead and the rest in a pile behind it.

Now we are up to 20 bots here. And 5 outside Penitent Waypoint.

If they are making a gold per hour that is 25 gold for just those 2 points. That is 500 gold per day. That is 500 bucks per day. They are making 15grand a month just off those 25 bots.

You will NEVER win this war with out a GM team with the profit they are making.

There are actually more bots than there are players at both these points. How is a GM not here banning people. Some of them have been there for 2+ weeks. So he has made 24gold x 14 days x 1.20 USD = 403 Dollars per bot.

I am sorry I mis spoke. There are currently 19 Bots in that one area. Running in circles and teleporting…..

Yup, Automated process WILL NEVER WORK. You need to hire a team to actively monitor this. I have been around gaming for a LONG LONG LONG time. I used to bot in WoW (Because it was either bot or get left behind). and I can tell you unequivocally that the only time they were ever effective was when they actually had an anti bot team.

When they went automated LOL. GG Tracking by time in game.. when your zones are on different servers. Just move zones and back and you were never detected. Or relog once every hour it would reset the timer.

If you want some hints on how to stop bots.. You all have my email and you can reach out to me.. Hell I am begging you to reach out to me so we can fix this and this can be a game I can continue to enjoy.

I can tell you how to stop em dead in their tracks. I have first hand knowledge how bots work.. why.. because I used to make my own.

I am looking to get my name changed so I am not found in violation and lose my account. My character is named “Filthylopez”. I was hoping to get it changed to something else. I was hoping that you could change my name and set it for a rename so next time I login I could abide by the naming conventions you have provided.

It has gotten way out of hand. WoW got absolutely destroyed by bots because they refused to take a proactive stance. Please do not let GW2 get the same way.
