I have a friend who is trying to buy gems, but every time he gets to the final screen the ‘Confirm’ button is greyed out. Is this a known issue and is there any way to fix this?
He has checked and double checked all of his CC information, it is all correct, the form is completely filled out.
It’s whatever. Pretty stupid that once you choose a homeworld you are stuck with it unless you pay. You’d think they would have a system similar to… Oh.. Every other MMO I can think of, which allows you to play on whatever server you want, but each character you make is bound to whatever server it was created on, unless you decide to transfer that character. Having an entire account bound to a single world is very, very stupid if you ask me. Guess I won’t be playing this game again.
I had quit playing several months ago after I got hacked and lost all my gold. I finally decided I would give this game another shot, reinstalled it today and was talking to some friends that I play League of Legends with and was planning on playing on their server, but come to find out I can’t unless I pay for it? Are you freaking serious?
This has got to be the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. Seriously Anet, you really need to rethink this and make it an option for people to transfer if they don’t have any characters on their account or something. I would delete my level 80 thief in a heartbeat if I was able to transfer to the server that my friends play on, but I for one refuse to pay ~$25 for a service that was free up until yesterday.
It’s kinda kittenty to come back to a game and find out that if you started playing a day earlier you would have been able to transfer without having to pay ~$25. It honestly makes me regret reinstalling this game.
Account was hacked, quit playing until today. That blows.
Is there any way to transfer homeworld without having to pay? (Can I delete all my characters and choose a new home world?)
I’m not sure how it happened, but after it happened I set my account up so I have to give authorization when someone tries to log on. I probably would have continued playing, but I was kinda disappointed that I got hacked and lost all my gold I had saved so I just gave up on it.
Over the past few months I have gotten atleast 15-20 emails about someone trying to logon my account, which I obviously denied access to. I’m not sure if it’s just a random thing, but I have changed my password so hopefully I don’t get hacked again. I’m not sure exactly how they are doing it, but according to the emails I got, the location of the people that have tried to access my account have been all over the world, from Texas to China.
Played for a few months after release, account was hacked and I quit playing for a while. Coming back to the game and looking for somewhere to hang out. I work/travel a lot so I wouldn’t be able to dedicate to any sort of WvW schedule or anything like that – just looking for something casual.
Played for a few months after release, account got hacked, gave up on the game for a while. Thinking about coming back, just trying to get some input about the state of the game.
What has changed recently?
How’s WvW nowadays? Does Henge of Denvari still dominate everyone it goes up against?
Will also be looking for an active guild to join – Open to pretty much anything, I’m more of a casual player, work too much to play super hardcore.
Thanks in advance.
So pretty much you are complaining than people are pvping in a pvp area..
Interesting..
Let me give you a preview of what Anet is going to say about your complaint..
“Working as intended.”
Purchase recipes to make exotic gems from the Jeweler vendor for karma. After you make the exotic gems you will need to combine them and discover whatever you want to make.

Ya, definately not recommending this game to dozens of other friends who are looking for a way to get away from WoW.
This game is starting to give me flashbacks of SWtoR, especially on the customer support end.

Post on Twitter last night just after they got servers working again..
Guild Wars 2 ?@GuildWars2
Due to the nature of the outage, we will be unable to restore any progression or items. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience .” ^MK
I’m not sure if this is a bug or not, but I really don’t believe I am just unlucky.
I have been messing around with this sigil in a pistil for the past 30 minutes or so and I cannot get it to proc. I have tried dual wielding, using it in my main hand, off hand, unequipping everything else and only wearing said pistol and it still won’t proc for me.
When I equip a dagger with the same sigil in it, it procs almost immediately.
Does this sigil just not work in ranged weapons or is it bugged or am I really just than unlucky?
Also; I have a 71% crit chance, so the 10% chance on crit thing shouldn’t be an issue when I’ve been sitting here for almost 30 minutes messing with it.
Still bugged on Jade Quarry. C’mon guys, we got the BLTC working properly, now let’s fix the skill point that 50,000+ people seem to be interested in completing!
I did the same thing Raine, now I have like 23 bags that I’m not going to use. Hopefully I can sell them back if the TP ever starts working so I can try to recover some of the 13g I blew.
No Trading Post, no way to trade with other players (other than the honor system – buying/selling via mail and praying the other person doesn’t screw you). I feel like I am playing a single player game that requires an internet connection..
Hey all—we hear you loud and clear. Thank you all for your feedback.
One challenge with some of the emergent issues is that when certain portions of our game experience issues, the forums will also be affected. As such, when we had login issues yesterday, as you know, we could not post any messaging that was hosted on our infrastructure because the forums were completely unavailable . With that, we relied on social media channels, which do not live on our infrastructure. As you might be aware, other big companies like Twitter will also handle outages this way—posting messaging on channels that are not hosted on their infrastructure.
Having said that, whenever we can for emergent issues (when they do not impact our infrastructure), we should be using the system broadcast on the forums for outages.
With regard to the current outage: at this time all commerce sites (Trading Post, Currency Exchange, Gem Store) are down right now and undergoing maintenance. We will provide an ETA as soon as we are able to.
Thanks again, everyone.
I completely understand and it makes sense to use what tools are readily available. I just hope to see future updates and information posted on these forums when they are accessible.
@Deulon I don’t think you’re being told to settle. You’re being told ANet has decided that twitter is how they will be sending up to the minute information. Its up to you if you decide not to bookmark their feed – it doesn’t even require an account.
You don’t trust facebook or twitter, but you trust this website and game that has been compromised daily, resulting in service interruptions? You’re talking out of both sides of your mouth.
I never once said I don’t trust Facebook/Twitter. I have a Facebook account that I use on a daily basis.
I said that pertinent information about the game should be posted on the official game forums, simple as that. I am willing to bet that a lot of the people that are now following Guild Wars on Twitter/Facebook only did so after they read ON THESE FORUMS that updated information is going to be posted elsewhere.
So, I have to ask.. Why not skip the last step and put the information here? This is where most people go when they are looking for information about this game.
I don’t know about you, but when I am looking to purchase new hunting gear from Cabela’s I go to Cabela’s website, not their Facebook page.

We shouldn’t have to go outside of a games official forums to find official information about a game.
We don’t care if you don’t need an account on Twitter to see the news feeds. That has nothing to do with the rant.
If you want to post updates on Facebook/Twitter, by all means, knock yourself out, but pertinent information about Guild Wars updates/downtimes/etc need to be posted on official forums first and foremost.
We are not trying to bash anyone who uses Facebook or Twitter or anything of the sort. Some people just don’t want to have to rely on an outside source to get information that should be readily available on these forums.
Quit telling people to “settle” and make a Facebook/Twitter account or bookmark those pages, because that is not going to happen. We are not playing Farmville or whatever other games are on Facebook, we are playing Guild Wars.
Let’s see if I can explain this to you and everyone else that is complaining about it..
- The game was just released, I’m going to assume that most people are focused on spending their gold on gear/crafting skills/etc rather than spending them on buying pretty things with gems, such as character slots they aren’t going to use yet, bank tabs that are overpriced (imo), etc.
- Because people are spending their gold on other things, the price of gems will continue to drop until people start buying them on a regular basis. In other words, there will be a point where the vast majority of the population that just started playing are satisfied with their characters gear, crafting skills, etc. At this point people will be looking for something else to spend their gold on and the price for gems will increase along side the demand for them.
- Simply put, the price of gems will continue to fall until the demand for them increases, at which point the price will begin to increase.
