Conspiriciy Theory: Black Lion Trading Co. are theives

As a veteran of GW1, I like many other people placed a lot of minipets, weapons and armor skins into the HoM. I had hoped that when GW2 was released, that I’d be able to just ‘pick up’ some of the times like minis to use straight away. However, this obviously wasn’t the case and I do understand that there were many limitations with using this for GW2.

Yet, I still had a question when I first entered the HoM in GW2. What did happen to all of my minis, statues, gear that I had spent time and effort into obtaining? Someone obviously had raided the HoM and collected everything, but who? With the new update that Black Lion are now giving way Tormented Weapons for claim tickets, the answer is simple.

The original creators of Black Lion had raided the HoM sometime between GW1 & GW2 obtaining a monopoly on all of the gear that we had obtained ourselves. How else would they have had so many minipets to sell? Admittedly they have had to put some effort into making their own items to sell, unless they raided other parts of Tyria as well. How else would they have obtained so many Zodiac weapons? We have lost contact with Cantha, but maybe Black Lion have a similar network there obtaining these rare items for smuggling back to Tyria.

Black Lion are now re-selling many items that they raided from HoM of many ancestors back into the market to their kin, without them even realising. Thus Black Lion are gaining a huge profit and becoming a more rich, powerful and influential company.

All I can say is, look after your valuables. Who knows, they might soon be stealing from you and trying to re-sell you your own gear.
