For those of you who do not know at the beginning of Wintersday 2016 the upgrade Preserved Queen Bee was replaced with Winter’s Presence. After a while of waiting, this issue was supposedly fixed. But players who had the Preserved Queen Bee equipped were left with an “icy head” aura and also a icy falling damage animation that originally belonged to Winter’s Presence in conjunction with the bee aura, trail, and falling damage animation. But, when removing the Preserved Queen Bee from the player character, and even all equipment for that matter, players who had/have the Preserved Queen Bee equipped were left with the leftover aura and falling damage animation from Winter’s Presence.
Players who have Winter’s Presence may not know but your aura is actually incomplete. The “icy head” aura and falling animation effects are actually stuck on player characters who had/have the Preserved Queen Bee equipped.
Personally, I do not like the added effects that are now stuck on my main character. I actually spent real world money on gems and converted them into gold so that I could buy the Preserved Queen Bee from the trading post because I liked the look that it provided.
I waited until after Wintersday to see if the issue would be resolved but it has not been, so I submitted a ticket asking if I were able to get reimbursed the money I spend for gems and converted into gold for the Preserved Queen Bee.
After a lengthy discussion with GM Beast T and having to try some steps to make sure this was not an issue with my computer but their servers I have received this information:
GM Beast T:
I have just found that this is a known issue by us and is currently being worked on. I will soon be transferring you to a queue where once a fix is obtained, will be automatically applied to your account. This will fix your issue but the time of the fix has not yet been confirmed. Once the fix comes out, your Preserved Queen Bee should operate the same way as a normal Preserved Queen Bee works. I have informed my supervisor of your issue, so once the fix is available, it will be manually applied to your account. We will keep you updated on the progress of the fix and any changes we make on your account.
Unfortunately it seems that I will not be reimbursed for the gems I bought in order to acquire the Preserved Queen Bee and some questions still have not been answered.
We do not know when the issue will be fixed so players who had/have the Preserved Queen Bee may be stuck with the unwanted effects for a long time.
We do not know if Winter’s Presence will actually be fixed to include all the animations it originally came with.
I have also heard that since the issue some players are not able to sell the Preserved Queen Bee on the trading post. I have not tested this myself and do not know if this issue will be resolved as well.
I hope that this information will be helpful to other players that are going through the same issues as I am and because the forums and reddit have had no replies from ArenaNet about the issue I thought I would post what I have learned on here for everyone to see.

I am so sick of this “icy head” in the game on my main character I swear it’s gonna make me quit the game! I’m not even wearing the Preserved Queen Bee anymore!! It’s on my main character dude kitten fix it already! Give us some information is this going to be forever? Until the end of Wintersday?? Please people escalate this issue.

I also want to note that when dying (such as falling to your death) you have an icy dying animation with the Preserved Queen Bee on or off. The “icy head” animation is also persistent with the Preserved Queen Bee on or off. I can remove all my armor and the animations are still persistent.

The bees are back but now there is a frosty aura like from Winter’s Presence above my head. Some people may not mind but I think it’s odd. Just bought this thing recently for my yellow theme (it costs a lot) and I hope it gets fixed completely.

Yeah it slow and they’re gonna blame it on our computers it’s just easier that way. I’ve started just vendoring a lot of the stuff to save time.

So we’re gonna get the rewards retroactively..? So I’m supposed to just keep doing the events blindly and hope that I’ll get the proper amount. Seriously? Why is everything always bugged that comes out!? I really want to keep loving this game man. I really want to try and defend it but who can? I’ve seen so many people go and never come back and I can’t keep it up anymore.

I’ve had a similar problem with only my mesmer. He is forced into the first episode no matter if you end it or not. It just keeps reappearing. I’ve send a bug report but of course it’s not fixed. Bump.

The Brewmaster collection has been extremely difficult to get for the longest time now. The NPC who sells Stein of Ancient Dwarven Ale never appears. I hear that it’s possible to get it if you log in at that area straight after a patch, but it seems like I am never able to get online at that time. I’ve sent bug reports, nothing has been done about it of course. I looked for a forum post but couldn’t find it so if there is one it’s probably super old and ignored. Even if you’ve managed to somehow get that item bump this post so maybe something will finally be done about it.

Yeah, this made me pretty angry.

Fix this already. What’s the freaking problem?

I already bought the $100 version of the preorder without realizing how much I am being cheated. It seems more beneficial to rebuy the game and get a second account than preordering with my current account. A lot of people are talking about an extra character slot but I don’t even think that’s enough. I recently bought the core game for my boyfriend thinking that everyone would have to buy the expansion and the core game separately. If I had known he could have gotten the core game free I would have waited. You are punishing your loyal customers. I hope that you do reevaluate what you are doing and also compensate the people who have already preordered an upgrade to their current account.
