Guild Wars 2

Thanks all for your prompt replies. I just got back to the PC so sorry for the slow response.

So, I just checked and I have 55,000 karma. On all your advice, I don’t know much about the game at all so besides dungeons, I have no idea where the karma vendors are, what the shards are for, etc etc.

Just being honest so any basic advice is very helpful. Level 80 Advice for N00bs right here.

Thanks for the tips! I have about 32 gold in the bank. 400 Jeweler. 150 tailor.

I use scepter/dagger and solely Fire ele.

I tried running dungeons over and over and it got boring right before I quit..

I don’t have a full set of anything. Like I said, my gear is just low end stuff from a few drops and very little dungeon running. I don’t even know what Berserker is…

So, any advice at all on where/how to obtain would be greatly appreciated.

All, I’ll make this brief:

I dinged 80 while ago but never did much after that. I ran a few dungeons and then all my friends stopped playing. I dove back in today to try to find a beta portal farming events in Dry Top. I’ve noticed that my survivability and DPS really suck. My gear is pretty low end.

So, what to do for a good gear boost? Trading Post? Dungeon Runs? Please let me know as there are so many currencies and areas to go, I’m a bit lost.

I have noticed that I haven’t discovered a lot of the higher level dungeons on the map so I did do LFG but then realized I couldn’t fast travel to them. Maybe I should start there

What is the deal with magic find? I saw there were some changes but couldn’t find the details.

Hey all — I hit 80 last Christmas break and haven’t touched the game since then. I never finished my personal story and got a little tired of crafting.

Now, the question is, what to do for a level 80? I read all the standard stuff but it seems outdated… or is it? Crafting and discovering the whole map? Any other suggestions or tips I should know?

Whoops, forgot, #6 – I love my Elementalist. Any ideas for an alt? Never been in Warrior/Tank classes so anything but that :-)

Thanks all so far for your help and suggestions. PS, I am on Anvil Rock and would love to join a casual guild that is up for running dungeons and helping.

Since I know nothing about endgame, here are a few followups:

1 – What are Fractals?

2 – If I am level 80 and I go back to run a level 50 dungeon, will the drops/gear be worthless?

3 – I hit 400 Jeweler last night but see there is still another ore out there..?

4 – I am level 150 Tailor but the mats are so expensive to power level and would take months to farm.. worth it?

5 – My gear (besides jewelery) sucks.. I am running mostly green with some blues. What is the quickest/most efficient way to get some decent level 80 stuff?

Just hit level 80 on my Human Elementalist. Yep, I have been taking it slow and am only on in the Straits part of my main Durmond Priory main story line.

So, now that I am level 80, what to do? Run dungeons? Finish the main story line? I don’t really know if there is a proper answer but I’d like some insight on what people are doing at 80.

Very good stuff so far! I never switch attunements.. I have just stuck with pure fire.

My gear is just stuff I have either crafted or found. Nothing special but is there an armory page or easy way to link it?

I will also list my skills and traits if I can get a screenshot.

I have been playing off and on since launch. I have a Human Elementalist that I have specced pure fire. I just got to level 46 and my main Story with the Durmond Priory has taken me to Bloodtide Coast. In short, I am getting pummeled. I will break this out into general questions:

1 – I am using a scepter and dagger. Worked fine before but I can barely kill two enemies at my own level. Any tips for weapons and skills at this level? (Pure fire) — I am doing PVE only.

2 – Can I respec my skills and traits? I can’t decide which ones to use. I unlocked Greneth and the skill SUCKS for 20 points.

3 – None of my skills have combo openers, only combo finishers.. any tips?

Hey, Wal-Mart starts Christmas aisle in October so..

Honestly, I don’t think a Halloween even for 14 days is too much. Like, October 15-31 or whatever.

I have to say, I LOVED the Halloween events in Guild Wars so I was stoked for what Guild Wars 2 would bring.

While excited for the event, why is it starting so late in the month/so short? Only 9 days doesn’t leave casual players much time to enjoy and explore the content.

Thoughts?
