How many here are playing less? And why?

I stopped playing about 2 weeks ago due to sheer boredom. I logged in on Friday, for the first time since then, to participate in the Lost Shores… needless to say, I logged off an hour later after the bugs started popping up. Today I started a toon on WoW, which I haven’t played in at least 3 years. This game gave me that itch back for the MMO, however, this is not the droid “I’m” looking for.

Loving the Endgame, Anyone Else?

endgame is for us pve’ers. i absolutely do not like pvp and would much rather chase a carrot on a stick, if you will. That being said, everyone doesn’t need to have said carrot, that was the real problem behind the ‘carrot on a stick’ philosophy. It can be a rare drop, a farmed recipe, or a token item, but it can be difficult to obtain. Legendaries do not count because I am not spending that much time on a different look. I like better gear for the simple purpose of being able to progress in harder pve content, i could care less about ganking low lvl players or wvw or spvp. Make the gear for pve unusable in pvp and wvw and give the people what they want

I want the better gear, or carrot on a stick. A dungeon that is worth doing multiple times, and not because some cool looking skin can be had with tokens, but because there is a chance that I can get a unique piece of armor or a weapon, which is worth having.
Running past mobs to farm tokens makes dungeons seem pointless, especially for a skin. How about having us collect a piece of a weapon, which need 3 more pieces to be crafted with the Mystic Forge. Having dungeons drop loot worth having.
Had I known this game was based on pvp at lvl 80 I never would have started playing

Mystic Forge

The Mystic Forge is disenchanting and disheartening. Takes the wind out of your sails and the gold out of your bank. But because this game is based solely, at lvl 80, on pvp/wvw, farming, and on skins, the MF does bring some heart-rate increasing fun- that is until the results of your forging come in.
There is, simply put, entirely too much emphasis on removing gold from the economy to create real money transactions via gem buying, for this game to separate itself. There is no real progression to participate in, simply repetitive tasks that become mind-numbing. I’ve logged a ton of hours, and for the first time since purchase haven’t played in a few days. The mystic forge took over half of my gold, at my own fault, and now I don’t feel like re-farming to regain the gold, and I’m not much for PvP/WvW, so where does that leave me? Playing a different game, that’s where.

Penitent Camp Event

It appears that the Penitent Camp Event has been changed so that the mobs are no longer invulnerable until they reach a certain point right near the camp. They can be attacked now as soon as they spawn. What this has done is allow the bot patrols circling the area get first crack at the packs of mobs, much like at the other end of the tunnel during the Shelter’s Gate Event. It is not a good idea and it ruins an opportunity for those of us willing to put in the hours farming for gold/mats. It means that while some program runs a toon in circles, I have to chase mobs all over heck and back, just like at Shelter’s Gate, and Im unable to see the logic behind it. Unless you are trying to aid the bots in their farming…

If you think about it, if the skins become expensive on the TP (I read between 5g-11g), that means ANet gets to pull that much more gold from the economy with higher fees. Which in their terms should equal more purchasing of gems with real money to convert back into gold… so in the end, this is a Hallmark- err ANet- Holiday made to create spending

Game Crash

yes Zuuke it has been happening to others as well. It’s likely not an issue with your PC, but the game itself. My PC is just over 6 mths old, I’ve had zero problems with Skyrim, Mass Effect 3, Sins of a Solar Empire runs great and Warhammer 40k (all on the highest settings). That said this game has been crashing on me since I started playing it. Even on the lowest graphics settings, it will crash occasionally. My cpu nears 100% at times, temps soar, and now I am also experiencing Lag and error 7 issues as well. One thing that did seem to curb the problem a little as far as crashes goes, is turning my in-game resolution (while on auto-detect settings) from the maximum allowable 1920×1080 to the next lowest setting. It still crashes but only every once in a while, which for me is a good thing… I guess. The DEV’s have a lot of work to do, and I don’t envy the position they’re in. From these types of issues to botters to exploiters, they have their hands full
