It’s running PCI 16x you mean? If it’s running PCI 1x that’s bad, the card is being choked super hard
Well I have PCIE1 to PCIE5 and it is in PCIE1 atm, closest to the CPU.
EDIT: It’s in the correct slot already

Get GPU-Z and make sure that your GPU is running PCI 16x instead of PCI 1×. If not reseat it and make sure it’s in the slot closest to your CPU
Just got back and checked. It is already running in PCI 1x already. Thanks for the suggestion though
Also, GW2 is pretty much single threaded. If that is 20 percent of all cores, that’s not such a surprise. You didn’t specify, so I’m sorry if you already knew that.
But even if it’s 20% of all cores, shouldn’t the 6600k give me more fps than my pentium cpu? I know that gw2 is single threaded since it’s based off the old game engine, but 20 fps seems a bit low in areas that aren’t cities.

Thank you for the suggestion!
I’m not in my room atm, I’ll be sure to test that out when I get back!
Hello!
So after getting my new computer with a i5 6600k and rx 480 gpu, I was really excited to play Guild Wars 2 with more than 30 fps. Unfortunately that did not seem to be the case.
In Queensdale, the game was running at 24 fps with high settings (low for some things). My ancient $20 pentium cpu (which wasn’t even overclocked) and my 760 ti gave me more fps with the same settings!
I got msi afterburner and interestingly enough, the game is using 100% gpu and 20% cpu, even after unparking all my cpu cores. 20% CPU usage is really, really strange, so I am confused why this could be happening.
Other games I played recently such as Dark Souls 3 (60 FPS), Black Desert Online (60 FPS) and Rocket League (250 fps) are all running perfectly fine, so the issue is specific to guild wars 2.
I reinstalled my drivers twice, changed the power settings for cpu to use 90% minimum, unparked the cores and parked them twice, tried setting GW2 to higher priority in the task manager, used wise registry cleaner, and still the fps is a huge issue.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this issue?
I will take 69

hola
If the following applies to you:
->Launch Guild Wars 2 -> Launcher begins to update – > Then freezes
Try – Start -> Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN settings -> CHECK Automatically detect settings.
This worked for me.
Done this twice with two computers, one high end with windows eight and one with windows 7, WORKED BOTH TIMES. Try this first.
IT WORKED 0_0. TY SO MUCH! I had to also uncheck the auto configuration script too though for it to work. Hopefully I can also use the trading post now
