Reduce the in-combat delay on healing, so us healers can do our jobs.
[i7 6700 Skylake – 32Gb RAM – 240GB SSD – GTX970 – Corsair Water Cooling]
Despite all the naysayers, we’re a small group of older players who love everything about HoT. Even having only scratched the surface yet, the amount of “hidden” things/places is keeping the explorer in us riveted, and working along with others through the big story events to get that hard-to-acquire XP so we can spend mastery points to gain access to even more new stuff. This is going to keep us busy for months and months to come.
It’s like GW2 vanilla but with the difficulty, awesomeness, and immersiveness turned up to 11.
Note: Might have had to invent word “immersiveness”.

It will have reprecusions outside of wvw as mat prices fall steeply. Don’t understand Anet’s motives on this. Personally, I prefer distributed nodes (the old method).

I enjoy playing the map, but agree that the M map visual is tacky.

Played 4 hours with a 2 or 3 man team, we were taking stuff left right and centre. Only the biggies needed a larger team. Can’t wait for the love of gliding to wear thin, and our WvW crew to return and repopulate our BLs
[i7 6700 Skylake – 32Gb RAM – 240GB SSD – GTX970 – Corsair Water Cooling]
Yep, I like the popups too; saves a lot of checking the map.
I guess an on/off option would benefit those that don’t want them
[i7 6700 Skylake – 32Gb RAM – 240GB SSD – GTX970 – Corsair Water Cooling]
Love the new map, not seen (or mentally mapped) all of it yet, but as a team of 2 or 3 we were able to take camps and keeps, though the large structures (think Hills or Bay), are very tricky – we couldn’t manage those with a small team.
Judging population is tricky at the moment, as most of our WvWers are away playing new PvE content (who wouldn’t want to spend hours gliding?)

Bye bye Verdant Brink, until next time
[i7 6700 Skylake – 32Gb RAM – 240GB SSD – GTX970 – Corsair Water Cooling]
Great BWE, thank you.
The Verdant Brink is a great map, took some getting used to the large changes in altitude, but it’s awesome. Loved the little details like cave entrances, steps on cliff edges, and paths that you miss by running past them. Itzel and their village are one of the highlights, really beautiful and atmospheric. The other wow place was the ancient ruins in the southwest. All those stairs, rooms, bridges, and sheer drops – great for exploration.
Flying and mushrooms are great. Easy to use with great wow factor. Would be nice to have extra secret things to find; personally, I love the hidden stuff.
Some of the events seemed either broken, or required a large number of people and took too long. Mostly got bored and left to do other things.
It would be great if Commander icons had the usual up or down arrow so we could tell if they’re above/below you (likewise for party members).
Didn’t have time to test the specialization for my necro, and a sword not really my sort of thing.
Mastery system is easy to use and understand. Painfully slow to rise, but then who wants to finish the expansion inside a week? I want to spend a year there.
Though I presume we’ve only been given a small sliver of map to play with; the overall Maguuma jungle experience is 9/10 with only the huge events and lack of small events letting things down. Thoroughly enjoyed my BWE, can’t wait for the next taste of jungle life.

So here’s an interesting addition to the thread…
I can login to all my characters without issue; except for those in DryTop and (currently) Kessex. Both these areas are busy because of the current world events. This is at peak time, as earlier today, I could log in to DryTop without issue.
This leads me to believe that this error can also be caused by load/busy zones.
[i7 6700 Skylake – 32Gb RAM – 240GB SSD – GTX970 – Corsair Water Cooling]
All my characters login ok, except my level 80 in Dry Top – get the Dry Top loading screen, and nothing happens. Any ideas what’s up?
[i7 6700 Skylake – 32Gb RAM – 240GB SSD – GTX970 – Corsair Water Cooling]
Yep – I have the same issue. 29/30 coins and following dulfy, I have been to every location 3 times now. Have done 15 screenshots – will do the rest tonight.
Update: Coming back into it after 24 hours. I started to get the rest of the screenshots. Coin 2 (dulfy) was there, where it should be.
TL;DR – If a coin is missing entering a different instance or re-entering seems to be the cure XD

(edited by DippyDragon.3180)
Aha! I thought it was just me. I followed dulfy’s guide to get the last few and now have 29/30. I even have taken identical screenshots to dulfy’s to show there is no coin there. 30 screenshots of “no coins” and 29/30 coins gathered

Great story – there was just so much of it. I ran through a lot of my personal story as it didn’t grip me much. This was totally different, I had to stay up too late – just couldn’t put it down at all. Best part of living story ever.
I thought that Dry Top was a bit small, but then there’s so much packed in there, more than meets the eye. I’m loving it, and I’ve still got most of the Achievements to complete yet.
9/10 – Brilliant.

I haven’t been able to play for near a fortnight now, the skill-lag is so bad – up to 5 minutes before a skill fires – at which point I normally get a “disconnected” error.
It’s nice of the devs to post what they are doing to the game, but from months back we all worked out that the packetloss/delay issue seemed to come from servers just before the NCSoft servers – Edge3 or similar company name. Not a game optimisation issue, but an issue with one companys’ servers en route.
The posts above are right, this lag/delay does come in waves, sometimes it’s worse than others. But noticeably, the minute other characters come into range, that starts the lag/delay, which quickly ramps up to the usual 3-5minutes.
[i7 6700 Skylake – 32Gb RAM – 240GB SSD – GTX970 – Corsair Water Cooling]
Yep, I have trouble with thieves in WvW. Appearing from out of nowhere with backstab, and if I’m not dead by the second hit, they’re stealthed again, and you’ve no idea where to find them. By the time you’ve targeted them, you’re either dead or they’ve gone. Pretty much just handing badges to them and coin to the repairer. I give up on thieves and just let them kill me; it’s quicker and less grief. I’m not fast enough to counter, and mostly dead almost as soon as I see them. For sure, my latency is high (350ms), coupled with reaction time, and there’s plenty of scope for being dead before you blink.
Like a lot of people, I’m no Pro player, I play for simple enjoyment as and when family time allows. I don’t seem to have any real grief against any other classes, but meet a thief, and it’s an instant repair and run back. Pretty much, it’s the only shadow on what is otherwise a really enjoyable bout of WvW.

United Kingdom – BT?
My lag is 5 minutes, and the game is unplayable. My sister also with BT has no issues at all. I had this lag a month or so back, but for the last 3 weeks I had no lag issues at all. Now for the 4th day, I have lag again.
By lag, I mean 100% packet loss happening inside Arenanet’s server range.
[i7 6700 Skylake – 32Gb RAM – 240GB SSD – GTX970 – Corsair Water Cooling]
Lol Sorean, I’d love skill lag of 15 seconds. Mine is over 5 minutes. Can’t comment on PVE or PVP, as I don’t do them; I’m WvW only, and it’s unplayable. As usual, the 100% packet loss is all inside Anet’s range of servers.
[i7 6700 Skylake – 32Gb RAM – 240GB SSD – GTX970 – Corsair Water Cooling]
I’ve had the same problem in wvw for the last 48 hours. Had 3 weeks lag free before that. Pretty certain there’s some faulty kit somewhere, it’s purely a packet-loss issue (and it’s not my ISP; the UK’s largest ISP).
[i7 6700 Skylake – 32Gb RAM – 240GB SSD – GTX970 – Corsair Water Cooling]
After suffering this problem before, I’ve had 3 weeks with no lag what-so-ever, but since the Bazaar patch, the lag is back, just as bad as it was. Constant 5 minutes of skill lag, rubber-banding, and disconnects. The game is unplayable again, and nothing has changed on my system, nor is it my ISP, as I had 3 weeks without a spot of lag

This is getting impossible to play now. The skill lag/disconnects in WvW have got worse for me, and now I’m getting the same problem in normal world zones. In Queensdale I’m disconnected (without knowing it), almost instantly upon entering. What is going on? exasperated

Just went to fractals with my friends… 3hs took them. I had lag the entire run, was completely useless, i mean huge lag, 10-15min of nothing, some times i was still watching how my friends fought the first pull, when they already were at the final boss. This is just ridiculous. Got disconnected around 7 times, and i had basically no lag in LA before going in again to fractals.
I never had this kind of lag in any other game i played. I been playing gw2 since the first open beta, never never never had this lag, yes, the first betas were laggy, but 1-5s lagg, not 15min lag…
AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH so kitten mad at this moment…
Welcome another open beta comrade Don’t know what’s changed, it used to be great. Somewhen (not a real word) they made a change which caused this – I’m not even sure they know

Sigh The 3 minute lag is back again for me. Yet my sister (using the same ISP in the same country) has no lag issues at all. What is going on?
I posted in another thread but there are so many I don’t know which one Anet actually read, if they read any.
Who knows, I think they’re burying their heads in the sand to be honest – they’re certainly not engaging with their customers.
You should try the personal touch and contact tech support directly – their response is always the same “it’s your ISP’s fault”.

Last 2 days, no lag at all – very happy, but any news?
[i7 6700 Skylake – 32Gb RAM – 240GB SSD – GTX970 – Corsair Water Cooling]
There’s now nearly 1500 posts about this issue spread over half a dozen threads. Can we merge them or have an official thread?
This is a problem, the symptoms are the same (to varying degrees) for us all:-
Long/Infinite loading times
Minutes of “interaction” lag (used skills sparkle but nothing happens)
Rubber banding when a few packets do get through
Constant disconnects
We come from a huge number of different countries, using a multitude of different service providers, playing on just about every game-server/wvw-server, and we can all play other games without a hitch.
People contacting Technical Support are being told to ask their service providers, when we know that you can’t blame half the world’s service providers as being at fault.
It’s about time a dev came to talk to us all, and give us some honest answers, even if it’s “We don’t know, but we’re doing this, this, and this…..”.
Anet we’ve been supporting you (many since beta), please will you support us.
Dippy (a huge GW2 fan)

Welcome to the wonderful world of GW2
Obviously thousands of people are playing just fine, but for those of us with the lag issue, the game is unplayable.
[i7 6700 Skylake – 32Gb RAM – 240GB SSD – GTX970 – Corsair Water Cooling]
Yep, unplayable in WvW for the last week or so. The /clientport 80 changes nothing. Still long loading times, interaction lag and disconnects from the moment you enter any WvW map. It’s got worse over time – more and more people are having the problems.

Thanks Ashley
The problem seems to be getting worse, and I’m not sure if the logs help. I can PvE without any problems, but nearly all the time I try to WvW, either the loading screen stays forever, or the packet loss is so severe that skills and interactions can take up to 5 minutes to happen. I’m lucky to get any WvW time at all, and I don’t do PvE much
I’m having this exact problem, WvW is unplayable and getting worse – repeatedly hanging at loading screens, long periods of skill lag and unable to interact with the environment, rubber banding so much I can’t move at all. WvW is all I play, so this is gamebreaking at the moment
Location: Swindon, UK
ISP: BT
Ashley, this is it in a nutshell. Looking at the logs, they only take us to the initial server.
I’m on Tarnished Coast, and playing PvE works great. It’s when I try to WvW that the problem of severe packet loss seems to happen (We’re fighting the legions of DragonBrand and FortAspenwood at the moment).
If the logger could trace our route to the WvW servers, or test/log continuously whilst we try to play – it might lead to some better data for you. I’m willing to trial anything Anet writes to get the data you need to fix the problem

Same story again tonight…
The problem seems to start at level3.net and their servers. There seems to be plenty of evidence in this thread to suggest that perhaps they need to read “Running servers for dummies” At least Anet know who they need to be leaning on to cure this problem.
Comment from Anet please?

On Sunday. I had over 5 minutes of lag in wvw. Monday was great, back to normal. Today, I’m back to minutes of lag. What is going on? My computer and settings haven’t changed so it’s not lag due to culling, or my machine. I notice that other people are having the same problem, but I’ve yet to hear any official word on what the issue is, but it’s ruining my fun.
My connection is 7mb (BT Unlimited Broadband), I’m in the UK, and my server is Tarnished Coast.
