Despite the fact that I have “Show Player Nameplate” unchecked, names still hover above the heads of players in dungeons.
This is extremely annoying since I am trying to watch for monster visual ques for powerful abilities, but I can’t because there are so many name plates in the way.
Same for combat text. The combat text appears RIGHT in the middle of the mob, so I can’t see the actual mob itself.
Please help.
Wow…
I guess i’ll just go back to WoW until this issue is solved. I refuse to play an MMO where I am forced to take damage simply because of clunky UI design.
=\
thanks for the help, I guess.
Hello? Anyone? Could use some help here. Can I edit the ini maybe?
Anyone?
This is game breaking for me.
Nope. Model limit set to highest.
No change.
Yeah I have done that.
I have made sure that the following options have been UNTICKED
However, when you are in dungeons, it doesn’t help, all the names still appear.
Show Enemy Names – Unticked
Show Player Names – Unticked
Show NPC Names – Unticked
So I just switched over to GW2 about a week ago after about 6 years of high end raiding and pvp in WoW.
I love the game, but I have to say there are a lot of design choices that the developers made that I think were incredibly poor, and most of them just seem like common sense mistakes…
But before I rail too kitten the game, I want to know if maybe my issues are easily fixed… so…
Issue One: UI Getting in the way of Combat.
1. Floating combat text gets in the way… The damage numbers appear in the center of the NPC, making it hard to watch for visual ques, letting me know when powerful abilities are going to be cast.
2. Floating names makes combat horrible… in dungeons, I can’t see anything the enemies are doing, because every melee, pet, npc, critter, all have floating names above their heads. It’s incredibly annoying since i’m trying to watch the NPC for visual ques, but I never see them because so much green text is in the way.
Is there any way to fix these issues? If not, I dunno, I may think twice about continuing this game. Dungeoneering seems to play a big role, and it won’t be fun if I just have to endure seemingly random damage, just because I can’t react accordingly due to visuals.
Nice. I wonder if they will ever just make it so that your clones take less damage from AoE.
So I decided to take a break from WoW, even though i’m loving my monk.
Got Guild Wars 2 downloading in the background, and been watching videos of classes. Maybe it’s because I like the idea of chaotic, quick thinking pvp, much like the Monk in WoW, or maybe it was just because the class looked really cool, but I was drawn to it.
My question is, in PVP, how do Mesmer’s fair…
Are the viable in Small PVP (arena) and Big PVP (battleground settings)?
How are they in duels?
What is the general player opinion on them? (OP? Underpowered? Underated? Etc?)
Thanks a lot. Can’t wait to start playing.
