Last night I actually respec’d a bit and put my 10 in alchemy to explosives, making utility goggles more worth it. I also mostly use the goggs and elixer R for the toolbelt skills, and the latter almost exclusively in dungeons. I also decided to nab the SE dungeon armor to balance out my high toughness with some vitality.

Right now I’m running a pistol/shield, condition dmg + toughness based engineer, which I have found to be pretty decent for pve and dungeons. I ran the dual pistols + elixirs build for a while, and it was fun, but not as effective for dungeoning in my experience.

I’d like to stick with this basic idea of a high-survivability, well-rounded engi with decent dps and support capabilities, I would just like to crowdsource some fine tuning.

build:

Superior runes of the undead on all armor pieces, due to the nice cond/tough boost.

As far as skills go I switch between various elixirs depending on scenario. The utilities above I generally use for dungeoning [F2 especially]. I know the flamethrower is pretty underpowered, but I dig it. Although I am certainly open to change.

My real questions are:
Is condition dmg + toughness a viable stat focus [seems to be fine for me]?
Is there something better out there than the runes of the undead for my purposes?
As far as acquiring dungeon armor, should I go straight for the cond/tough/whatever, or should I balance it out with some vitality?
A better set of utilities?
