Okay everyone I fixed it!
The solution is that you need to create a shortcut of gw2.exe and save that to your desktop. Then right click the shortcut and click properties. Under the “shortcut” tab, go to the target box and after the location type -repair. Make sure you put a space before the -repair.
I have just bought Guild Wars 2 and have finished the installation. I then launched the game and a black screen came up for about 12 seconds and then I get this error message saying “A serious error has occurred”. I really want to play the game but I don’t know what to do to fix it! Can someone please help me?
