Hello I just got HoT and I discovered that I need to level in the new areas separately from Tyria so being sort of a new player as I am I was wondering if anyone could tell me what are the best ways to level up in verdant brink and HoT maps so I can get my glider and mushrooms. I have mastery points all I’m lacking is a proper way to level up so I can upgrade…
any suggestions? I am still Mastery Rank/Level 0 because I have no idea how to get good exp in Verdant Brink
EDIT (if you need this info) I am a lvl 80 guardian (dragonhunter…fully unlocked the tree) running full berserker and a pretty good DPS build. I dont have trouble klling monsters at all nor do i die to them
Thank you for your time!

Hello there!
First of all I want to point out that this is not a “guide me” thread to which class I want to pick.
I fully know and understand what every class is capable of and can bring to me and the team.
*But I want to know which one would you, a part of the community, want more in your team. A mesmer or a necromancer? Reaper or Chrono?
-Which one would you enjoy more in your team
-which one do you think would bring more dps to the team*
Try to keep it focused on PvE please but if there is an important point PvP-wise that you need to make for your choice go ahead.
Thank you all for reading
Hello there!
I’m a returning player to Guild Wars 2.
I played when the game launched but quit eventually because I was playing alone.
Now after so many years I am back with a couple friends and my GF and we are loving the game again.
I am sad because I lost the chance to play through Living Story second season and I can’t afford to buy it
So my desired gift is that.
-Living Story Second season
I do not desire skins or amazing weapons, I’d like to work towards them myself,( even though i only have 11g in my inventory right now!) Soon I will be able to gear my main with exotic gear and later start working for better things!
I know it’s too much to ask but there’s always hope Maybe one day I will be able to play it.
Thank you all if you have read the whole post and I wish you the best!

I cant get more than 10g …how can I even aim to get something like legendary gear…
I guess my main focuses (if I have to put goals) are gold and maybe to get to ascended gear? I dont care much for skins I just want to have better stats and progress more in the game.
PS: Ive been in silverwastes and completed both that one and Dry top to 100% map completion but I didnt really seem to get money from the maps at all… what am i doing wrong
Thanks for the reply.
Hello there!
So I guess I’ll begin with a small introduction about myself and GW2
I’m an old player, I played through all of the closed betas and when the game released years ago I played it a lot alone. I did only PvE which is what pleases me. I aimed for world completion and exploration because I loved it. But I played alone and eventually quit the game.
Now 3 years or so after I have returned to the game and I find myself rediscovering this new game I love so much. I have some friends and my gf playing with me now!
So, I have a lvl 80 guardian with 100% world completion. I love Guardian but I hate my character because he’s an asura (dont worry the only thing I hate about asura are the weapon and armor models being so tiny….) and I wish I had a more decently sized character to be able to enjoy armor and weapon models…but I can’t be bothered to create another guardian and complete the whole world again I dont have the time for that…So I stick with my asura after all.
I currently do not have Heart Of Thorns. I am saving money so one day I can buy it and enjoy the game a lot more…hopefully one day I will be able to buy it…
And last but not least the most important aspect that is why I am writing this thread:
I am working with a tight schedule and the time I have left I like to spend with my gf or play the game (or both!) What I’m trying to say is that daily I don’t get more than hour or 2 of free time to play this game.
Now to the question of the thread:
What does this game have to offer for me? How do I make the best out of the time I have? What do I do!
Please help me!
But why am I asking this? Several reasons:
-I find that meta events I want or need for achievements never happen around the time I am online (example> triple threat or Tequatl)
-I find the game needing a lot of grind lately!!! compared to what it used to be and what anet advertised about this game and what got me into playing now the game seems to be all about grinding and spending so much time to achieve so little.
-Everything is bloody expensive and I don’t know or have the time to make gold. Sure there are a thousands guides online on how to make money in the game but 90% of them require me to spent so much time into the game (which I do not have!) and the other 10% of ways to make gold are not within my reach as a player whose max gold ever reached is 10g!
This and much more frustrates me but dont get me wrong I still love the game. I just feel like the game is losing what it made the GW2 that I loved. I could just jump in for a couple hours and have so much fun. Now whenever I log in I have the feeling that I need to rush all the time because I have little time to do basic things (dailies for example) and I have to mind the time…every time I want to do something in the game I have to consider first whether I’ll be able to finish it or it’s another chore I have to postpone for the next day when I have more time.
Is HoT any better? Will it improve my game experience or will it require more grind and time spent in-game to achieve desired fun?
And then we have guilds. I never joined one…either because I didn’t like the concept of them and I am a casual player that likes to go slow on my own pace or because I thought that I would be a burden for them or I couldn’t possibly keep up with them. But now the game seems to want me to have a stapled team to even be able to achieve some things…
Thank you everyone for reading. Looking forward reading your answers.

Hello there!
I’ll try to make this as short as possible for easy reading (and just like always it’s a long post yay me for thinking I could make a short one…)
I’m an old Guild Wars 2 player, I played every single closed beta before release and at launch I played the game and hit lvl 80 with a character and boy did I love the game! But I had to play all of it solo and alone.
Now after all this time and all the news I’ve been reading the GW2 bug has bitten me and I wanna get back into action and play a new character (strongly based for team play aka dungeons, fractals and WvWvW.
While I do not fully know what fractals are and never played them I do have an idea of what they are but small. Anyways when the time to do them comes I’m sure I’ll know what they are.
I haven’t played in a long long time so I’m really looking forward to get back into the game and have some fun, this time with nice people if possible.
I want to remember my server but I can’t very well, i think it was aurora something? Not sure right now. I’ll check and post here when I can get into the game and see it.
So now closing the topic (that is already longer than I wanted it to be =_= sorry…) I’ll list some info about me
Spoken Languages: English and Spanish (Born in Spain, lived in the US for years, living in Spain again)
Age: 23
How long do you use to play? What are your playing times? GMT+1 from 2pm to 4pm and from 7pm to 2-3am… lol
[b]What’s your knowledge in the game: [b]The knowledge from solo leveling a character from 1-80 and completing the world to 98%. I also did the main dungeons with random groups (Pugs) and fought WvWvW with teams before but never with a good structured team.
Can and will you use voice programs such as raidcall or team speak? yes sir
What character are you going to play? I‘m not revealing this yet but it’s a build strongly based in team play, lots of boons and condition removal
What can you offer to a guild? A very active player and lots fun…should I mention the puns? Puns are funny…should I mention that I like puns? ;~; Lol just joking
What type of guild are you looking for? A really hardcore guild that would kick me for skipping 1 day of WvWvW….Just kidding any guild with a decent amount of active players willing to help a lost soul…do some dungeons/fract and WvWvW and most important with laid back people that like to have fun and tell jokes.
Now for the ladies!
Anime/manga lover? Yes of course!
Single? Yes.
Desperate? No
Eye color: green
Dude we are all dudes reading this you can stop now!… there is only a 0.00001% chance this is going to be read by an actual girl… Okay D :
That should be all, let me know if I forgot anything o-o"
EDIT: I’ll include my IGN later if needed but if I remember right you can contact me with the forum ID showing there…I’m still downloading the game.

It’s nice to see this! I love that you are reading us!
Well my opinion here is the following:
Guardians: it’s so nice to see that you’re finally doing something about the Damage side without making it overpowered! I love it…but there is one thing to be fixed for guardiands….
Spirit weapons. They are the coolest thing ever…but they are sooooo broken, they are useless in my opinion. They don’t last long enough not even with a full spirit weapons build. …it feels like you summon them just to put the skill on cooldown and see how they are gone before you realize and then wait a long CD to call them again for a few seconds.
Please do something about spirit weapons…it’s such a really cool idea and good concept but so broken right now…
Hi there.
I’m kinda new to the game and I wanted to start a new elementalist but I have no idea what build I should go for.
With build i mean, what weapon set and what trait lines should I focus on…
Also I want to be kind PvE damage/survivality for now (a leveling build for pve)
So I hope you guys can help me out and share your builds with me.
Thanks everyone ^^
any more answers on this? I’m still curious…
carson you said that and I guess it’s true but I do see the norn whirlwind attacks being wider (not reaching longer but being larger)
Hello there.
I recently started the game as an asura guardian…
well as you can guess I’ve been seeing a lot of norn and charr players around the 1-15 zone for Asuras and I can’t but see their skill larger, not only the glyphs/wells on the ground but every other skill such as the greatsword whirlwind…
So I can’t but wonder if they being bigger are better or it’s the same….because in my opinion when they throw the focus laser and it’s larger it hits more people on its way and same would go for the whirlwind….
Any answers please?
I know they can be made larger with traits but those are the ground ones (which I also see really large compared to mine)
Well I didn’t expect answers this fast! Now I’m having a tough time deciding lol!
Btw I’m 21…I’ll check all the guilds and see which one I’m heading to…
I was a Guild Wars 2 beta player. I played during all of the betas of the game but the last one. (so I haven’t tried Asura and Sylvari)
I wasn’t quite convinced about the game but now I am so I’m decided to buy it today or tomorrow…
But before buying I’ll just like to have some people with me …not helping with money or stuffs but playing through the game to make it more fun….Doing dungeons and everything to have fun because being alone in a MMORPG is a nonsense nowadays…so a guild would be nice…I’m starting from zero and I’m focusing on PvE and the lore for now…I’m not really going to be a lot into PvP.
I know the game pretty well up to the lvl 20 zones so i’ll be leveling decently fast plus I spend too much time online…lol :X
If you’re interested just post here and I’ll answer and add later on when I have the game installed and running.
(btw i’m going to be in the USA servers)
Thanks you all for everything! Have a great day ^w^
