Wiki sort of says, but in a round about way. If you check a particular item you want to make it will say either discovery or recipe. If it’s a recipe you have to buy it from someone. Either an NPC or the trading post.

For example:
Onion Ring
Source Discovery Type Snack Output qty. 1 Discipline Chef

Recipe: Celestial Exalted Masque
Item type Consumable Rarity Exotic Req. level (400)

In this case, you buy the recipe and then “consume” it by double clicking on it.
The wiki is put together by regular players, not by ANet. It’s only as good as the people who make it.

well, im trying to craft my celestial gear for my ele, and the celestial insignia isn’t showing up in the discovery tab…….. seriously anet? over a year and no fix? how about a courteous reply so we know that its being worked on, or maybe just tell us to bad so we can stop playing… ive been working for a month to get my cele insignias and when i try to craft them i get boned… thanks Anet… you sure know who to ruin someone gaming experience.

wow, that is all i can say. i know you dont discover the insignias. you discover the gear with (using a chest piece as example) Gossamer Insignia + gossamer coat lining + gossamer coat panel. my problem is where the INSIGNIA is not showing up in the discover tab. coat panel and lining shows up, but when i need to put the INSIGNIA into the discovery tab with the other components, its not there.

You don’t discover the items, you buy the recipe. For example, I got as drops Celestial Exalted Masque and Celestial Exalted Coat.

For the Masque I need to make a Celestial insignia, a helm padding and a helm strap. However I don’t discover them because I got the recipe for the Masque already as a drop. In your case you if you wanted to make the Masque you will have to buy the recipe from the trading post and then use the regular crafting, not discover crafting.

wiki doesn’t say anything about buying a recipe for the gear. only for the insignia. they changed the crafting model for cele gear?
also, i stand fully corrected. i was under the assumption that you crafted the gear just like the rest of the gear in the game. i apologize to Anet for my rude tone, and anyone else who may have read it, and thank you to astral projections for helping threw this aggravating time.

well, i do enjoy stepping on the havoc squads. but i must admit, the zerg blobs do get annoying. i dont think they’ll nerf the zergs to that extent. i think they’ll make it more suitable for about 25 to 30 people and not the 40+ man zergs. i have faith in Anet. i think they’ll do just fine in the end.

Okay, so i am posting this for a friend that has been unable to get into his account. Recently his isp changed his IP.(comcast does dumb stuff) he tried to have the authentication email sent to his email, but he has never received it. It has been 4 days and still no authentication email. He has had about 20 email sent, but none of them have arrived.

When he contacted Anet, they told him to add a mobile authenticator to his account or change his email. They also referred him to the support section where it tells you how to put the authenticator on his account. So, he downloaded the app on his phone, but the first step to pair it up with your account is to log into the account….. -.-

Now needless to say, we’ve run into a wall. Any help out there, or maybe someone that has been threw this? Anything would be helpful

can i get an answer please? is there a fix in the works? here is a screen shot of 4 people standing around spamming the one button next to the bank just to troll people. im sorry, this sort of thing is so irresponsible of anet. why on earth would you create noise maker with no way to mute the trolls? please address this juvenile matter. anets says they have a zero tolerance for forum trolls, but if you are trolling in game with an item u bought with real money, its okay. thanks anet for having a double standard.

You could move, but if you are by the bank, that requires going to another town. You could turn your sound down, but then you cant hear anything else. If you put them on the block list, it does nothing. So pretty much, there is no easy way to make the noise go away.

There’s actually alot of spells and abilities that are WAY too loud on this game. I refuse to play a mesmer or a necro for just this reason, they are loud coming off of the necro mobs in Orr even. I can understand giving them a unique sound but much like the gun shot sound in WoW on Hunters this is fast becoming one of the legendary joke moments of GW2.

i have adjusted my volumes accordingly, i have no music playing in game, and i have the rest turned down almost to nil. the only thing i do have turned up is the combat sounds. but still, i dont find that the necro is that bad. the only sound that would really stand out is when i drop wells. it seems to be loud. oh, and also the number 2 skill on the axe.

i have noticed, while in heavy combat, i sometimes lose my cursor and it takes me a few seconds to find it. im not sure if others have this problem as it could just be part of my age. i use the direct cast aoe option.(when you dont have a red marker for your aoe) it may also be the cause of the problem because i do not have an aoe cast circle to give me a point of reference. its also VERY hard to find the cursor in the mass particle effects in wvw.

my suggestion is very simple. have an option to change the cursor’s color. for me, i dont care what the color is. just so that it stands out. i want to be able to see my cursor in my peripheral vision so that i can cast aoe while not looking at the spot where it needs to be cast, or, so i dont have to look all over my screen to find my cursor.

please refer to the description of WvW before GW2 was released. “WvW is massive unbalanced pvp.” if you dont enjoy that type of game play. well there is an easy fix to your problems. stop playing or learn to counter the “zerg” you are having problems with. its not difficult to find a group of 20-25 people that are in voip and will follow directions good.

all in all, wvw is just fine. the big zergs you girls are crying about is how wvw is designed. if you dont like it, then get the kitten out of wvw.

as i have already said, and im sorry if you have not ready that part. but the 100g also included the cost of exotic gear. remove 30g for exotic knights armor, weapons, and jewelry. that is 70g to go from 0-80 in crafting. in the picture i do NOT have any gear on. because i had not purchased it yet.

I think I prefer my method. I level a character until they’re about level 30, since the beginning sections are easy, interesting, and decently populated, not to mention the personal story is still pretty good around that time. Usually takes a day or two.

Then I level 4 different crafts to 400. Usually takes about 3-4 hours and costs somewhere in the realm of 12 gold or less if you place buy orders for everything you need while doing the initial 30 levels. This gains 40-ish levels to get to level 70.

Then I just play normally after level 70, where everything is populated again and you get absurd amounts of XP just for hitting POIs and Waypoints on the way to wherever you’re going.

98 gold doesn’t seem worth it to me for a level 80 character, but I’ll gladly spend 12 gold or so to skip the relatively boring mid-levels of the game.

yeah, i knew they way i did it wasn’t going to be efficient at all. lol the way your talking about is very very efficent. i leveled up my mesmer that way. got him to 30 then crafted the rest. at 70 i did personal story till i got 80. that brings you across the map as well.

people seem to be forgetting that i did this ONLY for wvw. no pve, what-so-ever.

ok- so i’ll let you guys in on a little secret. the reason i wanted to make this toon 80 asap is, my guild leader asked if we could start necro alts. because we are short on them in guild and a build idea he has for wvw.
anyway, he wants us to make the necro alts. so i decide to make the biggest, ugliest, and largest norn female i can. i mean, her eyes are slanted down, big duck sauce lips. massive square jaw and cheek bones. and i named her after my wvw commander. im not saying his name. sorry. anyway, it was good for a laugh. and many nights of endless troll to come. that alone i think is worth the gold i spent to get her to 80 before he logged on for wvw last night

yeah, i didnt even bother with trying to figure out what i had beforehand. i just dove right in and bought everything.

it does not bother me at all that people don’t understand why i did it. or that i may have overpaid by a little bit. im sure people overpay on that audi they have sitting in their driveway.

this is my 3rd alt, my main is a ranger. i play that primarily in wvw, but my guild is a little short on necros. so, me being a good guildie, i made a necro and leveled it as fast as possible.

i have all pve titles, no reason for me to go back to pve. unless i want legendary. but i dislike them all, so that isn’t going to happen anytime soon. that being said, there isnt much game play for me that i havent already done.(4 times)

oh, and that 98g included all exotic costs. not just materials.

im sure there are a lot of people that have leveled very fast. but, yesterday morning i sat down with the sole intention to level my necro to 80 in one day. well to my amazement, i finished it in under 8 hours. ofc i crafted my way to 80 :P i know its not cost efficient at all. but the fact that it IS possible to have a toon max lvl in less than half a day is awesome. this makes my 4th lvl 80(with full exotics)

now, ready for the price? 98g- which isnt really that bad if you think about it. when the game first came out, it seemed impossible. but now that its 6months in, 100g really isnt kitten compared to everything else.

well, just thought i would share with you how easy it can be to lvl a toon to 80.

so i was in the hodgin’s path of AC. killed a burrow, then was glitched on the other side of a wall. because of this update, i couldn’t waypoint back and return to the fight. i had to wait for my team to fail because i was unable to assist, then waypoint back. this is the most stupid idea. how can you “res zerg” when there are 2 waypoints in a dungeon, and both are a 5 min run back. sure glad i got the dungeon master title before they screwed up that part of the game.

Anet please rethink this move.

lick wounds does not work on an inclined surface. many times that ive used the skill in sPvP and PvE and i res with no problem.but if i go down on a hill or some type of sloped surface, lick wounds will not res.

as for a 100% revive.. lol sounds like you need to reroll a new toon. i cant even begin to tell you how much of a joke that is.

Please put Lynn back in game. I have no room on my toon because of commendations. I was one of the people that purchases keys threw her, so i have many commendations. Not as much as others, but still, i have no room to do any frac runs. Please Anet dont remove the ability to get BLC keys from Lynn.

seems their faces are going completely black. mine isnt black. its dark brown and it still has the facial features. though, all of them are asura. so i guess they are all related somehow.

i dyed my armor and my face decided to match it. anyone else have this problem? if so, did you fix it, and if you did, how?
