Guild Wars 2

So, since the Heart of Thorns patch or so, I have been having this weird issue.

If I run the game on fullscreen mode, instead of windowed fullscreen, the game will sometimes experience a weird semi-crash. The screen will lock up the same 2 frames, playing back and forth, while the sound keeps playing. Alt-Tabbing out of the game, and then back in fixes it. Also when running in windowed fullscreen this never happens.

I have Windows 10 fully up-to-date, as well as the latest AMD drivers available, and Game DVR recording in the B-Box app is set to off.

I contacted the GW2 support team and this was their reply:

This actually happened to me too the other day. I was taking a selfie lol (screenshot) of my character and whenever I press F6 during a combat move, it freezes and looks like I’m shooting over and over again; but really it’s just like you said, “2 frames, playing back and forth.”
Of course I had it on “Fullscreen” instead of “Windowed Fullscreen”.
So it tends to work better when switched to ‘Windows Fullscreen" and then pressing maximize from there. It’s a little confusing but it works… and when ever it started to do the 2 Frame things I can press ‘ESC’ and it takes me to my desktop screen. I just press the GW2 icon again and then the frame is fixed.
So you’re not the only one! I definitely believe this is a bug. So the best thing right now to do is to post a bug report onto the forums, and the DEVS should look into it. It’s just us two so far, so it’s a new bug for sure.

So it’s happened to the kind support person as well, so I’m posting it here as instructed.
Oh and someone over on Reddit was complaining about it as well a while back before I started getting it and they never resolved it. Would be great to get this looked into or getting a response from one of the devs (though I guess not running it in fullscreen works as a work-around, but you do lose FPS).
