Alright. I’ve played ranger since release as well as played ranger in Guild Wars 1. Using longbow and great-sword is the best counter in my opinion, as it directly counters stealth. If you use ‘Rapid Fire’ before a thief goes into stealth he’ll continue to take damage until the skill finishes along with regular auto attack. Make sure you bring immobilize with you along with fear to help maintain an effective cushion between you and the enemy; this is important because long range damage is higher than medium and close range damage, you want to avoid using longbow when the thief is close to you.

Bring wolf and jungle spider. Once you immobilize a thief use ‘rapid fire’ on him. Also, bring ‘Muddy Terrain’ as it also immobilizes. Keep using ‘Point Blank Shot’ to keep a distance from you, but use it when you have immobilize and fear cool down, vis versa. Once the thief goes into stealth click ‘barrage’ (number #5 skill: longbow) and switch to your great-sword and time ‘counterattack’ as best as you can; this will prevent a thief from backstabbing you. If he uses ‘Shadow Refuge’ use barrage right on top of his SR. Bring ‘Entangle’ and ‘Lightning Reflexes’ as well as ‘Signet of Stone’ and ‘Troll Unguent’.

Generally speaking, make sure you use ‘Hunter Shot’ to engage combat. Use ‘Troll Unguent’ BEFORE combat too and during ‘Hunter Shot’ as it will avoids interrupts and knock-backs etc. as you are inside stealth, you don’t want to get stunned if you are trying to heal. As far as specs, I would strong suggest using Valkyrie armor with ‘Superior runes of Pack’ with berserker trinkets. I literally SMASH thieves without a sweat.

I’m sure I missed a few good point with regards to countering a thief with a ranger, but I had to go. Please, if you have further questions message me in game. I’m a true ranger enthusiasts! And here’s my ranger!

Inactive Member
Members who have not been active for 2 months or more.

Born Legacy
All new members are initially added as Born Legacy. This is the trial rank that allows us to get to know you, and vice-versa.

Sworn Legacy
These members have earned full-membership status for being an active member for at least 7 days; this rank allows guild bank access.

Legacy Defender
These members make their presence within the guild apparent. Participating in various guild activities and being social in guild chat/voice chat will earn you this rank.

Legacy Veteran
This is an honorary rank reserved for members that have displayed loyalty to the guild, uphold guild policies, and show strong knowledge of all aspects of the game. Veterans are excellent team players that have shown their ability to go above and beyond by regularly helping other guild members when they ask for help in guild chat. Veterans must be an active member for at least 30 days.

Legacy at Arms
This is our officer rank. These members are responsible for serving the guild through the administration of daily guild functions such as hosting guild missions, events and being available for members as needed. They display great leadership qualities and strong knowledge of the game.

Hello, I’ve been having random black screens during game play and was wondering if there could be any possible bugs. I’m usually getting black screen during WvW/Dungeons, but I’ve also had some in Lion’s Arch (AFK). I’ve tried numerous solutions and nothing seems to work for me, it’s really getting on my nerves! Help would be greatly appreciated. I’m convinced it’s a bug within my game considering I haven’t had any problems with other games. Although my temperatures according to
CPUID Hardware monitor can fluctuate between 70-83 degrees Celsius, while playing GW2.

Here are some things I’ve tried to prevent black screening…
- Updated NVIDIA drivers.
- Uninstalled NVIDIA drivers + re-installed NVIDIA drivers.
- Uninstalled + re-installed Guild Wars 2.
- Also, low graphic settings are always on, which doesn’t stop black screens.
