You are ridiculous, the thing that condi mesmer would not work right now is it applys no condi pressure at all, the scepter can only apply torment once you block an #1 normal attack, theres no way you can spec a decent condi mesmer compare to engi, necro or ranger, the only thing thats good for a mesmer now is portal. So why will I use mesmer, just to lose? And power shatter mesmer is still ok but the thing is you need a thief in your comp and mesmer is very vulnerable to thief.

Everything that is powerful currently in the meta completely owns mesmer. I used to be able to protect xeph from the horrors that tried to charge him but it was useless, the horrors are now too much, so he switched to s/d thief. He then tried to stop the horrors from killing me on my ele but that was also futile. So now I’m a necro. We joined the horrors.

I reckon Anet will be happy to see the same comp in every high level competitive game since they want to balacance out for causauls and top players, ohh and also I forgot about WvW and PvE which is only warriors 90% of the time.
The balance team really have done a great job, especially J. Sharp.

Just wanted to jump in and say I’m watching this, but I didn’t want to derail this thread.

I think the “high level” and the “casual” are equally important to the health and life of the game.

The truth is that we need to balance for both, and we need to use 1 set of #‘s for THREE game types, which all have “high” and “casual” markets. So, in a sense, the balance team is balancing for 6 different types of players, all while trying to keep the #’s as consistent as possible for all game types.

Keep the other game types in mind and thanks for being cool/calm/collected when discussing such a volatile issue.

yup you guys are all genius to balance all 6 different game types, BUT SEEMS LIKE IT’S ALREADY BEEN A YEAR AND YOU STILL HAVE NOT YET SUCCEEDED, look at all the top teams and you see exact same comp exact same builds

IMO balacing all 6 different game types will work if all the people in the balance team are Einstein.

I know its extremely important to satisfy the PvE and WvW people because of money issues, so just let the PvP to kitten up and stop doing the E-sports false advertisement because you guys can never do it, in other words I mean you guys are too greedy, you cannot do this big project with little investment.

Put more money and talented engineers into PvP first before you start this greedy talks.

You don’t HAVE to do PvE to get these skins. You do get achievement points from PvP. You just will get them faster if you do both… just like PvErs will get them faster if THEY do PvP dailys too.

I fail to see what all the huff n puff is about, it’s just skins.

My friend who is R50 thief and #20 in the leaderboard went to solo yesterday and in every single match he faces a premade with a pug group with r20s ~ His leaderboard rank dropped from #20 to #200. Thx Anet

Having played with/against EviL, all I can say is that they basically got bored of the game.

They had a core team including Last of Master, and Danjang, Bloodlight Eyes, and 2 more I cannot remember playing tournaments pretty seriously in the beginning. Unfortunately like many GW1 veterans, they just got bored of the game.

All the “Asian teams” did. Supernova Jpn, The Last Pride, some of the War Machine players, Lily all just got really bored of the game’s stale gameplay and metagame, as well as glacial-pace of development. There was a huge exodus at about November, and now they’re all just playing LoL, or SC2 or similar.

The only remaining “Asian team,” that I know of are “Strange World,” which are a Japanese guild.

Regarding their ranks, I’d like to say they were probably about rank 40’ish give or take before quitting.

u forgot about “Undercoverism” ..altho we didnt play that much right now since everyone got bored of the game ..

try to use a shatter mesmer to 1 v 1 a burst d/p thief and you will know how not op shatter mesmer is lol

Just because Anet decided they wanted to balance WvW, PvE, and PvP altogether!. But wait today I saw a commander in WvW only knows how to use number 1 spam ..why is that? Was I playing the same game?

So yea no Warrior, no Mesmer, no Ranger in tPvP. I just mean ele can do better than them so why not using an ele? You cant blame me.

I agree the leaderboard is not the best and it does not reflect the 100% reality of the pvp scene. I am from UC and to be honest in our time zone there are really not many or no good teams around, just because we are from asia, we play in the asia time zone and we play the game with 200+ping, it was always not easy and you have to give us some credit, even back when paid tournaments were just live in october, we managed to get ourself into the top 50 when team PZ dominated every game in the first two weeks, every week we spared one to two days in the noon just to play paid tournaments because in asia time zone the paid tournaments just won’t pop!

But at least the leaderboard shows you some kind of facts that most top players are on the board e.g. best thief NA – Caed, best bunker guard NA – Davinci etc.

I disagree best engi NA is Ostrich and also best warrior NA is Anastasis Tactic. Best engi NA should be hiba or five gauge and best warrior NA should be Hman, come on Anastasis Tactic is not even in the top 100 leaderboard and you tell me hes best warrior NA, was that a joke? Hes definitely good but not the best, peace.
