If you want challenging, Mesmer sounds about right for you. Caster class that can be played long-range, mid-range and melee, with power builds, condi builds, phantasms… It’s a pretty fun to play class, if rather squishy until you get your traits. Also useful in jumping puzzles since you can teleport yourself back up if you fall^, but that’s mostly a side effect^^
Yea, Mesmer was fun but it’s way too squishy for my tastes.
So, I have been playing GW2 for a week and still can’t decide the profession. I like playstyles of ranger, monk and warrior in first Guild Wars, but they were quite diffrent there. Ranger had great control/cc/condition options and warrior was the main killer in PvP.
So far I tried all the classes and I’m concerned, Warrior seems to be lacking, he’s more support now and ranger felt like “just press 2 and evade”, lot’s of people also say taht warrior is noob, faceroll class and I like to play something more challenging.
Engineer was fun, but it’s not quite my playstyle, rifle isn’t what I expected and mostly he just throwes grenades.
What class should I choose then? I’m mostly PvP player but want to do the highend PvE too. If I just had the time to max a couple of characters…
