Guild Wars 2

Alright, so although I haven’t been playing the game much lately, all the time I have been, I’ve been playing sPvP or tPvP. I used to play an extremely tanky hammer bunker, and had a lot of fun, but with the new patch, I wanted to try something new, a faster build based around damage.

However, I’m having trouble picking traits. I’m running GS + Sword / Shield, with full Ogre runes, Superior Fire sigils on GS/S, and Superior Bloodlust on Shield. Berserker’s amulet. Right now for utilities I’m using Mending, Bull’s Rush, FGJ, Endure Pain, and Signet of Rage.

I’m running 20/20/0/10/20, and I’m not happy with it. I feel like I need 5 more points. In Strength, I take Berserker’s Power and Slashing Power. In Arms I take Rending Strikes and Forceful Greatsword. I take Leg Specialist in Tactics, and Heightened Focus and Mobile Strikes in Discipline. I feel like I need Slashing Power, Forceful Greatsword, Leg Specialist, and Fast Hands. That leaves me with 5 points, which I threw into Mobile Strikes. However, I really want to pick up Dogged March somehow, I just don’t see how. Either I give up a lot of GS damage, or the ability to immobilize, or I double the weapon swap time.

Any ideas? The rest of my build is open to criticism, too, I’m new to damage dealing in PvP. I took Mending because it’s my only condition removal, however, it heals so much less than Healing Surge I’m not sure about it. I also took Endure Pain because I felt way too squishy and easy to burst down, I originally had Frenzy instead but it was getting me killed more often than it helped (it seemed).

As I’m playing, I’m noticing a lot of little annoyances that seem to hold the game back. Just thought I’d hop on here to post them, you guys tell me what you like or don’t like.

Traits/Utility/Gear Switching

It’s pretty annoying that when I want to switch from doing WvW to running dungeons or something, to be optimal I have to switch out gear pieces, respec my traits, and redo my utility skills. Why not either, a) let us set up multiple builds and switch between them on the fly (maybe only in cities), or b), have WvW have a separate build from PvE that you switch to automatically, kinda like sPvP?

Mini Pets

You guys designed all these awesome little pets, but they don’t get used because they keep getting sent back to the bank, and you have to put them back out every single time you load an area. Why not let you “equip” a pet on your Hero screen, so that he won’t be banked when you deposit collectibles, and have him automatically be summoned? Maybe disable that equip slot for WvW to lessen the amount of clutter in the world.

Free Travel to Home City

Everyone already uses Heart of the Mists to go back to LA for free, why not let us free travel to a city? Maybe make it so that traveling to your race’s home city is always free, so that LA gets less overflows, and the other cities get some use? Or, just let us pick a city to call our home city, to travel to for free?

City Clothing

You should add an option to, if the player chooses, automatically switch to town clothes upon entering a city. Like mini pets, it’s another cool idea that gets wasted, because no one ever uses it.

BLTP Already Known Search

In other MMOs, you can filter out things you’ve already learned, but if, say, in GW2 I wanna browse new dyes, I have to search through all the dyes that I already have. You should let us filter those out, it would make the trading post a lot easier to navigate. Also, filtering by Heavy/Medium/Light armor would be great for finding items.

Shared Gold Between Characters

Why not have 1 big gold pool between all of our alts? When you realize you need gold on an alt, currently you have to log out, log in on your main, send the gold, and then log back into the alt you were playing. Why not make gold account wide like laurels?

Sell Directly From Collectibles Tab

When I want to sell a bunch of the collectible crafting mats, I go through and move all of them to my bag, and then sell them all from there. Why not just add “Sell on BLTP” to the menu while they’re in the bank? The option to buy more is already there, it would just make selling stuff you don’t need faster so you can get back to playing the game.

I’m sure that there’s some stuff that I forgot, but these little things have been bugging me, and I think that going through and doing all of these smaller fixes would improve the QoL for players and make the game a lot more user friendly.

I honestly don’t understand how they need more optimization for low end PCs, my GFX card died, so I’m running on integrated, and I’m still getting 30 fps in cities on low settings.

Unless it’s an issue where you have the power, but the game isn’t using it properly (I know there were some issues with FX CPUs and stuff, that does need to get worked on).

I was working on leveling up my Armorsmithing as well as my monthly, when I realized that it had been frozen at 19/40 for a long time. I tried re-logging, and trying crafting different stuff, including discovery, and none of it worked, it won’t update past 19, or 47%.

Please help me with this, it’s extremely annoying, thank you.

Also, I can’t connect to the game. My character just starts going through multiple zones instantly and then I get DC’d.

Seriously, I don’t kittening get it… my email has never been hacked before, I run daily virus/spyware scans, and am very careful with my different passwords. I’m a bit upset about this, I’ve been loving the game and enjoying every minute of leveling, I’ve already spent $100 (the game + gems) total on the game, not really because I needed anything from the gem shop, but because I wanted to show support for how great it is. If my character will permanently be screwed up, I don’t know what to do, I’m probably just done with the game. What do I do to contact Arena Net about this? What are my chances of getting my items/gold/level/world completion all reset to before he hacked me?…

Also, my e-mail had shown that it had been accessed from China, but my GW2 account had been accessed from California.

I went to log into my account, found out my information had been changed, my email had been hacked as well. I reset all of my information and when I got access to my account back I found that my main character had been power leveled to about 20 levels higher, and when I tried to connect to the game world I got disconnected.

What happens now, what do I do and what are my chances of having my character back to how I had him? I just bought the game less than 2 weeks ago and spent of $50 in gems on him, but if there’s no way to set him back, then I’m going to be really sad about this…
