Sorry I just assumed people knew what role playing meant, for those who do not know role playing is when you make a fictional character and use your imagination to live the life of that character. To do so it usually helps to make up a little back story , something you can use to guide your decisions.
so in the case of this character I am looking for a new challenge to the usual kitten kitten hit it until it dies gameplay that you always see. Afterall if rangers love animals why would you wish to harm as many as you can find?
As for the last bit about helping players and npc’s along the way that’s just me trying to spread less negativity around here. Sorry bout that.
Hello fellow Power Rangers, allow me to introduce Horosho (Wanderer), he’s vowed to explore the lands helping people in need while on his path to enlightenment (level 80) without harming neither man nor beast.
Horosho was raised in nobility, but he has never known who his true parents really are. While growing up in high society he never felt quite right and would often sneak out of Divinity’s Reach to wander the local forests of Queensdale. For some reason it felt right to be in the woods over the castles, it was there he started to find purpose in life when he found a small bear cub whose parents were killed by a zerg of adventurers protecting a honey farm. He secretly raised the bear into maturity and they have been best friends ever since.
Horosho has become old enough now and has decided to leave behind his life of nobility and explore Tyria. In addition to not killing and aiding those in need he will also learn various arts to help others, including cooking (vegetarian of course), cloth making, and fine trinkets that offer protection to those who need it.
Story aside here, he will focus entirely on toughness, healing, and specializing in skills to aid others. Should be quite the challenge, but it would give me plenty of time to wander the world and appreciate all of it’s beauty. It will also be a bit of a break from all of the usual run around killing stuff I do with my main ranger.
If you feel up for a challenge I would encourage fellow rangers to try something like this out too, many of the missions can be done just by aiding and it gives you income via crafting to aid your other characters too.
Happy wandering.
Got a mix between some dungeon specific armor, storyline only armor, misc bits from the market and some Vigil shoulder pads.
I would just like to preface with a big thank you to everyone behind the scenes, no MMO has kept my interest as long as GW2 and it doesn’t appear to be going away either.
As a big fan I would just like to throw in my two cents regarding some things I think could further the game. Unfortunately the forum search function doesn’t work properly, so I do apologize if a subject has been done before, but here it goes:
~ The biggest thing I would personally like to see is the ability to build and customize a house anywhere in the open world, somewhere to go and store your special items and show off your achievements. Now it wouldn’t be reasonable to have random houses splattered everywhere for everyone else to see, so to get around this a player could create an instance location where they would like their house to be. So, much like a personal story quest when you run up to the POI it’ll ask you if you (and your party?) would like to go into your house.
I did play the original FF online and I have to say it was the big feature of that game for me, I enjoyed building furniture, or buying it, and showing off items and trophies with it. It is a great way to put stuff away that we will never use again, but perhaps would like to keep (just to say hey I was there). Furnishings would also be a great way to encourage crafting and using some of the materials that do not get harvested for much or used often.
~ More back options is another idea, there seems to be a lot of bird motif in the game, it would be neat to see wing back pieces as well, not necessarily huge ones that take up a lot of space, but say ones that go down the back. Perhaps even a backpack that shows off a model of each of your harvesting tools that disappear if you use them up would also be functional.
~ Dynamic equipment switching when not in battle is something I’ve read in other forums before and wouldn’t mind seeing either. While I mostly PVE and never PVP except for the odd venturing into WvW , I do think it would be quite advantageous to be able to switch from a condition build to a tanky or crit build as the area calls for it.
~ Minis:
a) Keep them up when fast traveling, it’s a bit of a constant frustration calling them out every map change. Perhaps put a slot on your character info for a mini to be spawned with you all the time, and a check box, like headgear, to put them away when not wanted.
b) Keep them relevant, being able to treat them as an ascended item and putting an infusion would be nice.
~ Dungeon token exchange would greatly be appreciated, I have half a dozen bank slots being used up for misc remaining dungeon tokens, so finding a way to use them would greatly be appreciated. Perhaps even throwing them into MF to change them into something else could be done.
Thank you again guys for all your great work, especially the recent Molten pickaxe, I’m no longer avoiding harvesting because I do not want to waste my ori pick axe on lower tier items. I really hope to see more for the other two tools in the future, the amazing animation is a bonus.
Took awhile but I eventually got all my required armors I liked plus all the upgrades and stats I wanted to have transmuted.
Does the old armor preview only relate to gem items? I’m driving myself crazy not being able to see what many of the armors are before I buy them from a merchant.
Despite some armors have multiple versions with completely different looks they still list them with the same name! It makes it super frustrating when you cant find an image of a rare version of an item vs exotic…. Point in case I recently purchased invaders armor (rare) only to find out it is not at all the same looking as the exotic. Now I’m looking at some divinity council armor and I don’t know if I’ll run into the same situation because I have no preview of the armor in shop and all the icons look the same (and not at all looking like the actual item.)
If anet is reading please please consider puting an item preview window when you hover over it.
That’s a pretty weird choice, why should it still be called invaders armor if it isn’t? Even the wiki says it’s invaders armor.
UPDATE:
I went back to borderlands karma merchant, purchased another “Invaders Rawhide Vest” and the result is the same.
Still getting:
http://www.gw2armor.com/human/female/k2/medium/display_looks.php
instead of
http://www.gw2armor.com/human/female/wvw/medium/display.php
I recently purchased a fine Invaders Rawhide vest from the Karma merchant in WVW borderlands with the intent to merge its appearance with the stats from my zho’s coat.
I did so and when I reequipped the armor I was shocked to find I was wearing a duelists’ coat, not the invaders vest I purchased nor zho’s coat I had, completely new item appearance. It even still has the name “Invaders Rawhide vest” from the original purchase.
Before someone says “you can only buy it for badges of honor,” here is a quote from the GW2 wiki and as I mentioned it has the right name attached:
“Armorsmiths located in your server’s Citadel in Borderlands maps in World versus World. Fine, masterwork, and rare versions can be exchanged for Karma from Karma Trader "
I purchased the fine version of this armor, like I said I just want to harvest the appearance. Any ideas why this happened? Thanks.
