I have been maining a warrior since GW2 came out and I would absolutely love to see fast hands finally become baseline. I have not seen a new build suggested recently that doesn’t have discipline and if I could get my hands on a nice Arms/Strength/Defense build that wouldn’t have me kitten for my weapon swaps I would be sooooooo happy.
TL DR: +1 fast hands baseline
welp, time to go traverse the forums more. Thx for the info, clearly I’m not up to speed yet….. lol
Hello fellow warriors, I’m sure we’re all excited to see what kind of specialization we get and while I was watching the HoT promo video I thought I might have caught onto something. Around 1:37 into the video Rytlock is fighting some kinda new monster thing and he smashes it with what looks like a SPEAR. There were different animations than I have seen from our other weapons (unless it’s a hammer but it was faster that I would’ve expected a hammer to be) Correct me if I’m wrong but are they gonna give warriors an underwater weapon for above water? o.o Cause I’m on board if we get to wield a kitten Guan Yu esque spear Any thoughts? Am I not seeing the video correctly?
Hey guys and gals,
I don’t often post builds here but I’ve been doing a bit of theory crafting and I really liked the idea of using LB burst with sword leap and axe 5. I haven’t been able to test this build out yet but if anyone feels like giving it a shot lemme know how it goes! I’ll give a try over the weekend.
If the adrenaline gain from Berzerker Stance isn’t enough for ya then feel free to swap the Opportunist trait with Berzerker’s Fury. Just a bit less fury uptime but with Blademaster you should have enough crit for most of the time.
Also I don’t know if anyone has already posted a build like this I just made it up and dropped it in here lol.
I tried running this setup last night and my overall dps was still pretty high, not as crazy high as before the crit dmg nerf but it still kept up pretty well. Kept a lot of might stacked up too:
STR – V
ARMS – V – X – (New grandmaster for 10% increased attack speed)
DEF – 0
TACT – V(if only war, VI if someone else is running it already) – VIII – Phalanx Strength
DISC – 0
GS/ Axe+Mace
Any thoughts of this setup? The axe dmg was where you got the most out of the build, then swap on cd to stack might up again, I like to HB+GS4+either whirlwind or auto for a few more stacks.
I believe the trait says when you give yourself might. So it has to come from your own skill. But with all the might stacking for the group and the arms trait that gives increase speed plus dual wielding your dps would get pretty high as well as you would increase overall group dps. Wondering if this might be a good support/dps warrior build.
So with the new grandmaster traits there was one that caught my eye and I’m not sure how viable it’s going to be yet but…. Has anyone thought about making a might sharing build revolving around the greatsword?
The new tactics grandmaster trait gives might to everyone around you when you gain might.
The arms trait gives you a stack of might everytime you crit with a greatsword.
Stack that with empowering allies (in the tactics line anyways) and run knights or zerker gear? Two banners (discpline and strength) seems like a pretty strong boost in dmg. You can also run the arms new grandmaster trait and run something like axe/mace or axe/sword. so you get extra dps from your axe when you’re not stacking everyone with 25 might…. you get might on greatsword crit, banners (don’t know if that will count, I mean it IS your banner…), signet of rage and FGJ… seems like you can stack an entire party to 25 might on your own for at least 6 seconds lol. And every crit just stacks another one. Any thoughts on this?
Josh: Love the Marri- despite the frustration caused by watching a group of baddies fail.
Can I suggest a more focused training program for the individual for a future patch?
You’d need to make it essentially mandatory, either by rewards or locking Legendaries, level 80 or something behind it.
Have something that specifically teaches dodges, something that specifically requires trait swapping, something that specifically teaches positioning.
I’d love some harder content, and if the only way to get it is ensuring the playerbase is competent then it’s really up to you guys to actively push it forwards systematically and not just hope people pick things up while being carried by others.
The moment you do any of this, it stops being a game and becomes a job. It becomes work.
That isn’t fun, period.
I’m sorry, challenge seekers. The time of the WoW raid and excluding content from the masses is over. You can’t force people to get better. You can’t keep turning games into jobs.
Once again what is the point of playing a game if you don’t want to get better at it? Do you enjoy mindlessly smacking NPC mobs until you get a big gold star reward for being a special little boy? If so stick to that content that you enjoy and people that enjoy a challenge can stick to those. Just because you’re not skilled enough to get some reward from challenges doesn’t mean you need to complain about it to everyone. If you want it get better, if you don’t then go back to pve land. All the achievements around this event don’t even require you to complete the marrionette. You can finish the meta without doing that….
Can the average player skill be raised by challenging content like this?
I truly wish devs and players alike would stop trying to force other players to “get better at the game”.
If the average players wants to improve their skills, they will improve their skills. What you’re trying to do is force people to improve their skills. And yes, it is forcing because if they don’t get better, then they don’t get to take part in the content and take part in the rewards.
High failure isn’t fun. Tension isn’t fun. Feeling hopelessness and dread because your server can never muster the numbers to have a shot at success isn’t fun. Feeling like you’re being forced to get better isn’t fun.
There are still so many issues like server population that you guys just aren’t taking into account, and yet you’re still trying to make these gigantic events that require more and more skill each time. Eventually, you’re going to be excluding too many players all in the name of “challenge” and “skill”.
If you play a game that just lets you win without requiring skill or getting better at the game then what is the point of playing a game? Watching numbers go up? I’m glad this event is kicking casual players in the butt and making them want to get better at the game. All the servers could use that.
Don’t you take away my juggernaut…… >.>
