Living Season 2 Achievements Question

in Players Helping Players

You have to complete the chapter before you can do achievements on it, though you don’t have to beat the entire season 2 story line to start them.

I see, I’ll try to complete only the chapters I need since I think some of the challenges will be easier on my warrior or ranger.

Thanks!

Living Season 2 Achievements Question

So I tried to do some achievements for the ascended trinkets for Echoes of the Past, I was doing the mine all the bodies part and got no achievement when I finished this chapter. Is there a specific way to activate achievements or perhaps go into something like Achievement mode in order to complete?

I’ve completed this chapter with this character, do I have to finish the whole story with it? Or can I use 1 character that has finished the story to do the achievements?

Thank you!

Burn D/H?

if you use propper food you can achieve 95% burn without sigil of smoldering freein up a space there. you are misjudging sigil of fire here. you do not take that for the damage itself but for the activation of your burn aoes. see if you fight 5 targets the sigil proc causes 2stacks on all targets (best case scenario) that adds up to 15k damage. the sigil iteslf will only cause about 3000 damage each target, 4500 if each hit crits. so i would never give up that sigil of fire. the more targets you fight the stronger it gets. even fighting two targets the damage will be superior from burn procs than the sigil iteslf.

if you like the intelligence sigil stick with it. but teh smoldering needs to go if you keep runes of balthazar.

you can check out the new stats on armor that also gives condi duration. Could be really good.

OMG I did not know that Sigil of Fire procs burns and in multiple targets?

So if I proc the Sigil it procs the Virtue’s passive? And since I’m traited with the Grandmaster that makes it AOE this would mean it applies the number of stacks to all in the blast?

I’ve been playing with a Rampager DH during my time with the expansion and I’ve been having some sucess with it.

If I don’t wanna go full damage (Viper/Sinister) what pieces could I swap for some defensive stats? Rabid/Dire/Carrion?

Would Giver’s weapon help with the build?

So I’ve been receiving some pieces with these stats through the story, selecting them from reward gear, and wanted to know if there’s anyway to purchase the recipes for these items.

Is there a special vendor in the jungle or in a city where I can buy the Armorsmith recipes for them? I wanna give a try to a Commander Dragonhunter.

Thanks!

Would this be like the Living Story episodes that came out last year, in which you had to login in a certain time frame in order to unlock them or will it be like the main story in which you can do it at your own pace? I ask cause I wanna do Halloween stuff and then take my time enjoying all the new content in the expansion.

Mordrem Invasion Update: 11 September 12:30 PM

I think something similar to Silverwastes would be nice.
Several events building to one final event and boss(es) that give a chest/reward.

The DC issues, I don’t think they can be addressed very well since upon login back in you’ll be placed in a random map, would be nice if you could stay on the same map.

Exp/Karma/Gold is a good incentive for all events, specially for people new to the game or folks leveling up alts. On future events include these bonuses.

One thing I did like, my brother who’s playing the game with this newly created thief could join in on the event since it’s not on 80 level zones. This is great for all players since newbies can experience content along with veterans and learn from them. One person asked in chat one time and learned how to use a catapult, sounds really basic but hey we all start somewhere.

Thanks for the tips and the answers! I’ll keep in mind not to open all of the boxes.

Some Sylvari Lore Questions (and others)

Wanted to ask, since the discussion is about Wyld Hunts and the dream, what is the Dream in itself? Was it something placed by Ventari or Mordremoth? Or is it like, something related to the mists? Why is it something exclusive to the Sylvari?

I was thinking that perhaps it was a mechanism placed by Mordremoth to assign roles to its minions? This way it can keep them in check and with a purpose.

Pre Order items and beta weekend questions

So I pre-ordered the standard version of HoT and I got my title for doing so. Now I remember in this post:

https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/pre-purchase-community-address/

They would be giving a character slot for us players that’ve been playing before this year. As stated in the post it could take a while, just wanted to confirm. Are we getting the slot before or after HoT launches?

When I logged in I noticed a lot of beta slots, what are the restrictions for the beta characters? Do I have to level them up to 80? Or gear em up? Do stuff collected from the weekend event stays in my bank/bags or does it disappear with the characters?

Thanks for your time

How do you get started with endgame gearing?

What I did was just like xallever suggested.

During my journey to 80 I gathered all the materiales I could find while leveling(wood, metal and other crafting mats) and upgraded my gear each 7-5 levels with stuff from the Trading Company. As I was reaching 80 I started selling my mats depending if the prices were good for me.

Right now I have Exoctic gear and I’m running dungeons with the Looking For Group tool and with my guildmates. Also doing Fractals of the mists runs but only in the first levels since I dont have much Agony Resistance in my gear(didn’t know I would need it until my hp bar started melting).

Also take advantage of seasonal events, like Xmas or Halloween. I remember selling collectables and materials for the events and made a tiny fortune during the first days.

Hit 80, what to do

So I had made it to 80 with my engineer a few months ago, and now I came back to find the traits and a lot of mechanics reworked. And never experienced the “end game” aspect of the game.

Basically, what is there to do when you reach max level? I’m still finishing my story so I have that. I’m also reading up on PvP and WvW to get into it. Other than that, dungeons? or any type of instances?

Also working on exploring the world, having fun with that so far

Thanks for your time and suggestions!
