I think this aspect of the chronomancer makes it fun, now you don’t have to just sit there spamming ur phantasms you can actually use your class mechanic, your shatters! Luckily for you, you don’t have to play chronomancer you can still go back to spamming phantasms if you think that is more entertaining for you. But please don’t try to completely overhaul chronomancer just because you don’t like playing it… It is the nature of the chronomancer to have reduced cooldowns and to make you use your shatter skills and other abilities more often.
I think overall the chronomancer is really fun to play at the moment. However, it does still have some issues.
I think well of precognition should be changed so that it gives blurr at the start of the well instead of the end, i think a chronomancer should be able to time this well correctly but at the moment it takes 3 seconds to apply the blurr and when you see a big aoe from bosses you would have to be able to give blurr right away in order to avoid the damage plus you will have to communicate with your allies since the area of the well is fairly small. I don’t think you will be able to help many allies with this well since most aoe deals damage in less than 3 seconds after you see the aoe circle. In the end of the day the mesmer has other options as stun breakers on a far lower cooldown, so giving this well the blur at the start would atleast make it compete with the other options. Since all wells have an ending effect consider making this well give blur to yourself and allies and then when it ends it makes your attacks unblockable.
I don’t think the changes in Illusionary reversion were really effective since you can always combine it with DE to generate clones fast. In pvp chronomancers still have insane burst at the moment. I agree with what some people said above, giving this trait an internal cooldown or making it compete with chronophantasm in the grandmaster tier would be better options.
A slight increase on the radius of wells would be nice especially on the ones that affect allies. At the moment, everyone stacks in a spot to do most dungeons making wells effective in the current content but I believe that won’t be the case in Heart of thorns. With all the dynamic fights, the small radius might make wells not that effective at all in upcoming battles. In conquest mode, however, the radius is already big enough to keep control of a point. So it might be reasonable to make this a PvE only change.
Does the lag only happen while you’re in a PvP map? Does it also occur in the PvP lobby? Other maps?
- So far it has happened in any map i have been to, WvW, PvE maps, Dungeons, Eotm.
How long does the lag spike last? Does it ever clear up?
- Can last 2 to 20 seconds, and clear up or sometimes i just get DC after the spike.
Of your last 5 GW2 play sessions, in how many of them did you experience lag?
Are there specific times of day when do or you don’t experience lag?
- 5/5 but it has been worse lately. I have been experiencing it everytime i play. There isn’t a session recently where i didn’t experience lag spikes or DCs.
When do you remember first experiencing lag of this severity in GW2?
- In wvw at start, but it is still worse now, because i only used to have it in wvw in big zerg fights and that has been improved.
Do you also experience lag playing other games? NCsoft games like Wildstar?
- I don’t experience lag playing other games, i don’t have wildstar. I can also watch streams and videos just fine.
Do you live in NA or EU?
- EU.
Are you playing on NA or EU servers?
- EU, desolation.
Was your account ORIGINALLY created on NA or EU?
- EU.
Tested, confirmed. I put on the trait and stood at the max distance at which i could cast mimic on a mob and i could blink past that. Tested again after the patch yesterday, same result.
I have had the same problem also with the Duelist and all the other mesmer phantasms, it also happens with the new heal (signet of the ether) if you cast it and then cast the phantasm again right away, the phantasm does not attack at all.
Hello everyone,
We are a laid back and friendly pvx guild. Our core members have been in desolation since the start of the game.
We have always had fun playing in desolation and we still have fun playing in this server so we wish to keep having a nice time in desolation.
While some of us are quite experienced when it comes to guild wars 2, we also accept players that are new to the game even if they are not lvl 80 yet, we will be glad to help you on your quest to become a powerful “insert profession here”!
What can we offer?
Besides guild missions, pve/pvp and wvw events we also do other activities just for fun like guild wars 2 quizz and screenshot contests. Ofcourse as in any other contest the winners get prizes, sometimes weapon skins or items from the gemstore! In the end of the day, having a little bit of competition going on just adds to the fun. So if your are looking for a guild that has fun events like these, we may be the right one for you.
In wvw we usually like to run a small roaming/sniping group, that takes objectives fast before the enemy gets there or that just opens some doors for the main zerg!
We also play other games, like minecraft and league of legends and we currently have a minecraft server, so if you are a gamer that doesn’t enjoy only mmos but is looking for a multigaming community, contact us to find out which other games we are currently playing or join our teamspeak server to look for someone to play with!
As I mentioned we currently have a teamspeak server and a website (http://artofskills.guildlaunch.com/). On our website we like to share our builds, opinions and links that are useful for players that are new to the game.
How do you join?
We have 3 simple requirements:
- You must be able to speak english;
- You must represent us 100% of the time;
- You must be able to use teamspeak!
If you fulfill all these requirements you are welcome to join.
To do so, contact Dream Rider or Aiko Twinkie in game for a guild invite or apply through our website.
You can also contact us if you have any other questions about the guild.
Hope to meet you ingame!

I just started using this build, it worked really well for me so far! If you gave it a try and found a way to improve it or to make it fit your playstyle, please leave feedback. If you have questions leave them in the comments and I will try to answer.
Tips and explanation:
- For more mobility you can run portal with this build, portal allows you to finish enemies safely in wvw without getting interrupted. Since I can shatter myself for invulnerability or interrupt with a daze while stomping I don’t feel the need to run portal aswell.
- I pick desperate decoy (dueling V) because it synergizes with prismatic understanting. However, if you feel that you need more movement speed because you didn’t pick up runes of the traveler like I did ( i know they are kinda expensive atm), you can pick compounding celerity (inspiration VI) instead for more mobility.
- I use staff for more survivability, and it also provides better support when running with a group, but the sword/pistol, can be replaced with sword/sword or sword/focus without having a major impact in the build, since all these offhands have 1 skill that can interrupt. I wouldn’t recommend running a torch with this build because it has no interrupt and the phantasm doesn’t have good damage.
- I use power/toughness/vit. equipment with 2 berzerker items (head and chest), but if it is easier for you, it is also possible to reach similar stats to mine by using a mix of valkyrie and knight’s gear.
- If traveler runes are too expensive for your budget, hoelbrak runes are a good alternative, giving you power and more might duration, and also -condition duration applied to you!
Pros:
- good survivability
- lots of stealth
- high burst
- decent toughness and condition removal
- lots of boons
- boon removal
Cons:
- low condition damage and duration
- low vitality
- vulnerable to conditions
Hi everyone!
I wanted to make a new build including prismatic understanding (chaos XII), but all the builds I found were low dps kind of tanky builds or condition builds. Since I wanted to have this trait while keeping my high burst, I decided to make a build with not only prismatic understanding but that also includes illusionary persona (Illusions XI). The trait Illusionary persona adds to my survivability, while it is also the main source of my burst damage.
So I came up with this,

While it may work in solo queue, I don’t think it works in tpvp.
I found having a variety of professions helps achieving the better setup for the current meta, and I am pretty sure you need a necro for conditions and some burst dps in there aswell.
I do think spirit rangers are too good at the moment. But first arenanet should take a look at the professions that lack viable builds for pvp. Many professions still don’t have viable condition builds, some have to play glass cannon because nothing else is viable for them. Also, not all professions can have a viable support build or just a bunker build that is good to hold points. While there are many roles to fill in the current meta, unfortunatelly not every profession is able to fill those roles by simply changing their builds.
In my team we usually lack a 5th member, so we had to learn to play multiple professions to have a setup that fits the current meta. So depending on the 5th member we get, we have to mix and match our professions in order to get a good setup.
