@typingofthedead its called getting owned.You’ll have to accept that some people are just better than you because I play berserker elementalist too and I don’t have those problems that you’re talking about.

hahah kitten that thats a lazy response bro. so what, do u have 0 latency and super human reaction time? im not exxagerating when i say twice in 1 match the SECOND i heard the thief weapon sound (before i could even see him), i went for mist form (which is bound to my mid mouse button and muscle memoried), and twice i was dead before i could use that SINGLE SKILL. with full health.

so i dont doubt he was a good thief. and sure, the first time i didnt know he was around. i could for instance preemptively put on protection (tho its not huge duration), or preemptively dodge, but its all just a guess. if i switch to soldiers i have 0 probs with the same thief (able to react, take the burst, aoe when hes out of initiative, etc). but if you’re so good, please, tell me, as a berzerker ele, how u manage to live that out of stealth burst that can drop me before i can move my finger slightly right and press a button

Your first mistake was wearing berserker’s as an ele.

Get Valkyrie Jewelry, Mix it with Soldiers Armor with Valkyrie Orbs in them.

Get 100% chance to critical when switching attunements (weapons.) sigils, and the other one dealing poison or stealing life when switching.

Precision is useless on an Ele, you can switch attunements so much for 100% Criticals its not funny, Stack Toughness/Vitality/Healing/Power, Bunker it up brotha.

hahah i mean, i know i can bunker/balanced build it up, sure, and it works fine. but as long as im not facing a glass thief, berzerker is fine too. i can survive just fine while layin down a ton of hurt thru active defense and running away. my problem is that the thief hard counters pretty much every other offensive build from any class with little downside. which means the meta is to run a thief in your group for offense, and make every other class go defensive

edit: i am speaking pretty much exclusively for spvp or tpvp, where the gear choices are limited, and its much harder to stack just a lil toughness without going to far in at the cost of other things

So you are saying you can kill anything but thieves and you complain about that? What if I tell you a glass thief can’t kill any defensive spec? Bunkers counter thieves as well as thieves counter glassy builds. Also my mesmer and my warrior are both full berserker and it works pretty well, so i’m not sure about your statment.

@Magicthighs : I agree, its perfectly natural. I’m poker dealer and I can’t count players who complains about bad luck and totally forget what they won (usually by luck) few hands before.

Give other Classes a Stealth dedection, maybe on pets and turrets or somthing like that or lower Steath to max 6 sec and every action heartseaker/rezz or finishing people should break the stealth.

Fix the rendering issues on Stealhtclasses not only Thief.

Reduce the massive Burst on thief but not touch the overall damage done over time.

Buff Condition Build a bit and this not only on Thiefs

Sometimes I wonder if people read what they wrote… Don’t do a feedback if your only concern is to delete the class from the game. You want to nerf the stomp capabilities on one of the worst stomper in the game? You want to remove the only supportive ability of the thief (SR rez) Really ? Please Anet, dont touch to stealth before fixing the (overrated) culling effect. Ideas like this would just make the class totally useless.

I play both Thief and Engi and you talk about the worst stomper, i cannot take it serious compared to engi which can not get 100% stability to stomb. The thief is the best stomper cause you cannot interupt their stomp in downstate, cause you cannot aim at him the only thing which works ae knockback and blind but not every class have it. And with Quickness+Stealth it gets even more powerfull.

A thief as way more utily for group, not only Stealthrezz.

This game is not about 1v1, in tourneys thieves can’t really stomp because of his squishiness and his lack of stab. A sltealthed thief can still be knocked back by a guardian or be annihilate by AoEs pretty easily. Also, i’m curious about D/D thief’s group utility beside shadow refuge … Nearly no boons for the team and absolutely no CC.

I dont know any other profession who can ignore toughness + vitality on items like thieves can.

Mesmer and Warrior can both run berserker.

And yet Thief burst is not as damaging as a shatter mesmer build.

If you hit with everything with the usual shatter+blurred frenzy combo it deals about 7k damage, just saying.

Shatter can crit to 3k in RvR. In SPvP I crit about 2k5 … even if i crit at 2k it still can deal around 8k without blurred frenzy … If all crits obviously, but with 61% crit on mind wrack its not a problem. When I manage to hit my full combo on a thief, most of the time its a one shot (though if can be pretty hard to do on an awake thief with shadowstep up).

1. Steal has to interrupt any skill that is in use when it is activated and it needs at least a 1/2 second aftercast. This will give people who are attacked about 1 second to register that they’re in danger and do something about it before CnD -> backstab ruins their day.

This could be the worst thing to do to the thief. Think about other specs and not only backstab. I’m a S/D user and Anet nerfed the build I used to use into the ground. At this time, my only reliable burst is CnD/Mug and its far from OS anyone. S/D is already pretty hard to play since the daze nerf and will be destroyed by a change like this.

D/D and S/D are still viable though S/D was nerfed hard …

The 10 points in deadly arts can be moved on your own preference. Also you can replace the sigil of force for sigil of rage or bloodlust, i didn’t do the maths.

Anyone can tell me what is glass cannon build ? I tried searching around but can’t find it. Sorry, i’m new in gw2 and Thief is my first character!

A glass cannon build is a build with all in offense like the common 25/30/0/0/15 backstab build with full berserker gear. Your only defensive options are your skills and dodges.
