Ok, guys. Some of you are unhappy about this change, I can see that. BUT… quite honestly, most of you are sort of (I hate to use the word) ranting (sorry!) instead of offering suggestions.

I assure you, the team leader told me not 15 minutes ago, they will listen to suggestions.

  • Does that mean you get everything you want? Probably not.
  • Does that mean you should suggest something? Yes, of course! Because they’re expecting player input.

So you want lower increments? Think it through and present a suggestion! You want XYZ in the interface? Post that idea. You would rather see something else? Post what you think about that other thing. Please don’t get into the whole “I’m going to kick the devs and their little dogs, too” because it’s not doing you or us any good at all.

I’m not here to apologize. I’m here to communicate and right now, the communication is coming in without a whole lot of substance. Over to you for suggestions and constructive input!

I believe that you could stop the protest, out cries, and rants all by simply allowing a more flexible scale of exchange.

If dev is listening, please hear this: many people are seeing this as a gimmick to get us to buy gems in increments of 400. It’s all over reddit, and this forum. If you are truly listening and looking for constructive input, reduce the increments to something more manageable, like 100 gems. Increments of 50 would be nice, but 100 seems like the magic number.

There are several items in the gem store well under 400 gems. Increments of 100 would allow us to purchase just the amount we need, not more than we need.

Gold is hard to come by. Don’t make us spend gold that we don’t want to. It makes us resent you all, which I don’t like to do. Been playing since 2005. We love and trust you guys. Don’t take that trust away.

I don’t think anyone appreciates these changes, and as a veteran who has been playing GW since 2005 I believe ANET is losing touch. We like GW and GW2 because there was no subscription cost. We even like the gem store for what it’s worth.

However, forcing users to purchase a set amount (that is well over the lowest cost gem store item) with their hard earned gold is less than fair, and is borderline abusive. Even less so that you blame it on “ease of use” and “new players”.

TL;DR – You’re out of touch ANET. We loved you because you weren’t trying to milk us for cash, which you are actively doing with this change.

Although the fact that they only get 1 set and I have it on tap whenever I like for all my chars is kinda nice. NM I’m over it…

This is a bit offensive. This armor (if my research serves me well) is the same as Heritage Armor, which I get at my hall of monuments.

So I played the kitten out of GW1 and my reward is then given to every noob who buys the game new. Dissapointing.

Sometimes I run a new area (waypoint to way point, some POI’s) if I’m not ready to be there to make up the diff.

On another note, I took my lvl 70 human to help a friend through the Sylvari starting forest and gained a complete level in about 45 min. doing renown quest and a healthy amount of dynamic events. This game gives out exp. like candy, shouldn’t be too hard.

With my human ele, I picked Balthazar. She’s mentions Blathazar when I attune to fire… is everyone’s ele like that? Also, I thought the hounds were only offered to me because I choose Balthazar, guess I was wrong.

And what the f does the priest do?

Elementalist Improvements: Add weapon slots, keep swapping in combat disabled

Every ele player I know carries at least 2 sets of weapons around. Personally I always have a set of daggers, a focus, and a scepter on hand. I think it would be great to add 1 additional weapons set slot to the ele’s inventory. I agree that combat swapping weapons for an ele would be a bit overwhelming (40+ skills to fumble over), but at the same time swapping outside of combat is relatively common. This would free up inventory space and make the player experience more fluid.

If arena.net is listening, please add a weapon set slot to the ele’s inventory, but keep combat swapping disabled. This would greatly enhance the Elementalist experience imho.
