Invite to the NA guild please
I would like to thank Anet for allowing us veteran players the ability to play the game in it’s pre polished unfinished state back in August a few years ago, it was much more of an enjoyable experience than the game has become 2 years post release. An additional thanks from my friends who I have been hounding to give GW2 a try, that ship was sunk yesterday.
Are Keeper’s Tassets different stats from Keeper’s Ascended Heavy Leggings?
They both seem to be Power, precision, healing. which is Zealot’s
Isn’t the only difference the skin? I’m just trying to understand this as I’m not an expert with ascended armors.
They are the same item, without the limited recipe you cannot obtain Power Precision Healing ascended pants, basically limiting the availability of stat combinations to those who happen to have been playing 1 month of the game’s existence, which is why this is such a ridiculous design decision. Just to confirm I bought an ascended recipe with laurels and Keeper’s is not available as a stat combination.
I’d rather just finally give up on some hope of their being any competency in Anet’s development team and save myself the grind to play a game, 90g+ on top of another 100g+ per piece in ascended crafting materials just to play with a stat combination available in the game is ridiculous and they will only lose more and more people with every poor design choice.
It’s just another terrible decision on top of many others.
Rage? It’s a ridiculous design decision, I don’t care that there is exotic versions available, I have all the materials sitting in my inventory to make the ascended versions and now am stuck with keeper’s insignias with no recipe to combine them due limited availability for a stat combination, which is ridiculous cause it impacts gameplay and is not vanity, so now I am to sit and wait until arenanet decides to bring them back again in some random future event?
They are an entirely different recipe to the ones obtained by laurels and were an RNG drop from a previous LS event.

Arenanet, why do you limit the gameplay of players by making stat combination recipes limited to living story events? This seems ridiculous and very disheartening to players who happen to not have been active during a specific time of the game existence and now cannot experiment and play the game with the stat combinations available in the game. Is this really the design in mind by the developers, I am baffled by this decision.
I don’t even have the option to spend outrageous amounts of gold on the recipes because there isn’t a single one available on the TP (Keeper’s Tassets), beyond unhappy with the way this game has been handled from a design perspective. I would love to have a recording of the meetings where these decisions are discussed and approved, it really seems idiotic from a developers point of view to make stat combinations limited and account bound.

This last season is really putting whether or not I continue in this game on the table. The incompetency to develop WvW by Anet is astoundingly bad.
Only Arenanet could make a spectacle less popular than the ordinary, a tournament for WvW that makes people want to play it less.
Simple feedback, the changes to runesets and sigils are very underwhelming. Outside of some different stat allocations, there hasn’t been any change that will impact the game outside of nerfed crit damage. It was the only major gameplay changer and I feel like you kitten it overall. The magic find adjustment was a bigger change than a majority of the runesets/sigils.
Lag because of massive amounts of people playing after a new patch, No way!?1/!?!?!11111111
It’s almost like every other MMO in the history of gaming hasn’t had lag issues on a new patch.
You only get one kill per day, try doing it when it’s not primetime.
Instance servers maxed in one central location on the first day of new patch will cause lag, get with the program people.

I appreciate you needing to post your disagreement with no reason why, it adds a lot to the discussion.
WvW should have the same progression system as sPvP.
Reasons why;
- Inherent cosmetic progression in a game mode that has lots of interest
- Removes the liability of sub 80s in competitive WvW combat
- Allows for players to have a spec for every game mode currently in the game (PVE/WvW/sPVP)
- Provides all the tools necessary (Gear/Weapons etc) so there is no need to do anything outside of WvW to help the war effort of your server.
- Allows for PVE to be free of the restraints of WvW stat availability, make ascended gear at will since it will not cause an uproar on availability.
- The ranking system would work well in WvW as it provides incentive without stat progression and allows everyone the full experience of WvW upon entering.
Arenanet failed when they made PVE and WvW together and segregated just sPVP, all three should have their own progression and not interfere with each other.
Legendaries should be unlocked through multiple game modes with their own way of progression through each separate game mode.
I believe this change will remove the lacklustre feeling of playing sPvP and not progressing and vice versa because WvW and PVE will not go hand in hand and ultimately everyone can do what they choose and progress specifically in that part of the game without feeling hindered by the other 2.
PVE can roam free as there will be no complaints over stat upgrades or changes that would effect the other game modes.
This is just a quick post but it’s something that should be considered. The upcoming progression changes in WvW will not help the situation as the problem is a core one and easily fixed by adding the sPvP progression system to WvW and removing PVE’s influence.
Give us WvW Rank progression, Skin lockers, gear vendors and remove upscaling in WvW.
You do not need to reinvent the wheel, it’s all already here.
Oh and fix culling, and after you segregate WvW, fix the objective system but for now, think about what people truly want in WvW, an even playing field and looking cool while kicking kitten.

I would make points in WvW worth more the longer you hold them (with a cap), creating clear points of defence and greatly changing the tactical setting in WvW.
The only thing Feb/March patches are going to do is allow those that enjoy the game to enjoy it more and the others to finally quit and save us all the kittening.
The event chain can be done solo up to the priest and a group of 5 can take him down without issue, but if more join he scales much higher.
Go out there and find a group for it, I run a guild group that does it every sunday on Blackgate.
I feel for Arenanet, the whining will never cease. This generation is hopeless.

1023 hours in , Legendary crafted, deeply involved in WvW and love dungeoning with guildies.
This game is far from dead, it will only get better.
People just enjoy nitpicking and complaining rather than enjoying their free time actually playing the game, it’s human nature to never be satisfied with anything, even the best MMO out to date.
Example , poster above is delusional if he thinks the combat is a huge mash of keys when all he has been exposed to is combat that includes Tab – 1,2,3 , Tab – 1,2,3. The combat in GW2 requires positioning and timing and using terrain effectively and not having the crutch of a healer keeping you up through your mistakes.
Just a lot of delusional people with nothing else better to do than nitpick and complain, GW2 is already a level above the rest of the competition, in a year it will be untouchable.
I have friends who protested GW2 and refused to try it until SWTOR completely tanked and they are confessing to me how much they love GW2 now.
Enjoy the game and forget the glass half empty people you encounter in life, just cause they choose to be miserable in their entertainment choices, doesn’t mean it should affect your enjoyment of the game.

There’s tons of options and if you care about WvW you’ll be in it quite a bit. People who have “left the game” are idiots imo cause all they want is to separate themselves by gear in a virtual world rather than play a game that is completely in every aspect superior to any other game at the moment but does not allow players to feel they are better than others due to content completed and gear acquired.
I would suggest joining a larger guild and interact with more players, they benefit you more and it’s better to have a larger pool of players to do all the different aspects of the game. WvW/Dungeons etc become much better with more people to do it with.
Keep it coming Arena net, loving every minute of GW2, leaps and bounds better than any other game.
Hammer Warrior, I cannot tell you how many times I’ve single handedly broke enemy lines with my knockbacks and “Death from Above” trait to defend against gate sieges.
As a commander I love taking point of the army and making the opposing forces scatter when we engage them, the X factor imo.

80 Warrior, Loving every minute of it.
Each weapon type has a different play style and perks that keep the warrior interesting in multiple environments. Truly a battlemaster in WvW with the battle standard and using the hammer in large groups . Twin axes and greatsword are fun as well and I have been toying with a few utility builds on the side with many different angles to do it, ranging from banner builds to different weapon/shield combinations. I have not enjoyed a warrior more in any other game like I have in this one.
The highlight of every night is jumping into a group of players with “Death from Above” and decimating people with my hammer as my guildies assist my interrupts and knockdowns.
I love the comparison to WoW warriors, I suppose Charge, Hamstring, spam Mortal strike is way more complex than knockdowns, timed jumps and directional combat and support utility.
Warrior is amazing, I cannot get enough of mine.
People compare WoW warriors to GW2 warriors because they required a lot of complexity. You can’t just list the basic rotation of MS, hamstring, and Overpower and say “look they’re just as simple.” You have to take into account Heroic Leap, clutch Spell Reflect timing, effective use of Disarm and Intimidating Shout, reverse-kiting with Piercing Howl, and any number of other factors that require skill to manage. I love the warrior archetype, but the real reason I main a warrior in WoW is because I enjoy the feeling that I have a lot of abilities that are situationally useful, and I can increase my own skill when learning how to use them all.
What “skill” is involved with a GW2 warrior? Dodges? Every class, especially melee, has to master those. When to pop Frenzy? Please. It feels bland and uninteresting because it boils down to “wait until they’re vulnerable and then wreck them” if you play our most viable, and also most boring, build.
What skill? Mass disruption, knockdowns, inulnerability skills and timed attacks.
Multiple knockdowns and interrupts and good mobility. You’re probably one of the many greatsword warriors missing completely with their hundred blades and complaining that they’re getting kited.
And as a previous warrior in WoW, it definitley was just a rotation of available skills, heroic leap came in after 3 expansions and hammer warriors have the equivalent skill that actually takes skill to use rather than just another glorified charge.
Battle Standard and other utilities add support flavour to your class that are much more than simply hitting either an HP shout or a attack power shout.
The complexity is there you just have to look for it, not stare at your 5 skills and chase people endlessly.

Please remove the casting animation and delay when using the Battle Standard elite skill.
It is meant to be used in combat and the last thing I need is to be rooted and wait 5-10 seconds for the banner to drop from the heavens and then attempt to pick it up while I am being surrounded by the opposition.
