Just salvaged ‘Ugly Stick’ using BLSK. Got 2 ecto’s, bloodlust rune, and a rabid inscription.
Inscription is Air 10 and is powerful in a glyph build.

That feature I believe (but cannot be sure) is disabled for the first week or two to cut down on real world gold traders.
We don’t need directx 11. Fix current problems before creating new ones. Game needs better system optimization.
A fully baked DX11 game will have the potential to greatly reduce CPU use. DX 11 adds a lot of multithreading support and draw call optimization which if properly coded for could allow significant fps gains.
Trying going into nvidia control panel and checking that the ‘high performance nvidia processor’ is enabled.
Get the i5, gw2 doesn’t need all 8 threads.

So I thought I’d play some gw2 now exams are over. Saw the wintersday event. Thought that would be cool. Then went to lions arch. And saw what an unoptimized mess it is. Fps dropped to 20-30 and suddenly I am cpu bottlenecked.
I am using a lenovo y580 with a 660m (clocks are 950 core/2500 memory) and an i7-3630qm.
For example in fort trinity at low settings (best performance) I get about 110-120 fps at 1080p. At the settings I usually use (everything maxed except for no reflections, aa or ultra shadows I get between 35-55 fps. On best appearance default I get about 20-30 fps.
In lions arch I get 31 fps at 1080p and best appearance. 25 at my standard settings, 14 on best appearance (Why do reflections cause such a drop when there is no water? They cause a drop even when you stare at a wall.).
At 1280 × 800 I get 38 fps (gpu usage is 85% instead of 95-99%) on best appearence.
Why do we have such poor optimization? Yes lions arch usually demands more muscle but to go from 118 fps to 31 is absolutely horrible. The game in this area is basically unplayable for many people with a worse cpu.
I see you stealthily undid the nerf on Evasive Arcana there. Unfortunately, that invalidates the whole post in my eyes.
No, the nerf was on the blast finishers. No where in this post are blast finishers mentioned as being included again.
Yes, nerfing Evasive Arcana did gut ele bunkers pretty bad.
But it nerfed elementalist as a whole as well.
Evasive Arcana is now pretty bad and not worthy of grandmaster status. The worst thing is that all ele builds pretty much need 20 arcana minimum because traits suck.
Probably at least 50% of elementalists used EA because ele sucks for everyting else.
Whats more dodging into fields was fun and made for an engaging playstyle.
Eles suck at so many things that they are shoehorned into a couple builds, they looked at the strongest build and nerfed that and everything else in the process.
Besides ele bunker no one ever says ele is overpowered (its usually underpowered and people have no trouble killing us).
So what did Anet do? Nerfed ele as a whole. Sure staff has a lot of fields but now few blast finishers and the sad part is that blast finishers are needed to prevent you from dieing using a staff.
Most people agreed EA was overpowered. Putting it on a global 10 sec timer would have been a much better fix.
Personally, stop releasing new stuff. Fix old things first.
Fix rendering issues, hacking, bugs, DE’s first.
Properly balance the classes (PvP and PvE separate).
Fix traits and skills (I play ele and the bugs are unbelievable, half of the traits don’t work or are useless. im told necro is similar). Many skills are bugged as hell. RTL, magnetic grasp for example.
Balance the classes properly (no knee jerk reactions we are told then we get tons of them like huge nerfs to thieves, eles).
Other bugs such as monster invulnerability, etc.
There really is no excuse for there to be a difference between what a skill does and what the tool tip says. How hard can it be to 1) Fix the skill or 2) change the text on the tooltip. These are the things I am talking about.
Guys, seriously stop asking for more stuff and then complaining its broken. We put pressure on them for new content, content that is broken because they cant create new content and fix the old stuff at the same time. In my opinion, Halloween was a fail and the effort should have gone to fixing the game in the first place.
For me, after major bugs are fixed I would like
1) New enemies (not a billion types of moa, drake or skale).
2) Better interface, (why its messed up when I choose small, I am unsure), thank you for the FOV change.
Small things but the things that differentiate between a game and a quality game. I am impressed at the zones and their differences but this is decreased when every one of them has moa and skale.
yeah, earth auto attack does like 150 damage.

Please don’t touch evasive arcana, love it, about the only really good trait.
The problem with our traits is that half of them say “while attuned to ______”, remove this and you’re fine in most cases.
We have crappy damage underwater, look at earth 1, does like 150 damage including the bleed. Yay, crowd control, but you need damage to back it up.
Sad part, ele downed 1 underwater does more damage than most of the auto attacks.
There are points for a 1200 range weapon in wvw. However, thief has stealth and restricting the thief to 900 with shortbow was a way of balancing. Stealth and 1200 range weapon in pvp would be very overpowered.
While this would be a good idea for wvw, it would be horrible for pvp. Thief stealths in unloads on target, stealths out, kills person from 1200 range. Honestly I think the reason that thieves did not get 1200 range is that it would be overpowered with stealth.
