Having the same issue. None of my characters (8) can access my personal guild bank (other guild bank is fine) from LA and haven’t been able to since at least Monday. Have tried relogging, unrepping and rerepping, double-checked to make sure not in overflow, etc.
Race: Sylvari
Gender: Female
Class: Necromancer
Issues with new female sylvari faces in Makeover kit:
The two of the new faces have pretty unattractive clipping issues with all Necromancer start masks (Skull Masque, Demon Masque, and Wraith Masque).
I would also appear that the third new face has a issue where the eye color selection if “off”. Choosing purple results in green, turquoise in red, etc.

no way when my model is completely engulfed inside a norm or a charr model halfway when just 3 of us remains (happened me so many times) i can definitely say its not an excuse…..
Actually that is the definition of an excuse. Plenty of us have done in on asura (my elementalist is the smallest you can be in the game). On my asura ranger, me and a male charr completed the puzzle together.
I clicked expecting another whine post. But since you were refreshingly reasonable, I would support this for no other reason than so you can get your Endless.
Honestly though, I don’t think that would be a bad system going forward for these types of things. Shiny Item = RNG or fairly significant amount of related items.
And there should be a special one just for charr. Bless your hearts.
I ended up finishing it up on all my characters last night (8 total) and did my charr last. I did it on the first or second try on the last 3 or 4 except for my charr, which took like 10-12. I busted my face on that stupid beam after the little white block like 6 times before I finally got the hang of it and then the first couple of times, shorted the jump to the last set of stairs.
And that’s with everyone being nice, I can’t imagine what it was like doing it with people raging at me for having the gall to not make a human.
If only there wasn’t acheviement for this jumping puzzle i wouldn’t try to do it for like 5 hours (of failing -.-).
I’m a newbie when it comes to jumping – played only few games with jumping and such stuff. So when gw2 launched i was bad at it, but i tried to do them and improve my skills. After 2 months those jp are easier to me, but still I’m not a jumping master. I have a dream – one day I will open jumping achievement tab and I will see all 10, just give me 2 more months. You could also remove achievement for it – maybe cool looking part of gear (like back from the story ones).
Just answer me this: You admit to not being the greatest jumper (that’s fine, you are probably actually better still than I), so what were your expectations for completing one of the hardest jumping puzzles in the game?
Why should no one else (including myself, admittedly horrible at jumping puzzles) be acknowledge for their achievement for completing it just because you haven’t?
That’s crap, completing it is an achievement, it deserves recognition. Hell, after the 12+ hours and near-infinite attempts I want an achievement, a medal, maybe a plaque, my picture in the newpaper, a hat…no, 2 hats, a parade, and a someone to massage my tired wrist. But I will settle for a full orange bar and 10 measly achievement points.
I think the difficulty level is fine.
I’d like to see the puzzle as a solo, client-side puzzle. That would make it responsive and based upon your own skill level.
Having an achievement for that scenario is perfect.
But you’re not fine with the difficulty because the mess of players thins out quite quickly. It’s part of the challenge to make it past them.
You can’t say you’re fine with the difficulty and then in the next sentence say it should be easier.
My main point is that the puzzle should be completely client side, removing the server position calculations. This naturally requires the puzzle to be a “solo” instance.
That aside, I’m really baffled by your response. Is this a jumping puzzle or not? You feel that having the challenge of other players obstructing your view is ideal? You think removing the other players lessens your accomplishment? Once the horde thins out, it’s essentially a solo instance anyway…
Yes, the crowdedness and waiting is PART of the challenge. The herd thins out primarily BECAUSE of this part of the challenge.
And this is a MMO, yes, other players will always be part of the play (just like enemies is the WubWubs jumping puzzles).
You spent four hours trying to do something you obviously weren’t having fun with.
Why would you do that?
because we don’t know what the prize is for completing the holiday achievement.
You don’t need it for the holiday achievement.
Honestly, before completing it, I was one of those that ranting and raving (“OMG, Why can’t it be instanced!/NOOO, a charr!/That beam is impossible to jump to!/Just hurry up and fall so I can try again!”), but I kept at it (despite being absolutely the worst ever at jumping puzzles). I almost filed for divorce because my husband managed to do it like 3 times before I ever completed it once, but after probably somewhere around…12 hours of trying, I did it.
It’s hard, it is supposed to be hard, nigh unto impossible. But you don’t NEED to do it. If it isn’t fun for you, just don’t do it, do something else. Anet isn’t torturing you, you are torturing yourself. It’s 10 points, one achievement, some boots that are easily replaced.
Completed it 4 or 5 times.
I don’t think I have any passive speed boosts on any of them.
Asura Elementalist, Sylvari Guardian, Human Necro.
Is it impossible to complete on an asura? No. But I will give you that it is more difficult (have completed it on asura and sylvari so far), exponentially so the more larger characters in your instance.
Another tip: Take off your armor, please. Even if you aren’t a norn or charr, your enormous skirt or gargantuan shoulders are going to make more difficult for everyone to judge jumps.
I wasn’t too impressed by it, as far as I can tell the one-time event that we all needed to log in for was a 20 second cut-scene of the mad king breaking a fountain. That given, I completed the dungeon twice with guildies and the Mad King glitched back up to the second floor after we almost killed him on the third both times. Would’ve preferred the event from GW1 over this, never was really a fan of dungeons.
Umm…I could be wrong but I don’t think that is a “glitch”, he moves around in the dungeon, you just have to either jump down or waypoint back up and then jump down to where he is.
Yep, just needed this guy and the one at the Outer Complex for Zone completion. Logged out for a bit, came back, noticed there had been a patch and by the time I got to him he was already dead again (Dragonbrand).
