Legionnaire of Legio Speculatores [SEEK]
{N.A. Server ~ Sorrow’s Furnace}
Gorgaan Peaudesang – I’ll give that a 7/10 for the lore-friendly background and tie into the first game. I do like the interesting translating of the last name, but I didn’t want to score it higher simply because of the usually-literal wordage of Warband names and personal surnames. I feel like just using Gorgaan Bloodskin would’ve been RIDICULOUSLY awesome! Still a great name, though!
My Warrior’s name is Argos Rendfang, proud Legionnairre of the Fang Warband and dedicated soldier of the Blood Legion. His fur, once brilliant white, is now dulled, streaked, and stained with the bloody carnage wrought from his previous campaigns. His eyes, a deep crimson, betray the rage that boils beneath the surface. His scorched, black horns curve backwards against his head showing signs of wear and use from many a sortie since leaving the Blood Legion’s Fahrar.
Absolutely fantastic! Good to finally see someone publish a post like this. I’ve tried to help enlighten folks on the deliberate design of the Black Citadel, and this only serves to prove the point as truth. Thank you for this post!
You just have to bear in mind that every city is designed to specifically feel differently. Just as Rata Sum is about symmetry and angles and the Grove is about the natural ebb and flow of nature, the Black Citadel is about garnering a metallic, militaristic feel. Everything about it says “war”- even so much as down to the materials that make up the city. It’s about layers of iron and steel welded together to make a highly defensible base of operations for the Legions.
As for the PoI’s – make sure you’ve found your way both all the way up and all the way down every set of stairs. I’ve taken several of my guild members through the Black Citadel to a 100% completion mark. I had the same issue when I started my warrior. I can honestly say now, though, that learning the nuances of the layered exploration in the Black Citadel got me in a mindset of looking for Vistas and PoI’s in a different perspective. It also got me ready to explore all of the other main cities. Even Rata Sum was a breeze for me after I’d finished Black Citadel.
I know it’s difficult, but it’s definitely a rewarding feeling when you finally hit that 100%.
I believe it’s Kate Miller. She’s credited with doing the female Charr voices as well as Commander Serentine of the Ministry Guard.
In my humble opinion if you’re going to pick one of the two, I’d go with Rampage. It doubles your base Power statistic and also grants that 20 sec Stability. Definitely the better choice. It’s also been my experience in any WvWvW or SPvP that any summoned allies such as Hounds, Charr Warband, etc., are killed off rather quickly. They just don’t have the staying power that I’d imagine a 30 point skill should possess.
I personally don’t run either. I actually run with Signet of Rage in my final slot for the added Might and Fury with the extra Swiftness to boot.
In all honesty, I’d consider just holding onto the Skill Points. As Mayam said, it just doesn’t merit the massive increase in cost as opposed to the bonus you’d get from running with Signet of Rage.
Hope this helps!
