I am having the same issue allot lately. When there is a large amount of graphic movement going on and I turn my character suddenly the game will freeze, crash, causing my computer to reboot.

It has cost me 3 pvp losses and dishonor each time

No serious change ever happen to thief profession again and never will. Same instant Kill build was there 2 years+ beta, same instant kill build is still here after "thief trait change’.

And guess what? In 2013 a thief player show evidence of the most powerful critic damage a thief can do in pvp. Yes that is correct! A thief player challenge thief player including who said thief can not do high damage and can instant kill: It is “lpt” a lie or making up false statement. Here is a thread with thief doing 18k damage without high equipment+food. (A player already say in a forum that thief with high gear+sigil+food can now do 23k-28k damage).

Again, no serious change will happen to thief profession.

In the end: It is not even a thief, war, mesmer, engineer, elementalist or any profession problems. If Arena net made the professions to be challenge, with risk-reward, hard-worth, effort and with skill-play… nothing like this would never happen.

2 years+ include beta testing and this is the evidence and result of “Fun and Challenge game” with same problem 2 years+ beta? Stealth, burst, instant kill, high condition and skill-less game play?

Giving these no challenge, no risk-reward, no effort, no hard-work, no skill-play and no fun traits with the same effective problems before and make them more powerful now?

This video is blown way out of proportion. If you look at that hit they place max vulnerability, max might, no armor on a 3/4 dead character and back stab’d it. Yes if you had all the moons and planets lined up you too can get a 71k crit hit.

Never have I EVER been one shot in a pvp match by a single character. One shot being full health to full down with only 1 hit, ever. If you run Zerker, expect to get crit hit one shot. Thats YOUR fault for not taking Armor, not power being OP. That thief is also subject to being one shot crit hit.

There are two different variables here. You can choose, key word is choose, to build against a power build by increasing your armor, blocks and blinds. You cannot, key word cannot, do anything against a condition AoE burst.

With a 24k HP I fell in 2 seconds. Never fallen that fast to a thief.

This is so far from the truth. The issue with the current condi system is you cannot spec against it. You can spec against power builds with Armor, just don’t run Zerker yourself. If you are a mesmer running Zerker yes a Zerker Thief is doing to one shot you.

The current condi system has broken PvP and the game for me. It has turned it into a mindless session of condi AoE bombing and you cannot spec against it. Once you have spammed your 2-3 condition removing skills you are toast. People are melting in PvP faster than you can respawn.

The only way to combat conditions, since armor does not affect them, is to increase your HP pool.

Just to test I ran a bunker Guardian last night with about 1800hp, 3k+ armor and all my utilities were condition removing skills. I melted in about 2-4 seconds on average when the AoE bombing Engi, Neco and shatter Mesmers came a calling.

The old condition system was perfect. I ran a non Meta Ranger bleed build pre update and would own any Power Ranger build so to argue Power>Condi was total b.s.. With protection, Signet of Stone, decent Armor, and a 24k HP I would kill power rangers with ease.

Please fix the Condition spam fast or I may not last until the expansion release.

When I try to launch GW2 it seems to lock up the task bar at the top of the computer for a short time. I cannot click on the apple logo, file, edit or other icons at the top of the screen. Then after a short time those begin to work, I need to use the “force to quit” option to shutdown GW2 running in the background.

I posted a game bug in the bug forums. I was in a team completing Arah story and at the completion of the dungeon, just as we killed Zaithan, my game locked up. I had to do a hard reset on my computer and relogged into GW2. The game instantly locked up again.

Trying to rejoin my team and get credit for the completion I then logged on with my Macbook. By then they had left.

Since this incident GW2 will not work on my Mac Desktop. I have tried the following.

I tried the repair fix listed in the help forums using the terminal program and “/applications/guild\ wars\ 2.app/contents/MacOS/cider —use-dos-cwd C:Gw2 — C:\\GW2\\GW2.exe –repair”

This ran for 2+hrs and did nothing, it never finish or completed a fix. The dos window just stays up.

I then tried to delete the client and reinstall GW2. The game will still not launch.

Any help or suggestions?

One note, the game will no longer work on this computer. (Mac desktop, OS X 10.9.5, 3.4 GHz i5, 8 gig, GTX 755M GPU)

I completed Arah story with my mesmer and when the final scene started when Zithan is killed I experienced a fatal crash. I restarted my computer and then GW2 would not load.

I quickly grabbed my laptop and logged into my account. My team was still in the instance so I entered. The game instantly locked up again with a fatal error, on a different computer.

I had to conduct a hard shutdown, restarted GW2 and by then my team had left the instance. My character did not get credit for completing the mission. This is EXTREMELY frustrating since this mission takes over 1hr to complete.

Please help, I would also like credit for mission completion. I submitted an in game bug report. My game log should validate this.

I hope its not the two I’m going for…….

MPR Retina running on OS X Beta and one thing I noticed from my old windows machine is the screen seems dim.

I have the brightness on my MBP turned up and gamma on the game turned up to about 1.0 but the screen seems dim to me.

Im I missing something or is this just how it is…….

I just bought a macbook pro (the modle right below yours, you have 512 SSD i have 256 SSD) and a few things I have noticed from when I played on a Windows laptop.

The Apple laptops will NOT play this game the same as a Windows machine, thats just fact right now. You get more hardware for your buck on a Windows machine. For the price of these Retinas you can get a MSI or Sager laptop with a 4 gig Nvidia GTX 680M GPU, 16 gig ram, on and on and on. Those machines will play this at Ultra settings with no issues.

These just do not have the hardware to run it like that. I knew this going in, but I wanted to get away from Windows PC’s.

Im sure the game will run better on Window…….even on a Mac. If you need that extra preformance, load it on Windows.

My experience playing on Mac Beta:

So far I see no difference. I was playing on a 1.5 year old Alienware with a ATI 5870M 1 gig GPU, i7 Q720, 4 gig memory. This apple runs the game MUCH smoother and more stable then my older one (using macbeta). The graphics settings can be set higher on the Mac then my Alienware. My Mac I run it on Medium on most, my PC was all Low.

One note, your Macbook is getting hot because your likely running it with a 60 FPS cap or higher. I set mine to 30 FPS cap and it does not get very hot.

I do play WvWvW and notice a slight drop in WvW but its still playable.

I went and did it, I got Macbook Pro Retina after reading some of the comments here.

The very first and only thing I have done since opening it was start the DL of the GW2 Mac Client.

I started the download and after an hour or so it was in the 40-50% so I went for some food. When I returned I noticed the log in screen and at the bottom were the status bar was it said “connection error, retrying”

It looked as if GW had finished, but I could not find the game on the computer. So I went to find, applications and clicked the GW2 log and i started the down load all over (currently at 8%)

Is there any special tricks I need to look out for? I am new to Apple (had Windows since the 90s) so navigating this I a little new to me.

ps. Im sure I will have follow on questions (like installing Windows using bootcamp, how to install it without a cd drive, tips, tricks…..ect, ect)

I run the game on high settings. Forget the exact resolution, but it was the first option that was at like 2000 by something. Not the highest resolution, but close to it. I get 30 to 50 fps depending on the area. In W v W its 30 to 35 fps. I highly recommend this laptop.

When you say recommend this laptop are you refering to the base modle iMac book Pro Retina?

The only upside I see to the next modle is more SSD and slightly faster i7.

Hows the Retina display look with the game?

How much HD space does W7 take up on your SSD? (wondering, only comes with a 256 as is)

Is “bootcamp” the best way to run W7? I was informed by an Apple rep there is another program out there to boot into windows on Apples.

4 gig ram
Radeon 5870 HD, 1 gig GPU

I get 30-40 FPS on med settings in PVE, 20-30 at best in WvWvW and a crappy 20> in LA. I usualy cut the graphics down to “best prefromance” to keep the heat down but that makes the game look like crap.

I am looking for some feed back from players uning the Mac client on a Macbook Pro Retina.

Video settings using (low/med/high/ultra) and your FPS your getting.

I need to replace my Laptop ASAP and want to get away from Windows and get into a Mac.

Onlything stopping me in the past was GW2.
