I actually think GW2 would be amazing on the PS4 as well. I always thought games that originated on PC should stay on PC, but that view changed after playing both versions of Diablo 3. It was incredibly well made and optimized on console. I think for GW2 they would have to tinker with a few things here and there (gemstore stuffs?), but done right they could reach a whole new demographic of players. This could provide more revenue which could mean more future content.
I finally completed my Revenant set! As a ranger main I was waiting until the druid reveal, but I decided to just take a chance and just prep my future Revenant. Only thing I have left to decide is what race it will be. Stuck between Sylvari and Charr xD
All the gear has sinister stats and I bought an overload of various condition based sigils/runes that were unbelievably expensive…but I couldn’t make up my mind so I just bought one or two of each: sigil of bursting/malice/torment; runes of perplexity/torment. I was surprised there is no torment + 20% duration sigil…could have sworn I saw it before. lol
I totally would drop playing all the other professions if Hammerguard’s rifle idea came into reality. Alas…I think they arn’t going to add a condi ranged weapon at this point…and going to wait for the next batch of elite specs. (Ritualist themed I hope for revenant). A lot of people want a ranged dagger I’ve read, but I’m the opposite. Would seem a bit odd/comical to role into battle with a dagger and shield or axe offhand lol. Pistol mainhand would be great, since no heavy class has it yet for a mainhand or a offhand. Shortbow would also be ok; same boat as pistol. Scepter…I hesitate to encourage…just yet. (Reserved for ritualist elite spec?!
)
On a side note, the underwater weapon for Rev seems like the best weapon ever created. It has the perfect balance for condi/power specs…almost wish land weapons had this feature. I give it an A+!
I’m gonna try to be as concise as possible!
What I loved! (Likes:)
Legendary Assassin Stance aka. Shiro Stance: All the utility skills + elite were fantastic. Enchanted Daggers seemed a bit weak on the healing side and I feel like Riposting Shadows (the evade) costed a bit too much energy to use frequently. (This could help out with the hard-to-stay-alive mantra I’ve read on other peoples feedback).
Legendary Demon Stance aka. Mallyx Stance: LOVE! Everything is useful! Especially in pvp! It was almost shocking how effective it is at countering people who were condition users. I felt like a signet necromancer on steroids and I felt GLORIOUS! In PvE I found it less useful overall.
Legendary Dwarf Stance aka. Jalis Stance: I like it! The stability road was useful in many situations. Vengeful Hammer was my go-to skill for tagging mobs in PvE while using melee weapons! Forced Engagement seemed less useful to me. I barely used it in both PvE or PvP due to the high energy cost and short duration. Soothing Stone is a really good heal.
Weapons: Hammer—GlORIOUS! I loved the hammer both in PvP and PvE. Hits like a truck while using a power based build. I rarely used Field of the Mists, but I think because I often forgot about it. Mace/Axe—GLORIOUS! Axe has amazing utility regardless of what build your running. Using a condition build, these two weapons shine bright like a diamond. (no copyright intended) There was one problem I had with this weapon set that will be addressed later. Staff—I liked it. All the skills were useful (besides staff 2) especially Surge of the Mists. It does a surprising amount of damage.
What I did NOT love! (Dislikes:)
Chronomancer: The fact the chronomancer was GLORIOUS in every aspect I can imagine made me neglect Revenant a bit. (lol) It’s just…so so so awesome, I cannot even give feedback on it cause I will scream.
Legendary Centaur Stance aka. Ventari Stance: I tried to like this so much. I just…didn’t. It felt very slow to me. Especially Project Tranquility. Keeping up with this thing was a headache. Also I didn’t see how I can make this stance work without some healing power+ gear. I just…don’t know. Maybe it’s a learn to play issue? Who knows!
Traitlines: Some of the traits lines seemed…weak? Pigeonholed maybe is the word I’m looking for. They don’t really feel as fluid and game-changing as some of the other professions (cough) mesmer/chronomancer/fanboy scream. Also some of the traits (example-Venom Enhancement) only affect one thing. The third strike of a mace has poison, but that’s about it (if I remember correctly). I would maybe change it to Chaos Enchancement, make mace third auto-attack inflict confusion, and it would also affect Banish Enchantment utility skill, as well as Spontanous Destruction. Cool idea right!? RIGHT!? Welp…I tried.
Weapons: Don’t hate me, but…I wasn’t a die hard fan of the Swords— Mainhand sword auto attack was ok. Great in fact when paired with Impossible Odds; however, Percision Strike and Unrelenting Assault seemed a bit weak? Well let me clarify. Sword 2 felt weak. Sword 3 felt okish damage wise, but completely unsafe. Especially in PvP where people are looking to snipe your hit points as soon as possible. Also when Sword 3 finished, you just kinda stand there. Let’s have us continue auto-attacking after maybe! Offhand sword I didn’t use very much because of the GLORY of axe offhand. (lol) Staff—The auto attack healing orbs were extremely hard to see and didn’t last long at all. Maybe change this in the future?
Punishing Sweep should be totally overhauled. It is completely boring. I have no suggestions cause…welp I’m getting tired actually.
Condi Revenant: I LOVE CONDITION BUILDS! I’m not gonna lie, power builds usually bore me, but they have their uses. Revenant as a whole seems more power based from what I’ve played. Mace/Axe is glorious and wonderful, but I had a hard time picking a second weapon set. None of the other weapon sets have synergy with mace/axe. I tried sword with its vuln stacking; also staff…but they both just felt useless? I hit like a wet noodle basically is what I’m saying…so I just stuck to mace/axe set to do any decent damage. Maybe Glint will fix this issue? Who knows!
I hope my thought process was easy(ish) to follow and a little bit helpful! Can’t wait to see what happens with the Revenant!
Ok that’s it! Bye bye for now! xD
I really want to main Ele, but…I’m just not sure.
I have 7 level 80s. The only class I don’t have is Engineer.
I recently crafted the legendary focus and plan on using it for my chosen main.
Necro is very very fun and there are many builds that are useful.
Guardian is also fun, although a bit easymode to be honest. I rarely see myself using the focus in any of my builds.
Mesmer I like too, but…I also feel like it is a bit of easymode in pvp PLUS it’s so so so so so so so slow in terms of movement speed outside of combat.
Now Elementalist…I plan on remaking/releveling. (Burned out from lvl 80 content). Thinking about using dagger/focus or scepter/focus for the majority of the time. However, I was reading to avoid focus and just go D/D all day long. I stopped playing D/D long before any nerfs cause once again…I thought it was a bit easymode. (Although in dungeons, it was THE SINGLE MOST FUN BUILD i’ve ever played.)
The only time I remember using xx/focus was in Arah dungeons against Lupi, but…
As you can see I’m a bit scattered brained on who I should main. I don’t have the drive to use alts anymore cause the game just isn’t supportive of that…
Help! lol
Oh oh, also…what do you guys think would make using the focus better? Like a rework of the skills or a specific trait focusing on the focus…I’m just curious.
Oh oh, another thing…um…I forgot. No wait, my opinion…would be maybe, just maybe…and this could be passed down to all professions…have the skills work like thieves! Erm, you know…some of their sword skills change based on what they have in their offhand. Like Sword/P is different from Sword/D. Maybe the same could occur with S/F and S/D (for ele)? No? Maybe? I think it would make sense!
ONE MORE THING: All my opinions on the professions are taken from my experiences in PvE, Dungeons, and WvW. I’ve dabbled in Spvp a bit, but generally have fun with ANY profession in it…so yea. Just fyi ^_-
OK this is it, I swear! The major factor for me to main Ele is…it’s a bit harder to play then anything else (IMO). I feel like I made out of paper and I’m giving out papercuts most of the time (but papercuts hurt sometimes, ya know?) Also, I mained Ele in GW1. So I feel like…I can’t turn my back on Ele! Wow…sry for typing so much!
I’m thinking about selling The Minstrel (focus) for 1200g, but the listing fee makes me cringe. ~_~ There also seem to be a huge amount of flippers which is even more discouraging. Just makes it hard to price things in general. I wish we had the ability to trade with others…like item for item. I’d gladly trade The Minstrel for another legendary of equal value…perhaps like The Moot (mace), but doubt that feature is going to be added (anytime soon).
I apparently have the opposite problem of a lot of people in this thread and love too many legendaries. I’m hoping to someday have Bifrost, Sunrise, Flameseeker, and the Dreamer, on top of my Moot. -.- Gives me something to do in game, i suppose.
Oh my lord! I don’t think going for this task would be too healthy. Be careful!
My question is… Why such a huge disparity in effects especially for something that is supposedly “the pinnacle of weaponry in Guild Wars 2” ala Isiah Cartwright?
Good question! I’m afraid we will never know the answer unless some “official” knows.
Hehe I would want Han Solos Pistol and fire animation would be laser
Woohoo
Now there’s an idea! lol I’m pretty sure if they made one like this…it would one of the most popular legendaries.
Well I can’t seem to find a lot of posts about legendary weapons so I thought I’d start one!
In my opinion, (>^_^)> most of the legendary weapons look awesome. They either have cool design, leave footprints as you run around, make goofy noises/visuals when they are used, or make people’s characters all electric-ishy (aura I think is the word).
However, there are two legendary weapons that I feel need some major love and support!
Number one is the legendary scepter: The Meteorlogicus. This scepter is pretty…but it could use an extra “umpf”, ya know? I suggest making cloudy footprints or a trailing cloudy effect like the greatswords when you swing it!
Number two is the legendary focus: The Minstrel. This focus is…well I will be honest it’s not very…pretty. I’m not sure what can be done with it…maybe make it have musical note footprints…or make the bird part sing when you attack? Heck you could even make it glow brighter then the sun, but…I’m not sure…like I said. Something can be done to make it more “epic legendary”! No?
Speaking of support, I know a lot of people I’ve asked discourage making underwater legendary weapons! I always wondered why, so give me some feedback or thoughts on this subject. What would make them more desirable?
I’m curious of other people’s views! Tell me which legendaries you love and which ones need some support…and provide some potential solutions like I did, hehe!
P.S. I just want to keep this discussion on current legendaries. For instance: MAKE NEW LEGENDARIES OMG OMG I HATE RAINBOWS…isn’t the point of this topic. Mkay ^.^ ….and seriously who hates rainbows….ok ok maybe evil Necromancers out there, but come on! :P
This is a topic I love.
I miss a lot from GW1:
~Ritualist+Dervish – These classes were just ultra cool/different.
~All of Nightfall/Elona – The story, lore, introduction of heroes…it was just awesome.
~DYE-ABLE WEAPONS
~All armor sets – Even the basic ones looked good.
~Pre-searing – Really cool introduction to GW1.
~Aspenwood/Jade Quarry – Had some really fun games here, PvP in general was nice.
~Underworld/Fissure of Woe – Nice high level content, pretty difficult.
~DoA – A way to earn some money/cool weapon skins, required coordination.
~Obsidian Armor – Really cool looking armor (in my opinion of course).
~Chaos Gloves – Glowy hands ftw!
~Updates – Every couple of months they would do major updates to skills/mechanics/professions, made things fresh and people would make new builds accordingly.
~The number of skills/elites that were available.
~Guild Halls
~HARD MODE – Double chest drops + better drops in general, yes please! Although this made some content almost impossible without cons/good players.
~Crystal Desert – Idk why, but I just liked it.
~Vanquishing – Destroying everything on the map = xD
~And of course Cantha!
