I think people still want to see a health-sacrificing support necro build similar to gw1, where you would sacrifice a % of your hp to add special support effects to your allies.

That’s not a strict rule. Correlation does not equate to law.

While half true, its half not.
Reaper – yes, 2 handed weapon and new profession F1 skill
Tempest – yes, 1 handed weapon and additional
Chronomancer – yes, 1 handed weapon and additional F5 skill

Daredevil – no, got a 2 handed weapon, kept steal as its main mechanic
Druid – yes, 2 handed weapon and F5
Scrapper – no, 2 handed hammer and keeps main mechanic of kits with addition of gyros

Berserker – 1 handed weapon, additional berserk skill
Herald – 1 handed weapon, F3 facet skill
Dragonhunter – 2 hander, new F1-3 skills.

While you have a general point, it doesnt fit every case.

@Crinn You are right, but if you were paying attention when Elite Specs for first being revealed, the devs stated that this was a soft rule they were following, hence why I mentioned it was a “general idea” that they were following

@Khailyn As I said said above, it was just a soft rule the devs were kinda sticking too as they stated themselves. But 6/9 times it’s being followed/correct, so it very well could be a new shroud, but maybe we can have fun assuming it’s not for now.

So what do you guys think F2-F4 skills on a base shroud necro could be?

I think something that usually gets forgotten is the general idea is that when an Elite Spec gets a two-handed weapon, they get an all-new profession mechanic (F1-F4). But if the Elite Spec gets a one-handed weapon, they keep the old profession mechanic and get an extra addition to it.

So if the leaks are true and we are getting a torch offhand, wouldn’t that mean we keep the default shroud and get an additional profession mechanic? That might Anet incentive to rework/buff base shroud a bit more to be in par with other Elite Specs?

Suggestions to improve great sword and reaper

Just on the point of improving the greatsword. I think something a lot simpler, such as a trait change could help. The Soul Eater trait is currently in a useless spot, Chilling Victory and Decimate Defenses are always better options for any content. But if you replaced Soul Eater with a trait similar to Warriors Leg Specialist: (Immobilize a target when you cripple them with a skill [5sec internal cd]) but with no internal cooldown and a lower immob time 1sec>0.5sec, it would make all greatsword skills much easier to land with Nightfalls (GS4) pulsing cripple. Since the whole problem with greatsword is being able to land your attacks. Doesn’t this solve most of the problems without actually touching the gs but swapping out a dead trait?
