Why is a game that is not rated for kids, censoring us?
ESRBTitles rated T (Teen) have content that may be suitable for ages 13 and older.
WikipediaThe vast majority of countries set the age of majority at 18, but ages as low as 12 and as high as 21 also exist.
Most countries count 13-year-olds as kids, so this game is “rated for kids”. Also the company may choose to accept their moral responsibity knowing that an ESRB rating pratically does nothing to stop younger children from playing their games.

I shut the music off as soon as I found the option, which was rather quick because it was the first thing I looked for. I generally dislike background music, because (to use the gamer’s cry) it breaks immersion. If there’s not an npc with a horn, I better not hear a trumpet.
To each his own, I guess. Although, unlike most options that allow us to experience the game in a personalized way, I fear they spend to many resources creating music that many of us will never bother to listen to. Nothing to do about that tho. It’s easier to critque music than gameplay, hence having good music will get your whole game at least a 3 out of 5 rating

Unfortunate I think the ability to jump more-or-less breaks the pathing for destination clicking. We all abuse the inability of the AI to jump. If you clicked your destination that happen to have a hop along the route, you could well be surprised when you character takes of backwards running a large loop of a secondary route.
Anyhow, I would be in favor of it. My main use was to click a fair ways ahead along the path… and that would give me up to ten seconds to type in chat! Now if I have to chat, the rest of the party will be out of the area by the time I hit enter.
yes 3 of 6 of my guildies that were online cannot access game after zoning .
Since mesmers won’t be tanking too much, the best race is the smallest, so that: 1) live opponents have a harder time detecting you, and 2) those who target via selection with mouse selection have a harder time clicking on you.
The smallest race is not arguable.

I think it’s pretty much a non-issue, because as O.P. stated, “mesmers play differently.” I neither think a single character should be able to solo everything, nor do I think my mesmer has had a particularly hard time soloing most things. My mesmer had very enjoyable conquests: recently, in personal story “against the corruption”, after the npcs wipe I was able to solo the rest on my second attempt. My mesmer soloed the 4 sharks for the Fernwood(?) skill point that was recently fixed. I believe one of my earliest WvW experiences was soloing the centaur skill point.
I use the same weapon sets as have since week #2, I’ve not felt compelled to adjust to that to the opposition.
I am not certain, not having played an ele at all, but I’ve been hearing a lot more complaints from elementalists than mesmers. I think mesmers can often break aggro, and ele’s cannot. That would be a detriment, indeed. Thus, I feel lucky I rather choose a mesmer first.
In conclusion, I do not find the mesmer as “tedious” as the O.P seems to indicate. I am quite happy with my experience.

Agreed, as evidenced by the fact I haven’t done that part of my story yet.
After soloing the rest of my story (or else, how is it personal?), which had a couple quite tedious parts where I wiped a dozen times, but I could still make progress by running ahead and being able to kill 1 mob before I wiped again. Against the corruption was usually glitched for me, but the 3rd time trough, after nearly vanguishing the locale, my allies became unstuck and I finished the events out of order.
I did try to solo the dungeon: but I’m guessing you physically need two people to pass the first door.
Interestingly, I had long ago decided I would not play dungeons until they were fixed, by which I generally mean more user friendly. Based on AC, I though the rewards were negligible compared to the difficulty. [And now, they surprised me with establishing whatever “cap” on dungeon rewards]. Also, more of a concern that difficulty is time spent, which was often more than 30 minutes to get into the dungeon amidst my guildies cries of “we have to wait for it to reset”, “great, another one that’s not level 35”, “I’m in overflow, are you in overflow?”
Allegedly, most party connection problems have been fixed, but sure enough, on my second half hour wait to get a pug to end my story, I finally see a group trying, and performing the same rigmarole: “I say we let the new guy go first”; “It didn’t reset”; “Just wait for everyone to get back here”. [N.B.: The past couple days I’ve been playing during the dead time around 5 am; I know I’ll have better luck at prime-time or with my guildies.]
It would be easy to facetiously agree that everyone does have the same personal story: it all ends with “it’s too hard to get in the dungeon.” But disregarding that, I disagree in principle. I wanted my personal story to be mine. There’s very nearly a zero percent change that I’ll be with people that haven’t already done it. They’re going to spoil it for me.
There are definitely mesmers working at Anet. They get joy from your misery. Let’s not forget the old cartography, which was so tedious I couldn’t do it without helper apps.
Last month’s Monthly Survivor took me less than 3 hours, albeit after a couple stressful days of not dying until I found out not to change zones or logout. This month’s took 90 minutes. It’s faster if you have high level zones to explore and experience boosters.
That’s how the Mongols achieved the largest contiguous land empire. Everybody picked up two shields and pushed. They could not be defeated.

I disagree, resurrecting should contribute to rewards; I assumed it did, but there’s no way for end users to know.
Yes, it happens just as he said. I’ve only seen it in WvW, typically right after a door is blown.
