1. Rated Arena Deathmatch w/ great rewards (2v2 / 3v3) among other new game modes
2. Weapon Skills remade – Impressive spells / effects that feel satisfying to use. (most classes have boring skills that look like variants of other skills. Especially for warriors – their skills don’t look or feel impressive at all – they are just different slashes, lunges, spinning)
Weapon runes should also apply a visual effect to the weapons.
3. Balance
bump bump bump bump…
if you could teleport to work, the store, the bar, out to eat, visit family around the country, anytime you wanted, for less than the cost of a gallon of gas per use, would you honestly still use a car for anything, ever?
Mounts don’t use gas.
I’d love to see this, just so I can find out what people are wearing, haha. Some of the armor is so pretty, but I have no idea what it is.
To avoid all the elitism, perhaps it could hide the stats, and just show the name and the ability to preview it, etc.
Agreed. This would allow inspection without the fear of elitism / rejection.
I am not sure about the increase in speed the higher the level, but I felt like ground mounts would be awesome to have. The movement speed does seem a bit slow. Mounts are also a great incentive to level up and keep playing. Not to mention, they are super cool.
I agree with DeWolfe completely.
Do you feel like the current skills / effects are visually stunning for Warriors and other classes? I like the Elementalist spell effects the most, so far. 5 stacks of bleeding triggering regeneration is an automatic effect that requires no reactive user input. I feel like the skills for many classes could be much more complex and exciting.

I’m not sure about the xp boosters, or how many people buy them from the gem store, but I believe consumable bonuses should stack with rested bonus. The sales of xp boosters might even increase from the implementation of rested bonus, just due to the increase in players logging back on and playing. Half of a level would be the cap on rested bonus, and it would take many hours being logged off to accumulate.
Some sort of very good-looking elf race is necessary in any MMO.
Please consider possibly adding weapon skills that are only useable based on unique conditions caused by other weapon skills. Some examples I know from World of Warcraft:
*Warlock Conflagrate – only useable after the Immolate burn condition is currently applied
*Warrior Overpower – has a chance to be activated based on each time a Rend bleed damage ticks
Also, it would be nice to have more visually exciting / complex weapon skills and particle effects for warriors and other classes that may need it, with a sort of, “Wow, that was cool” factor. It would make the classes a lot more fun to play.
I apologize if this suggestion has already been posted, but I see that it has not been implemented, and I believe it is a good idea to get more people to log on more often.
Rested bonus from being logged off in designated areas, such as towns or taverns, would be an incentive for players to continue playing the game. The incentive becomes more effective the longer the person is logged off of a certain character because the amount of xp bonus is increases with time.
My friend was going to purchase guild wars 2 at the discounted price because the post said that it would end 2/25/2013, but it did not list the time. He was right about to purchase a copy, when we noticed right now, 10:30 p.m. on 2/25/2013, that the price was changed back. Is there a way that he can still get it for $40 while it is the 25th?
1. I would like to know if anyone agrees that it would be nicer to not have portals separating the zones, so that it feels more like a full, continuous world to explore.
2. Add an arena or deathmatch mode and some other fun mode / maps to PvP. Conquest is getting boring.
3. In PvP matches, I feel that coloring the gear blue / red can take away from the cool looks and color schemes that people would like to use. There could be other options for distinguishing teams, such as Blue / Red rings underneath the characters, or flags on the characters, similar to World of Warcraft arena.
- hopefully add matchmaking queues, instead, or in addition to hotjoin
4. The background music for each zone could be more immersive to create that fantasy feeling, which creates more feelings of involvement and a sense of mystery, which enhances the experience of exploration. I felt World of Warcraft was very successful in this aspect.

2v2, 3v3, 5v5 Rated Arena Deathmatch and nice-looking gear rewards available to craft from reaching a certain rating.
crafting is a good idea, but since you can only have two professions people will think one is favored over another. 2v2 might be pushing it. I can see the nerf bat winding up for the pitch if that came out because it would show how much one class could dominate another while the partner may do little to no work(like spamming crowd control skills). 3v3 and 5v5 one person can’t do that, which forces them to act like a team.
I was a hardcore GW fan and played a ranger and assassin in both PvP and PvE. After beating GW1 and hearing that GW2 was in the works I got away from it and went to WoW(because of friends). I left that because I heard GW2 had came out and was so excited. Everyone here who has played GW waited patiently for GW2 because I lost count how many times it got pushed back. I just hope that they find the “equilibrium” that they are searching for this game to surpass GW reputation.
I meant crafting PvP items using the Great Forge in the Heart of the Mists, which does not require a profession. Neither does crafting PvP items using the Great Forge in Lion’s Arch.

I hope they see these posts because they contain a lot of valuable information on things to implement that will drastically improve the game. I’m sure they do. I trust that ArenaNet’s team is putting a lot of effort to try and work things out. The game is still fairly new. It’s a lot of work to accomplish and I’m sure all the new features will be implemented eventually…
I think that not all PvP gear should be equal in stats. People need the drive to keep playing and working towards acquiring that next better gear piece. They will be a lot more happy when that new gear part drops from that chest they got from ranking up, if it actually makes a difference in their effectiveness in PvP. Having everything “balanced” like it is now, is nice in a way, but doesn’t give people the motivation to keep playing.
I think it would be nice to have smaller-scale arena ladders like 3v3 and 5v5 etc. Very nice-looking gear rewards would be available along the way at certain levels of rating acquired, like 2000 rating, for example, might give you access to being able to craft a higher level of gear.
I also feel that people don’t feel the need or desire to work towards PvP rewards, since they do not feel any real changes from acquiring the gear, since it is only aesthetic. People can already acquire decent looking gear once they reach Deer rank, from free tournament tokens, and lose the motivation to grind repetitively in the same game mode and same 4 maps to get gear that might look slightly better.
It is very nice to be able to feel the increase in strength or power, when you acquire a new piece of gear, or weapon, thus giving the motivation to acquire it. Some examples of this are working towards unlocking new, better guns and attachments in shooters to make a huge difference in combat, or playing a lot of arena / battlegrounds to unlock a strong sword that will increase your damage output substantially. This is what causes the drive to keep playing through PvP, and grinding battlegrounds or rating — looking forward to acquiring gear that will make a difference. I know that this is against many people’s ideals of having a “balanced” and scaled system, but for me, it is what makes the game fun. The “balance” that they have now can be acquired once you reach the cap on the best gear currently available.
